This state park has 2 sections, Russellville Area and Dardanelle Area. The Russellville Area is the only one that offers 50 amp FHU, but we drove through the other park to see how it compared and it was really nice too, but 30 amp and no sewer. Since we wanted to stay for 1 week, we opted for the 50 amp FHU section. Our site was in Camp Area A, which is set up nicely for larger rigs and our site was right on the shore of Lake Dardanelle. This is a beautiful park, and most of the sites in Camp Area A are right on the water, with picture perfect sunsets. The sites are paved, reasonably spaced, with a nice gravel patio area, picnic table and a post for lanterns. Bathrooms were reasonably clean and the staff were very friendly. The visitor center has over 7,000 gallons of fresh water aquariums featuring fish found in the lake, a live bee hive, and other interesting exhibits. The park is a short drive to downtown Russellville for quick access to shopping, movie theater. and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again, but would suggest to anyone wishing to come to make a reservation. This is a very popular summer vacation destination and with good reason. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like to walk or bike, Bona Dea Trails and Sanctuary is just minutes from Lake Dardanelle State Park, with the entrance on Lakefront Drive. Some of the trails are paved and some are more rustic for hikers. Because the day we went it was hot, it was nice to ride our bikes under the canopies of the trees and we packed a lunch to eat in the picnic area.

The camp host was very friendly. The site was reserved and had a tag with our name to ensure we had the correct site. We had site 11, which like most of the sites, was not a pull through. The back in site was a bit tough to get into as the road is quite narrow and the sites across from us were full, with extra vehicles parked in front of their trailers. Our site was waterfront, but next time we would prefer one of the even numbered sites which are lakefront, specifically site 16 which is a pull through. The sites are asphalt with a grill, fireplace, picnic table and gravel tent site. Mature shade trees and grass separate the sites. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park on Lake Dardanelle! Only problem we had was getting into the space. They rented us one that they said would fit our 36' motor home--no way! So they found us another one and the maintenance man helped us maneuver into the space. We took a walk the next morning along the lake and around the grounds--just beautiful! We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Motorhome.

Booked reservation in advance due to late arrival. Site 16, right next to the marina, had a reserved sign on it upon our arrival. Site was a pull through right on the water which made for easy departure after an overnight stay. Since we were in transit we did not use any of the amenities. However the entire camping area appeared very clean and well kept. All of the hook ups worked fine and the staff was very friendly upon our check out. I am sure we will be back in the spring. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Our site was large and level, full hookups and good 50 amp service. There is plenty of room to maneuver a big rig. Our site #8 backed to the lake and the sunsets were beautiful every night. We had partial shade, some sites had more shade and some had full sun. Staff was friendly and there are alot of activities in the park. We rode our bikes throughout the park. Nice gift shop with some snacks. We would definitely return, one of the nicest state parks we have ever camped in. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a popular fishing spot, there were always alot of boaters on the lake early and catching alot of fish. We camped here so we could hike the Hawksbill Crag Trail, we were not disappointed, it was as beautiful as the pictures we had seen.

One of our favorite places to camp. The A loop features full hookups, but only about 16 or so, but it juts out into the water with a full view of the lake. This park is very pristine and clean and there are stores about 10 minutes away in Russellville. The B loop has some nice areas as well, but only 30 amp and is not "out in the water" like the A loop. Note: there is a nuclear power plant across the lake in full view and you'll notice signs that say "nuclear evaculation route" outside the park. This lake has wonderful views of the mountains, like Mt. Nebo as well. We would go back in a minute. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Motorhome.

This was one of the highlights of our visit to the USA. The camp hostess could not have been more friendly and helpful. It was extremely hot and we were in a tent and she lent us an outdoor fan which enabled us to have a comfortable night. Highly recommended and a beautiful site with lovely lake swimming. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Tent.

We camped here in a tent in lot 49. Our spot was very shady and had full hook ups for only $20 a night. Our favorite thing was the visitors center. It is awesome for old and young. There are some huge fish tanks featuring fish found in the lake. There is also a touch pond where kids can pet a turtle. The bathrooms were very clean and had excellent a/c. Each shower is for one individual and not a shared bathroom, which I loved! The swimming area was fair and there was a lot if debris but maybe it is because of the recent large amount of rainfall. The thing that I didn't like is that there is a Nuclear power plant right across the lake. We had a unobstructed view if the tower puffing smoke into the air all the time. It made me a little nervous about swimming here. Overall it is a great park but probably won't be back anytime soon. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Tent.

My wife and I spent 3 very pleasant nights here. The campground was clean and well groomed, staff were friendly and helpful,

and from #15 in A section we had a nice view of the lake and marina.

My interest was birding, and we saw many colorful birds including white pelicans, red winged blackbirds, blue jays, red headed WPs, Baltimore orioles, scissor tailed flycatchers, and many crows, turkey and black vultures, and Canada geese pairs with babies. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Motorhome.

We enjoy staying in State Parks as we travel around the country and Arkansas SPs are some of the best, Lake Dardanelle State Park is outstanding. We stayed in loop, "A" which is a full hook up campground with 50 amp service . It is surrounded by the Ozarks and we had the lake on three sides. The Welcome Center has a number of freshwater aquariums with great hiking trails. The park is well maintained and the sites are large and open. The price reflects that we are non-resident seniors staying during the week. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is such a wonderful state park. It reflects the money that Arkansas has placed in their state parks. Fishing, swimming, boating and hiking are all there to be had. They often times have a proffessional Bass tournenmant at the park so it get's a little congested during the day, but the park at night is always quite. This is an excellent place for families and couples. Russellville is a short drive down the road so their are plenty of places to stock up on supplies. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice state park. Clean and well maintained. We camped in Area C and had a nice lakefront site, large back in site. Rate reflects access America price. Would recommend to anyone and we would stay here again. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed in during our 30+ years of camping. Many times I steer clear of state parks since many have been left to run down due to budget cuts. You can tell that they have spent money on this park to make the campground nice. The sites were level, large, and shady. We were right on the lake and had a separate "sitting" area. It was truly enjoyable (except for the mayflies which was something new for us). We don't normally go back to the same place twice, but it would be tempting here. During the week, the rate was only $25 for full hook-up. A very nice place to stay. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Motorhome.

This is one of the nicest State Park facilities I have had the pleasure of staying in and I have stayed in many across multiple states. Beautiful, serene, well manicured property, stunning lake views... and very quiet. It is amazing that we find ourselves almost alone in this wonderful park. Access to the town of Russellville (for groceries) is so easy and close and access to/from I-40 so convenient. Parked here in our 40ft Motorhome. We camped at Lake Dardnelle State Park in a Motorhome.
