We originally planned to stay for two nights but we liked it so much we stayed for three. Our campsite was up on a ridge overlooking the river as it comes out from the dam. It is a lovely shallow river with white water and sand and pebble island. The birds were migrating north and they were everywhere especially herons and blue birds. This river seems to be a prime trout fly fishing spot because just about everyone else was there to fish. It was also very family oriented with lots of kids and a nice playground. Half the campground was closed to camping while we were there and several sites did not have the water on but there is a spot to fill your rig near the washroom. About half the campsites are reserve and half are first come first serve. Our campsite was spacious and lovely. There is a boat launch and picnic area. The campground hosts were friendly and helpful and the bathrooms were clean. There is a large day visitor/picnic section and so daytime were very busy with children at the playground. We were not able to get any TV on our antennae nor did we get a cell phone signal and our satellite radio had trouble acquiring a signal. Up above the dam on a very steep winding road it a nice boat launch are for the accessing the lake and another big playground. We camped at Dam - Quarry COE in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to go visit the Norfolk Fish hatchery right across the highway. It has a great visitor centre and is interesting. There is also a special area for mobility impaired fly fishers to access Dry Run Creek with easy generous ramps and deck like overlooks for wheel chairs.

Good views of the river. Pleasant and helpful staff. Level, paved sites. Some sites have covered picnic tables and benches by river bank. We camped at Dam - Quarry COE in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

A very nice campground below the dam of the Norfork Lake. Below the dam is the North Fork White River, which is where the campground is. This is a COE campground so seniors get it half price with America The Beautiful Card. The sites overlooking the river have a great view and able watch fly fisherman fishing when the river was down. They raise and lower the river by several feet several times a day. The whole campground is very nicely laid out and well maintained. The sites are paved and level. AT&T cell worked, but weak, Verizon Mifi worked good. No OTA TV. We were here Easter weekend and there were several campsites still available. This campground is open all year. All sites have water & electric, no sewer, some 50 amp and some 30 amp. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Dam - Quarry COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Facilities were exceptional clean, grounds well maintained. Private sites. Unfortunately you can only stay here 14 days and have to leave. My husband is working right at dam for five months and they would not make an exception to let is stay on site while he was working 200 feet from campground. . So he has to drive 20 miles each way. They should have some allowances for people doing government projects. The staff would not even give is a contact to try And ask anyone else it was just a flat Absolutely not. Overall Rating:

This is an awesome campground. It doesn't have all the perks of a private campground, such as a pool. It is a COE campground in the Ozarks sitting at the base of the Norfork dam and lake. The river was 30 ft away from our site. The campground is well kept. All sites are flat and level. The roads are paved. It is beautifully laid out with each site having lots of privacy space (no ghetto). Modern hook-ups. The entire campground is post card perfect. For fishermen there is the river and boat ramp. Huge areas to walk Fido. No problem getting satellite reception. I would pay them to be a campground host here. We camped at Dam - Quarry COE in a Fifth Wheel.
