Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $10.00
This beautiful grass and tree-shaded city park is 12 miles south of Murfreesboro and Crater of Diamonds State Park in Southwestern Arkansas. The back-in sites are on a big paved parking area adjacent to one of the ball fields, with shade trees behind the sites. Electric/water hookups, dump station, walking paths, paved interior roads. See the famed "Dinosaur Track" which now sits at the far side of the park next to the pond, which was found nearby in 1883, and the original framed newspaper article telling all about its discovery hangs in the park office. (I must say it was a bit of a letdown, as it is only one track, not a row of prints, and is very badly eroded from exposure to the elements.) Still, it is a very pleasant place to hang out for a few days, $10 per night, $60 per week when we were there in March 2008. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area. We camped at Nashville City Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
