We have stayed at many COE parks around the country, and this park is one of the best. We were in site 16. The concrete pad was wide, long and level. The space between sites is very large. We had a covered picnic table. There were no issues with the 50 amp electric, or water connection. Water pressure was 60#. There were plenty of trees for shade, but they did block our rooftop dish. However, we had plenty of yard area to find a spot for our portable dish that did have a view to all the satellites. Even though this park is on the banks of the Arkansas river, we did not have a problem with mosquitos. The cell signal for AT&T was strong, as was the Verizon signal for our mifi. We were only here overnight, but wish we had booked it for a longer stay. We paid $10 with our senior access pass discount. We will return to this park the next time we are in the area. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here before and really like the laid back atmosphere. The park is very quiet, the sites are really big and are paved and you are right on the lake. Sites are back ins. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You can put your boat in the water, and fish. Walmart is near by, all kinds of food places to choose from. There is good RV repair place 1 and 1/2 miles from the park on State HWY 7. They worked on my motor home last year and they were very good and reasonable. Their labor rate was $75.00 an hour.

Really like the area. Our picture window looked out on the river and dam. There were pelicans, sea gulls, and bald eagles in the river and I saw a deer herd and a red fox in the park. The camp sites are level and clean. If they had sewer hook ups it would be a 10. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the visitor center near the lock and dam. The best burger in town used to be Whattaburger but in my opinion has been bested by CJ's just north of I-40. Check out the state park (Dardenelle State Park) while there, the visitor center is interesting with natural displays and large aquariums with big fish.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart located in Dardanelle about 6 miles from camp ground. There is a small RV sales and service called Happy Days, about 3 miles from the park. They worked on my motor home and had everything fixed with in and hour. Their service was excellent.

We stayed one night and wished we could have stayed longer. GPS guided us right to the campground. The hosts were great and provided great area info for places to eat. The site was a nice back in right on the river, level with good services and with nice shade and good spacing between units. The facilities were spotless and everything was neat and tidy. There were deer right in the campground throughout our stay. A bonus was getting to see a tugboat and barges go through the locks on the river. The only drawback, if you can call it that, was a little bit of noise or audible hum from industry in the area but it didn't bother us. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Fifth Wheel.

C-Js Butcher Boy Burgers is a great retro diner with good burgers! Also, take a drive from the park (turn left out of park) to the look out above the dam and locks, and there is a nice rec area with disc golf there too.

We really enjoyed this park. It was quiet and we had a view of the river to be able to see the barges go by. A great place to rest and relax. Be sure to visit Russellville and stop for lunch at Feltners Whatta-Burger. Easy access to the park and good roads within. There is water and electric at each site. No WiFi. Sites are plenty long and level. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

We love COE campgrounds. Large level sites with cabanas over the tables. Beautiful view of the Arkansas River and the barges going and coming from the locks. Except for the loud humming (mentioned by others) it is a very good place to stay for a few days. Good Verizon service. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

Electric & water on the river for $10? I am loving these COE camps! Lots of space between sites. Very clean park. Dump station. The only negative was a constant " hum" of some sort emanating from what sounded like an industrial facility of some sort nearby. It was a bit irritating and I had trouble getting to sleep. But I'm a very light sleeper so I doubt everyone would be bothered. No- wi fi but good strong Verizon signal. Would still probably stay again and just use earplugs. :) We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Truck Camper.

I have to give this a 10 even though there's no sewer or Wi-Fi because it is so nice. Our rate is the senior 1/2 price rate. Our site was riverfront with a million dollar view, was very spacious, level, and with a parking spot beside the RV, so you don't need to factor in the car length when determining how long a site you need. The locks are within view and easy to walk to. There is a playground and a sand volleyball court. The host is very friendly, and the campground is very clean. We had very good Verizon cell service and hotspot Internet. We could not pick up a Dish Network satellite signal, probably due to the trees. Those with DirecTV had satellite. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

Highly recommend this campground, paved level lots, good water and electric with a dump station. Large sites. Some have covers over the picnic tables, fire pits, and some sites sit on the river bank. Relaxing and peaceful location. Lots of deer and birds in the area. The rate is with the Golden Eagle Pass. Could only get two TV stations on the antenna and satellite was blocked by trees. Some sites are in the open. Will come back if in the area again. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

I can't find a reason not to consider this a 10. There's not a bad site in the park. Very beautiful and quiet. One might not like it for the lack of sewer hookup or Wi-Fi but this is a campground, not a RV resort. Will definitely be back and looking forward to it. All sites level, we'll spaced and very easy to back into. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects senior 50% discount. Sites are level, well-spaced and the park was quiet. Some sites nicely shaded, others not quite so much. Cellphone reception was adequate (AT&T) but no over-air TV reception due to fairly heavy tree coverage in the park. Nice views of barges going up and down the river, and the lock and dam was within easy walking distance, so we got to see the lock gates opening up and a barge and tug just starting to come out of the lock. Fun! We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

A small well maintained park. Sites are large, level, paved and spaced to give maximum privacy. Sites have picnic table on cement slabs under a fixed shelter. Many sites are on the Arkansas River, but vegetation obstructs the view. Sites 20 and 21 have the best river view. Our site 34 was on the river, and the site faces SW. Restroom and showers are clean and well maintained. No hand soap in the men’s restroom. Cell signal (Verizon) was strong (4G). We had no problem receiving DTV signal. We camped for 4 nights. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Fifth Wheel.
