We've stayed here three times and although it's a pretty campground, getting there is challenging. The road from Black Rock to Powhaten and then on to the park is narrow, winding and rough. The roads within the park are also fairly narrow. The sites are well spaced and most are long enough for almost any rig. The concrete pads are in rough condition and few of them are very level but each site has a fire ring, table and grill. Our surge protector system disconnected us a couple of times, first time in a long time, so their 50 amp service in the site (#81) we were in had a problem. The views from the sites in the E loop of the lake are great and I'm sure this is a nice place to be in the summer. We camped at Lake Charles State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I am here now after extending my 2 day stay to 4 days. With AR senior discount price is $21 weekends, 14 weekdays. My location is on the lake: much space between campsites, long dog walks, very quiet and peaceful. Park rangers are helpful and friendly. This is a very good place to get away, bird watch, fish, or do nothing. We camped at Lake Charles State Park in a Motorhome.

Just an overnight stay. Had a site right on the water, which was electric and water only. Was a large, shaded site with 30 amp. Only 1 good TV channel with antenna. It was a little hard to level. We camped at Lake Charles State Park in a Motorhome.
