15 RV Parks near Mountainburg, Arkansas
Nov 2016 - $24.00
Small but very nice campground. Parking our 40' motorhome was not a problem. Lots of good hiking trails, beautiful views and in proximity of Fayetteville and the University (40 minutes). - Charlie_72704
Apr 2016 - $32.00
We stay here as often as possible in our RV and have also stayed in their cabins. We run and mountain bike the new Boston Mountain Trail, rich with water crossings in the spring! Hike the Ozark Highlands Trail. Awesome campsites and very nice cabins. Beautiful color in the fall. Great pool and kayaking is available. What a great state park. - mtnlvr
Apr 2016 - $32.00
Seriously, this IS the state park other states should try to emulate. Gorgeous setting, amazing sites, on the small side, super quiet, with some beautiful hiking trails. 30 sites total, 20 full hookups, 10 with water and electric only. Full hookup sites are mostly bigrig friendly, but a few are too short or not level, so check them out before deciding. The three pull through sites had great views of the lake, but had questionable approaches/departure hills. We didn't have reservations, but arrived on a Tuesday and were told to drive through and pick a spot from ones available..tough choice, as the are all wonderful, but ended up at site 18. Wow!! Flat, lots of concrete, and huge. The water and electric only sites didn't seem very level, and I don't think any of them could handle a rig larger then 30'. Wish we could have stayed longer, but the park was booked solid over the weekend. The only downside was no Verizon coverage. - Jerry and Betsy
May 2017 - $35.00
Good Place to over nite or spend a few days in the area. 3 miles off of I-40 easy access. It is an old KOA but is in excellent condition with paved roads and gravel pads that are mostly level. - Danny285
Apr 2017 - $35.00
My take: A former KOA. Quaint. Secluded. Safety: no concerns - peaceful. Access: Off I-40 exit 13 go north about 3 miles. Good signage on left. Municipal road needs resurfacing. GPS took us directly to the CG. Office: Token store with food items and snacks, a few RV equipment items; closes at 6 PM. Facilities: Sites are a mix of back-in and pull-through; tent area and cabins. Pool, no spa or fitness room. Laundry room not inspected. Restrooms/showers look very new, clean, modern (score "A"). Nice playground. Tons of open space for your dog to run. Lake with pedal-boats to rent. Campground: Roads are narrow, new asphalt with tight turns. Watch for hanging tree branches. Electrical pedestals with FHU-20/30/50; no meters. Sites are dirt and grass with a sprinkling of gravel and very close together, grass landscaping, level with pedestal at mid-rig. Some sites have sewer; others use dump station near office but the (aging) sewer is on the wrong side of the road so go "in" the "out". Some sites have concrete patios; not all sites have picnic tables. Good satellite views. Ground fires not permitted. Adequate water pressure and taste. Propane sales on site. Free cable TV. OTA TV found 18 channels. Free Wi-Fi but with sporadic coverage and weak bandwidth. Verizon phone at 4-bars; 4G at 4-bars. No railroad, traffic, or aircraft noise. No recycle bins. Bug Report: Ant mounds but no activity noted. Runners: CG roads good for running, no fitness room so no treadmills. Yoga: lawns were well mowed; place mats anywhere; watch for ants. Conclusion: Overpriced for minimal amenities. We only stayed 1 night per our travel plan. - StephenK
Oct 2016 - $45.00
Well, this ex KOA still has KOA prices. The roads are a bit tight, but navigable. The cable is not provided for overnighters as it is too much trouble to set up a comcast box for each rig. (really?) Over the air is spotty, but we didn't need it. Owner tries to be friendly.... problem was he charged me $35 for a non sewer spot - then put me in a sewer spot - then came knocking on the door when he realized his mistake and wanted his extra $10 or to help us move to the site he intended. I paid the 10 as I was all set up after a long day driving. He should not have even asked. We won't be back. - Tiny Beast
Jun 2015 - $27.00
This park is a gravel parking lot with very tight spots. The basic rate is $25 but for 50 Amps, the rate is $27. The 50 amp breaker continually tripped in site 30. Management knew it but would not fix it. I was stuck here for four days while the temperature climbed to nearly 100 degrees in my RV. Do not rely on the attached RV dealership. They did repairs on my 5th wheel hitch and the new parts fell out while I was driving to get fuel. I got back to the park and could not hook up to the 5th wheel pin. I won't be back. - KD7UCH
Apr 2015 - $25.00
This is a fairly clean park with continuous distant traffic noise and some train noise.
Sites are dirt and gravel, narrow, mostly not level, in various lengths, without shade. Not all sites have sewer connections, 50 amps, or cable. Voltage is good.
Roads are dirt and gravel, in good condition.
Staff and hosts are friendly and helpful, but can be hard to find.
WiFi is strong. One afternoon I measured 653.6 kB/s down; by evening it was very slow.
Verizon LTE works well.
Showers are clean but lack privacy.
Laundry: 2 top-loaders ($1.25), 2 dryers ($1 for 46 min).
Rate is total with Good Sam. - wjzcbn
Mar 2015 - $25.00
As stated by others, this is really a parking lot for the RV servicing & sales company. It is okay for an over night stay. Others have stated their site was level. Number 25 was not. Big rigs beware. I witnessed a rather large fifth wheel nearly slip into the creek that runs threw the camp grounds. The wheels dipped into a wash that had cut into the gravel roadway. Our entrance door was just 5 feet from our neighbor's full hook up drop. We were 7 feet from his unit. Staff personnel were nice and helpful. The park is pet friendly. Many "sites" appeared to be homesteading or had just dropped as a storage place. Value wise, at $25, was acceptable for clean bathroom and showers. - Laptop Willie
Apr 2017 - $32.00
The site was level side to side. It was a bit tight backing in with a tree on one side and the identification post on the other. If you go here, contact them ahead of time and park first if possible. The area around the visitors center is extremely tight. I could not have gotten my truck and trailer in and out of the parking lot. - BaldGuy
Oct 2016 - $24.00
What a beautiful park! The site was spacious the only difficult thing was when we made reservations they didnt tell we needed to go to our site first then check in. When we got there the signs told us to check in before going to your site. We did what it said we run into a problem had to back down a mountain because there was no where to turn around. The best way to come into the park is highway 170 do not take highway 74 especially if you have a big rig! - cindy coffey
Oct 2016 - $22.00
Very scenic place with some nice hiking trails. Swimming, canoeing also. Our shower house wasn't the cleanest, but the water controls worked fine. The B loops are very small, but adequate...just be patient backing in. - Bob806
Apr 2015 - $1.00
This park is now closed. Do not be misled by the web site that is still up or the phone number that is still working. The sign for the park has a small "closed" sign affixed to it. - nanzhere
Jan 2015 - $20.00
We had a great experience, stayed several nights. Easy off/on I 40. Close to Arkansas River for great fishing. Free laundromat was a big plus. - Emerald City
Jan 2014 - $20.00
Excellent park for easy access to Ozark, AR and surrounding area. Close to fishing, fuel, food, and stores. - Emerald City
May 2013 - $24.00
The campground is not laid out very well. It is a good area for ATVing. We stayed 3 nights, and it was quiet. There is a16 mile climb from I-40. Just take your time on the curves, and you'll be fine. - OKPat
Sep 2012 - $27.00
Located approximately 18 miles north of I-40 on 23. Road is up and over a couple small mountains & was pretty narrow in most places with several very sharp switchbacks. Was a pretty strenuous climb for our older RV. Campground itself was OK even though no sewer. All the sites are shaded but need some upgrading in the form of leveling and gravel /paving. Great for small campers or small rigs and for tents. If you want to really get away from it all this might be a good choice. Could not get a wireless signal up here. - Rizzles LaRue
May 2017 - $9.00
A very nice park on the banks of the Arkansas River, next to a dam and lock that provided some nice sights of a barge going upriver. Sites are spacious and well-shaded. We made reservations online some few weeks before and everything was in order when we arrived. The staff at the office was especially friendly and helpful and we wished that our plans for a one night stay could have been extended! The sites are spacious and practically perfectly level. Water and electricity. No wifi. Dump station on the way out. Everything was peaceful and convenient. There were a number of other campers there, but it was really quiet. - Piperjim
Feb 2017 - $20.00
Wonderful campground with spacious, asphalt level site. Nice pole to hang a lantern on. Covered picnic table and a fire ring. LOTS of room between sites. As others have said - lots of trees - we had site F16 and were able to get satellite TV great! Showers are in a typical bathhouse type setting. Clean and adequate - nothing fancy but fine for us. The only drawback was that all the sites are back-in sites. We had fun watching the barges go through the locks on the dam. - Lynn and Linda
Jul 2016 - $20.00
What a great find for a great value. There are very few amenities here but it's $20 per night and what a great view. While we were entering, we had some issues navigating because the back in site was across from someone who parked on the street, but it was easily resolved by that same neighbor who helped direct us in the front while one of us were in the back. The view was great, the people were great, the park was clean and quiet. The site was incredibly large! We would definitely stay here again if we ever happen to be in the Ozarks. The only negative was no sewer but not a problem if you're only staying for a brief time. There's a dump station but it isn't exactly ideal for big rigs. - Kamnel
Nov 2012 - $22.00
Not too bad of a spot to just stay the night. Not that easy to get to. While late November might be the off season, the bathrooms were a disaster. The only saving grace was that it did have hot water. - AndrewPM
Aug 2012 - $22.00
Before I give my review, it should be noted that there is a bridge with a weight limit of 13 tons that has to be crossed before reaching the park. There are no signs to warn you about the weight limit prior to reaching the bridge. So, some of the larger diesel pushers may not want to venture to this park. We stayed at this park for one night, but would have stayed longer if we were not on a schedule. I believe we were the only transients the night we stayed, but there were several sites that appeared to be occupied full-time. We didn't make use of any of the facilities, but I did notice there was a laundry room. There is no on-site manager, so you select your site and pay by putting money in an envelope and dropping it in a slotted box by the laundry room. The highway is close, but we didn't notice any traffic sounds since we had our air conditioners running. If you're just passing through and don't want to unhook your tow vehicle, there are four long pull-through sites with 50 amp service close to the entrance. There are other 50 amp sites as well. The park has both back-ins and pull-throughs. It's a no frills park, was quiet when we were here, but quite pleasant and definitely off the beaten path. Except for a few hundred yards of gravel road just before the entrance, the road leading to the park has been paved. - Guinness
Jun 2012 - $17.00
Nice place, has some treed spots, some pull throughs. Paved and level. Be sure to follow directions on web site as that way you will avoid a bridge with 8 foot clearance. Wi-Fi is our only complaint: slow to nonexistent, but it did improve on our last day. Had some problem with the rig, the owner recommended McGaughs in Springdale for repairs. They were very helpful and accommodating. Were here a week and would stay again. - runamuka
Aug 2016 - $27.00
Sites are gravel (very little in some sites) and are not level. Hookups are at back of site so we were unable to leave our tow vehicle hooked up. CG is very close to I-40 and there is a lot of noise. This CG is convenient for a 1 night stay but I would not like to be here for more than overnight. Tow vehicle had to be parked in front of our motor home. - Grammy8
Jun 2016 - $29.00
We stayed here on our way home. The lots are angled, making it easy for us to get into. There was quite a bit of highway noise. The lots are long and they have Wi-Fi, but it was spotty. The bathrooms were tidy, and we had phone service. We enjoyed our stay, but we will probably find one a little further from the highway to avoid the noise next time. - lougreene67
Apr 2016 - $29.00
This is a nice campground. They have some nice long pull thru sites that allow big rigs to stay hooked up. They have 50 Amp FHU available. The park is older but clean and tidy. Roads and pads are gravel with grass but very narrow spaces. ATT & Verizon work well. Plenty of clear sky for satellite set up. Restrooms are three unisex cubicle and are clean. No train but some Hwy noise. Free WiFi works well. Park was full as only two sites available when we arrived at 1PM and some later arrivals were turned away. Many extended stay which looked like local workers. The park was tidy and quiet. Fast foods, restaurants and Walmart nearby.
Will stay again. - TedandJan
Nov 2016 - $20.00
We were very disappointed in this location. Perhaps another time would have been better. We arrived around the time of an ATV weekend event which created a dusty, dirty environment, trash piles still left, hordes of flies, mice getting into the trailer. The ATV's are loud and can be running any time of the day or night around the campground. Cell service nearly impossible even though we were told it was good. Staff was friendly. - Heiniger
Nov 2013 - $10.00
When we were here in November, there were about a dozen campers, hunters, motorcyclists, ATV'ers, and boaters in the park. The park is a little raw, but incredibly fun. It is well run, has spaces with serious privacy, and great views. Really nice people. - TW Day
