Camping spots are nicely spaced and wooded. Area is beautiful. Trails are nice. Great for a family walk but probably too short for a serious trail hiker. Trail to the river is paved with benches along the way. The park was very clean and would definitely Camp here again. Wi-Fi worked okay. Had good Verizon signal. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We went and dug for diamonds at the crater. Our kids are 5 and 7 and lost interest in a large dirt field in the open sun pretty quickly. Can't blame them. Was kind of a neat experience but seemed overpriced for what it was. In the summer there looks to be a splash park for the kids. The park itself was lovely and would definitely Camp there again. But will probably skip mining for diamonds next time.

Spot 13 required very little work to level our trailer but the drop off from the trailer pad to the "sitting area" was very sudden and right at the steps of the trailer if you parked it to get the slide out safely extended. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed just one night in a full-hookup site and have stayed here numerous times. We had planned to stay for 3 nights, but had RV repair to do in Texarkana, which caused cancellation of the rest of our reservation. We were credited with a senior discount at check-in, and the manager refunded one of our days when I called to notify them of needing to cancel. The park is heavily treed and pretty. Access to the diamond field and waterpark area is walkable from the campground. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed at the park four days two of which were spent prospecting for diamonds. Much hard work but no guaranteed reward for a fee of $10/day. However, the park is pleasant, the staff is friendly, an on-site restaurant/grill has good food at fair prices and for an extra $10 a pool/water park play area is welcome after a day in the sun. Lots of shops in town featuring geologic specimens and all manner of antiques but few restaurants or entertainment venues. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Coming from Little Rock on I-30 one should exit near Prescott AR and go north on SR 29 to SR 301 West which will eventually take you right to the Park entrance on your way to Murfreesboro. This route was being resurfaced at the time of our stay.

June 2018 - $38.00/night.  What a beautiful park! We stayed seven nights in space 25.  It was more than long enough to accommodate our 40' coach and Jeep.  The pad was concrete and the lot was well shaded.  A picnic table, a tent pad, a grill, and a gravel and concrete patio area made it even more welcoming.  The trees and underbrush are thick.  While it is beautiful, it limits the amount of wind coming through.  It was perfectly still outside of our coach.  It was also very hot and humid.  The park has very nice facilities including bathrooms, laundry facilities, an amphitheater, a pavilion (actually a building with walls and a ceiling), an ADA accessible hiking trail, and work out equipment along the trail.   The diamond mine and water park are within a comfortable walking distance.  We didn't try out the water park, but it was pretty popular with other families.  We would stay here again! We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects average of 3 days with Senior Discount applied to nights 2 & 3. Normal site cost for full hookup is $34 per night. Sites vary in length so be sure your assigned site is long enough for your rig. Camp sites are paved and mostly level. Some sites have tent areas too. Roads are paved. Staff thought larger Motorhomes could not negotiate the turn by site 39 but we walked the road and did not see it as an issue. No OTA TV. Verizon signal 2 bars so usable but slow. Laundry had 3 washers and 4 dryers. Wash load cost not posted but appeared to be $1. Dryers were 25 cents for 6 minutes. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Diamond mine charge is $10 per day per adult. $5 for children under 12. You can bring your own tools, wagon, buckets, screens, etc or rent what you need/want there at the mine for a charge not elaborated on until you have already paid your entrance fee. The rental rates depend on what you rent rather than a flat charge. Nice 1.2 mile River trail very nice, half paved and half dirt trail. Also a trail from the diamond mine area but not accessible unless you have paid to get into the mine area. Nice wildlife viewing area with blind.

No issues backing into the site. Unhooked and parked the truck sideways in front of the trailer. The site is mostly level. Site includes downset area with fire ring, table and 2 tent sites. The campground and bathhouse are very clean. Short walk to the diamond field visitor center over a gravel trail. Nice hiking/biking trail loop by the river with 2 fitness stations along the way. The trail is paved to the river and dirt the rest of the loop. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We love Arkansas State Parks. The sites are on concrete with plenty of room to park your vehicle. Picnic table, fire ring & lantern hook area. Lots of room between sites. My only complaint is that they didn't clean our fire ring. But it rained the first night & the 2nd night we were to tired. So into Arkadelphia for shopping. Theres a little grocery store in town. Mine for diamonds was a blast. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground also provided a washateria/laundry which was nice as well. Any of the sites on the outside of the loop are nice and provide a little more privacy, with 37 and 38 being down on the far loop out of the way. 16 and 17 are also nice locations as they backup to a forest area and a gully. We went into the Diamond Mine to search, not dig. Most pay the 60-70 bucks to rent all the gear, sifter, buckets, shovel, and such. Trust me it is just as easy to walk around and check down from the wash area and not spend time washing dirt. Also interesting, and I knew this before we paid our $10 a person to dig/walk around, was that they only till up the ground once a month. And if it rains the night before, then they can't till it up, so you don't get fresh turn until next month. Yeah I think you see where I am going with this: you are basically sifting through dirt that 1000's and 1000's of other people have sifted through. I know you are wondering: DID YOU FIND A DIAMOND? No. Some rocks I thought were diamonds, and had the staff look at them, but they were not. I kept them anyway. A nice side trip is to run up to Lake Greeson north of Murfreesboro and a little to the west. That's a nice way to waste a few hours. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Check site information on ReserveAmerica, as some sites are small and can't accommodate all rigs. Pets are allowed into the mine field. If you are hunting diamonds, get there when they open. If you happen to be there and it rained the night before (light rain is best), check around the trees and areas that most don't dig in and look for some semi-shiney, glassy looking rocks. They will look waxy, and a little rain washes off the dirt.

We enjoyed this campground so much that we stayed an additional night. We had to move to a new site for the added night, but we didn't care. The roads and campsites are paved. Both of our campsites were mostly level. They are full hook up. There are great woods and hiking trails around the campground. Out campsites were shaded. We loved hunting for diamonds. Be aware that most folks DO NOT find any diamonds, and those that are found are tiny. So, even though we left without a sparkler for my finger, we had a ton of fun looking. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great state park, the roads are all paved as well as the sites. Sites are level with great patio areas. There is no TV, I could not even get a PBS station, and I thought they came in everywhere. Great walking trails, and of course the Diamond hunting. The reason I gave it below grade was the WiFi they say they have. Their WiFi was not allowing internet access for some reason. I went and told the desk folks about the problem. I was told someone would come and fix the problem. Well that never happened, thus the not so good grade. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A 1000 yr old Indian village has been excavated and available for viewing near Murfreesboro. A short drive away is Washington State Park where the historical town is available for exploring with recreations via actors of loomers, blacksmiths, etc. Several champion trees are in the area. If so inclined the Crater of Diamonds state park allows you to search for diamonds and keep what you find. Unique shops in Murfreesboro with some stocked by local artists.

This park is a true gem (pun intended haha). Clean, very wooded, friendly staff, nice trails, etc.. most sites level and paved with gravel tent pads behind them. Bathhouse clean and even had decent Wi-Fi (AT&T). We would def stay again. No luck at the diamond mine but did find some quartz and crystals. Our 6 yr old got bored after about 2 hrs but they also have Crystal mine about hr away that she really enjoyed more. Bring supplies, groceries as no big stores close.
