This is a beautiful state park. Camping area is small, and many of the sites are far from level both front to back, and side to side. There are no sewers, which is common in our parks, but the dump site is clean, and very well laid out. Electrical hookup and water were both very good. The restroom, showers, and entire area is very well maintained. The interior road is narrow, and there is a small turn around at the end of the road. I had to back and forth 3 times with only a 27 foot trailer. Some sites are very roomy, others are very close. I had to ask my neighbor to move his truck to get into my site. #12. With all those qualifiers, it is a beautiful setting, wildlife abundant, and very fresh and clean. We camped at Crowley's Ridge State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Jonesboro and Paragould for shopping. Jonesboro is the home of Arkansas State University, with sporting and cultural events. Lots of chain and local restaurants in both Paragould and Jonesboro. Sams Club and a large mall (The Mall at Turtle Creek) has all the shopping you could want.

The campground is small, only 35 sites total. 17 tent sites and 18 camper sites. We stayed in site 10. It is almost right across the street from the bathroom shower house. This building IS NOT air conditioned. The sewer line stopped up and backed up Friday night and filled the floor with sewage. Maintenance worked on it then called roto rooter to fix it. The maintenance man said the clay pipe lines were installed in the 50's and were deteriorating badly. But I can't blame it all on them though. Because some of the stuff that people flushed should have never been flushed. Idiots! Most of the sites are pretty level. I only had to use a 2x6 under one side to level. Site 8 was sloping to the back of the drive. Site 9 was down a steep hill and not much room for a camper of any size. But tents used it while we were there but water and mud ran though this site bad and the electric box is on the wrong side. The park was very clean, hardly any litter. Trash cans are everywhere. They are constantly mowing and weed-eating. The park employees are very friendly and helpful. The swim lake had 3 lifeguards in swimming area. Site 1 is pull-through the rest are back in. If you have a trailer longer than 22 ft. you might want to call before booking. The hiking trails are very good. If your into geocaching there is one on one of the trails neat find. Lots of wildlife running around too. Paragould is about 12 miles away and there is Lowes, Walmart and Hays grocery stores there plus tons of restaurants, fast and sit down. Most sites are pretty shady, but not all. I will stay here again. We camped at Crowley's Ridge State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Paragould is 12 miles away. There are antique stores, and lots of other shopping too. Jonesboro is about 18 miles away and has even more stuff than Paragould. Just watch the signs to the park and Highway 168 because they are right where you need to turn and not before. Roads in park are a little narrow.

Most sites are fairly level, some might require a bit of leveling. Bathroom very clean. Sites are reasonably close to one another, even though the park itself is quite large. Several nice hiking trails. We camped at Crowley's Ridge State Park in a Motorhome.

Gas/diesel prices were especially low in nearby Paragould, significantly lower than in most of the rest of the state.

Great one night stopover. Lots of amenities for a family, including a swim area and playground. Group sites for large gatherings available.

History buffs will enjoy the history behind the park. It was a CCC project with a vision.

Park staff very friendly. We camped at Crowley's Ridge State Park in a Motorhome.

I took the camper for the post-winter trip to this park and was pleasantly surprised. There are plenty of spots, with enough space between yourself and your neighbor. All the parking spots were equipped with water and 30amp service. I would caution that not all sites are level, some with some major dips, and uneven surfaces. You should call the office and check which one would work best for your length of trailer. There are plenty of walking trails nearby and a swim lake is also inside the park.

One word of caution, cell phone service is about nil in the park, I found this out and actually moved sites to get better reception (only 2 bars!) to stay in touch with the outside world! There was a problem with the water at my site, and the park superintendent came by and made it right. Very impressed with the service. We camped at Crowley's Ridge State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice state park with lots of trees and nice hiking trails. The sites are not too close but most of them seem to be made to back in from the direction you go on the way out. The only draw back to this was we had to unhook the toad because the turn around site was not big enough to make it without backing up. The showers were great and the bathroom and showers were clean. The night we were there they had medium size storm cells move through the area and there were tornado warnings out and the ranger came by about 9 pm to make sure that we were aware of the warning and advised us that the bathroom/shower was the storm shelter. It was quiet with little light pollution. Verizon Wi-Fi worked but was extremely slow. All and all nice park but it is about 10 miles outside of Paragould if you need to run into town for anything. We camped at Crowley's Ridge State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful, wooded campground. Managed to get in our back-in site for our 38 ft. without problems. Park has one pull through site. Much cleanup still going on after the ice storm. We camped at Crowley's Ridge State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park for family reunion. But be careful with a big rig fifth wheel. Had to back all the way out. Road is a one lane road, that is used for both directions, ie: very narrow. We camped at Crowley's Ridge State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
