This is a great state park, the roads are all paved as well as the sites. Sites are level with great patio areas. There is no TV, I could not even get a PBS station, and I thought they came in everywhere. Great walking trails, and of course the Diamond hunting. The reason I gave it below grade was the WiFi they say they have. Their WiFi was not allowing internet access for some reason. I went and told the desk folks about the problem. I was told someone would come and fix the problem. Well that never happened, thus the not so good grade. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A 1000 yr old Indian village has been excavated and available for viewing near Murfreesboro. A short drive away is Washington State Park where the historical town is available for exploring with recreations via actors of loomers, blacksmiths, etc. Several champion trees are in the area. If so inclined the Crater of Diamonds state park allows you to search for diamonds and keep what you find. Unique shops in Murfreesboro with some stocked by local artists.

This park is a true gem (pun intended haha). Clean, very wooded, friendly staff, nice trails, etc.. most sites level and paved with gravel tent pads behind them. Bathhouse clean and even had decent Wi-Fi (AT&T). We would def stay again. No luck at the diamond mine but did find some quartz and crystals. Our 6 yr old got bored after about 2 hrs but they also have Crystal mine about hr away that she really enjoyed more. Bring supplies, groceries as no big stores close. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sites numbered a lil weird in our opinion but we thought sites 1-3 and ones around 28-35 the best views and level. Overall a quiet wonderful park whether or not visiting the diamond fields.

Nice state park to stay in. There is a wonderful wheelchair accessible walk through the woods down tot he river that is exceptionally nice. The WIFI was so so. The closer you park to the bathrooms the better the signal. The roads are paved, wide and well laid out. Our site was spacious and paved and we liked it. People come here to try their hand at diamond prospecting so we did as well. We had a lot of fun. The gift shop was great and we were able to get several presents for our grandchildren. We didn't get any diamonds. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Near the road into the park on a roundabout are a bunch of shops that sell minerals/antiques/vintage at the roundabout. If you get a chance go wander around. We found several lovely treasures of all styles and quality.

We just returned from 3 nights at the Crater of Diamonds State Park Campground. We found the campground to be very quiet. It's a good place to kick back and relax. The diamond mine is a unique opportunity to get dirty doing something with a small (tiny) chance of being exciting.

The camp is worth the trip if you like to hang out in the quiet woods. AT&T cell service was consistently at only 1 bar. There was no wifi or TV available. The individual sites are spacious back-ins with paved parking, a paved area for a picnic table, a lantern pole fire ring and a large tent pad. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Good luck in the mine. For us it was $8 each donated. I'd probably do it once more if we were back in that area. Groceries in the town's store are a bit expensive.

The Park's staff was very friendly and helpful. It was clean and well maintained. The campsites were spaced far enough apart to allow for privacy yet close enough together so that you could speak with your neighbors. The hookups were great and trouble free. Everything worked well.

I chose a site at the very back of the campground thinking that there would be little to no traffic. While that was true, I didn't pay close enough attention to the map to realize that there was a highway running beside the park right below where our site was. It was only an issue when a truck with an engine brake came by. Otherwise, it was one of the quietest campsites I've ever stayed at.

The Park staff picks up trash at least twice a day from designated trash can sites.

Everything was reasonably priced. We dug for diamond and while we didn't find any, we had a great time.

We really enjoyed our stay and have it on the list to visit again one day. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

the campground was spacious and with plenty of space between sites. Our site was very level side to side... it appeared that most were. bathrooms were good. I have one pet peeve that I am going to mention,,,, I HATE parking under 60 ft pine trees. You can always look up and see two or three dead limbs barely clinging to the tree 50 ft above your camper/car. So, the fast growing tall pines should be removed from hanging directly over campsites once the slower growing hardwoods get established.... Anyway, the best part of the diamond field (for us) was the historical displays that discussed the history of the area. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We have two children (6 & 8) and had a fun time hunting diamonds for two, half days. In an effort to avoid standing in the hot sun on the diamond field, we took the kids to the Dinosaur Dig (by the Pawn shop on the main drag). They have an indoor sandpit with polished stones throughout. the kids get to keep what they find and had a great time for approx $9 each. I recommend it if you have little ones.

Another good example of a Arkansas State Park. The sites are spacious, level and well maintained. It's only a couple of miles from Murphysboro if you need some supplies or a good meal. And there is always the diamond mind if you like. Great place to relax and enjoy. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I felt this camp was somewhat overpriced since you can get beautiful Corps of Engineers sites in the area for half that price, but if you want to be as close as possible to the diamond beds, this is it. You pay extra for the location. The sites are widely spaced, lots of shade, and really long so should be good for big rigs. Each has a paved "patio" with a picnic table plus a gravel tent platform. The site could've been cleaner. There was trash in our fire pit and in others and lots of cigarette butts. Not the park's fault that people are slobs, but for $32 a day I would think they would clean up. Also, the shower left a lot to be desired. No curtain on the actual shower (just on the outside of the space) so it was real hard to keep water from splashing on you towel or clean clothes and no place to put shower products except on the floor. There was mud all over the floor of one of the showers, but, again, that's the fault of the slobs...I don't expect the campground to clean after everyone! People, really, clean up after yourselves and throw away your garbage! There are garbage cans and dumpsters all over! If I come back, I might stay again, but would also consider something cheaper in the area. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't count on getting much done in Murfreesboro. Only about three places to eat and the grocery store is ok, but has a pretty limited selection. I'd bring all my groceries with me.

This was one of the best state parks we have ever visited. The roads and sites had ample room to navigate our motorhome and each site came with an additional tent pad. Additionally, the sites are level with a picnic table, fire ring, lantern holder and BBQ grill which I notice many campgrounds are no longer including. There is plenty to do here with the biggest draw being digging for diamonds. This facility is top notch. You can rent or bring your own equipment and the staff is very helpful. On those hot days, they have a small water park for the kids and a food truck is available during season. A gorgeous paved trail takes you down by the Little Missouri river. The only drawback is do not plan on television or wifi unless you are using your cell as a mobile hotspot. We stayed in site 17 which had great access to walk up to dig for diamonds. If you are not toading, be careful as to your site number. If you get further out it will be a very long walk back to camp after a long day in the diamond field. We will be returning. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

Paved roads and parking pad. Site #18 is a long back-in site. Close to the visitor's center and the Crater to search for diamonds. A unique experience that was worth the trip. The campground was very full, so make reservations to ensure you get a site. Our Verizon air card worked well. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

Large sites. Lots of trees and shade. We were able to get satellite. Sites have gravel out the front door of the RV. It had rained so ours was a mud hole. They could not move us. They did add a little gravel to the worst spot. The walking trail was nice. We saw deer. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is the best park if you are staying in this area. We had a little trouble finding a site for our 40' even though we had made a reservation well in advance. We had to park our tow almost on top of the picnic table after forcing our coach on a 40' pad. It worked out okay. The park roads are paved as are the sites. Water and 50 amps were good. Lots of trees so bring a good book. I gave the park a 9 because I always take a point away for not recycling. We will stay here again. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent park - one of the best. We don't travel with children so we can't comment on children's amenities. The sites are spacious and well spaced, and there are many trees affording privacy and shade. We stayed here while visiting the Crater of Diamonds State Park. In fact, the office for the campground is located inside the Crater of Diamonds park visitors center. You can walk to the state park from the campground if you want, but we drove. You get pretty tired after a hard day of finding diamonds and a ride back to the camper feels good! A caution - this park fills up quickly so make reservations well in advance. Campers who pulled in after we did were turned away because they had no reservations and the campground was fully booked. Our back-in site was reasonably level (even though the park is in the Arkansas hills) and had a picnic table, grill and a fire pit. The picnic table was located on a concrete pad. Checkout time was 3 PM which was also nice. Our only negative comment - the beautiful, plentiful trees make satellite reception all but impossible and the campground does not have cable. So, turn off the TV and enjoy this beautiful area. We stayed at site 14. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent campground! The staff was great. The park was clean and well laid out. We stayed two nights in December and had about 5 other campers in the park. Very quiet. Mining for diamonds is messy work, so bring clothes and shoes you don't mind getting VERY dirty. We would absolutely return. We camped at Crater of Diamonds State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
