This is a very interesting park. It is on the banks of the Mississippi River and very nice to watch the boat traffic. Boats and barges pass all times during the day. The sites long with plenty of room to park the vehicle in front of the rig. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If the river is high or flooding then check the campground. It might be under water.

Enjoy watching the tug boats and barges from you campsite, even the ones on the 3rd row can see between others - or enjoy a bench on the water. Very clean, trash picked up at your site during the day, no additional charge for laundry (although only 2 sets). Site 52 has one of the very few fire rings. One of the worse parks for WiFi and for the "quality" of this park, it needs to be improved. As others wrote - very convenient to Memphis attractions OR to visit Johnny Cash's boyhood home in Dyess, AR (about 40 mi N). We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Park Staff recommended Ray's BBQ and it was delicious.

Great view of the mighty Mississippi. Very quiet, relaxing and great location for visiting Memphis without staying in all the traffic. Staff very accommodating. Wireless is very bad. Love this campground but a little pricey, I guess we are paying for view which makes it well worth it! We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Road is rough getting over to the campground but once we were there, we were impressed. Can not beat the view of the Mississippi River! If you want open area access for the satellite

TV, you might want to park in the 5th wheel section. Staff was helpful and allowed us to move over there from the tree lined motor home sites. Level, concrete with pad and table. Free laundry! New washers and dryers and it was a pleasant surprise. We loved the place and would come back again. We camped in a motor home. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Such a beautiful view watching the tugs and barges go up and down the river, we didn't even venture out. We only stayed one night but could have easily stayed longer.

Nice park directly on the Mississippi River. Our pull through site easily accommodated our 45' motorhome and vehicle. It faced the river and was within maybe 30 yards to the water. It's great entertainment to sit outside and watch the tugboats and barges travel the Mississippi. Easy 10 minute travel to downtown Memphis for dining and entertainment.

Sites and access roads are gravel, mostly level and with full hookups. Wifi is like all parks - terrible (unless you log in between midnight and 6:00am). Some sites are satellite tv friendly but trees prevented our access. Local tv channels are abundant. Site spacing is reasonable.

This is a good place to spend a few days in the Memphis area and we plan to return when we travel through that area again this fall. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

We love this park located right on the Mississippi River. You can choose from gravel or concrete drive thru sites. Sites are extra long, spacious and level. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. No cable but we got several stations with our antenna. Free wi-fi. Lots of room to walk the puppy dogs. Easy access off interstate. Close to Memphis sites. Our site was maybe 25 yards from the river. We loved watching the barge and paddle wheel boats pass by. So relaxing. Would stay here again definitely. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a gem located right on the Mississippi. Our site was waterfront on a level concrete pad. It was so nice to sit on the riverfront benches and watch the barges and occasional riverboat go by.
Staff was courteous and friendly. We met many people during our 5 night stay that stop here every year on their way traveling North or South.
Not a resort this is a casual place where you can enjoy sitting around the campfire at night.
If you go make sure you look up in the trees. There are a couple of great tree houses built on the property. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The park is right across the River from Memphis Tennessee. It is a 15 minute drive over the bridge to get downtown.
We enjoyed Beale Streets vibrant music history, the Rock and Soul Museum and the most unusual Bass Pro Shop we have ever seen. Fred found time for a Grizzlies game at the FedEx Forum. There is so much food to choose from. Central Barbeque was great for ribs and brisket and if you go to BB Kings say yes to the hush puppies.

A great, roomy park. Long concrete or graveled, level sites long enough to keep my 40' Class A towing 18' enclosed trailer attached. Great views of Mississippi River and barges up and down river. Friendly staff. Trash picked up all day everyday 9am to 6pm. Picnic table and grass with site. Trees provide some shade. Bathrooms and laundry available but I did not use, so can't review their status. I would stay here again. Park always seemed full so plan to make reservations. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy access to Memphis, TN and shopping locally for groceries.

The park in situated right on the bank of the Mississippi River, you can watch barges from your back window. The trailer section has the back window to the river and the motorhome has the front. We had a long pull thru that probably could accommodate two of our 40 ft fiver. The sky is open for satellite and the utilities were good. The washers and dryers are FREE and trash is picked up at your rig daily. The staff were just wonderful, from the office, to the escort, and all we encountered.

The GPS took us through West Memphis and the streets are pretty poor. Use instead the next exit to the east and the road is good and runs close to the entrance of the park. Shopping is nearby and Memphis, TN across the river has everything.
This is one the best stays in our three years of full timing. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A trip over to Memphis, TN should include lunch at Central BBQ near the Martin Luther King Memorial. The Bass Pro Shop at the Pyramid was just amazing. Of course, if you haven't been to Graceland, you should go!

This park is right on the Mississippi River and a beautiful place to stay. All sites have a water view, with spots for motor homes and trailers, so the main window overlooks the river. The sites are spacious and are gravel or concrete. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can take tours into Memphis and they will pick you up at the camp. The laundry was clean, and free, surprisingly. The machines were all relatively new as well. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in Memphis, tours galore!

We had a river-front campsite, enjoying the wonderful views of river traffic. We saw all sorts of barges go by during our 2 night stay. Our campsite was extremely small with no shade. The neighbors were very close, but it's really all about the river view, plus everyone there was really friendly. Because of it's location, it's clear the campground gets inundated with the river periodically, so everything appears kind of "rough." Still, the staff there are wonderfully attentive and helpful. The first night, the barges kept me awake, but the second night it was like music! I love visiting Memphis too. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The highlight for us in Memphis was the amazing National Civil Rights Museum at Lorraine Motel. We also enjoyed the elevator ride to the top of the Bass Pro Pyramid. Beale Street was fascinating, with all sorts of sounds, smells, and colorful people. We had a so-so lunch at BB King's, then later really enjoyed the sidewalk cafe of the Rum Boogies where we sat for a couple of hours enjoying draft beer and people watching.

We had a great view of the river. Our site was level, 50 amp worked well, it was an end site so lots of room but the sites were all fairly roomy. Easy access to all the entertainment and Elvis sites in TN. It was mostly quiet but we did hear tug boats occasionally during the day. The processing plants in the area were smelly when the wind blew our way. Looks like it floods but we were well above the river. Easy access to groceries and the freeway. A bit overpriced so we probably won't stay again. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Nice campground on the Mississippi River. Great place to stay while visiting Memphis. Sites were clean and well maintained, but pretty close together as most RV parks are. We were able to get many TV channels. Wi-Fi was very frustrating as we were constantly having to login. We chose a gravel pad, which was fine. They do not accept Passport America. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.

Granted it is a great location, and we had a "premium" site right on the Mississippi, but we were the only ones here. WiFi was horrible. No cable. On the road in my wife and I thought we were way off track. The dilapidated sign on the way in reminds me of Deliverance. The woman at the reception trailer was barely intelligible. Place was flooded with ponding water everywhere. Watching the Mississippi is what made this place bearable but if I return to Memphis, I'll probably use another park. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Enjoyed our time there and plan to be back. Spacious sites with good areas to walk the dog. Being on the river makes for a very relaxing atmosphere. However, be sure to call ahead, particularly in the spring, to make sure that there is no flooding. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.
