This park is right on the banks of the MIssissippi River and offers a great view of the river and the activity on the river; barges being pushed along by tugboats. In fact, there are benches all along the river bank for your viewing pleasure. The park itself has three rv circles. Two of those are right on the river and one is a little further back but still within easy walking distance to the river's edge. The sites are either concrete or gravel - and most have a bit of a drainage issue if it is raining as it was when we were there. About 75% of the sites were pull-throughs and two of the loops are tree-shaded; one loop has no trees. Our site was fairly level and the full-hook up utilities were well maintained and in good working order. A very pleasant surprise was a laundry room with 6 washers and 6 dryers - all fairly new and free of charge. The grounds are mowed and very well kept. We were able to connect with our satellite and had both Verizon and AT&T coverage. The Park is very convenient to activities in Memphis., but do yourself a favor and slow the pace long enough to linger at the River's edge to watch the barges and tugboats on this expansive river. We had a very pleasant stay here and would most definitely come back again. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Showers and rest rooms are a bit in short supply. Roads are gravel and create a good amount of dust. The rest of the story is that this campground sits right on the river and the great past time is to sit by the waters edge and enjoy the barge traffic on Old Man River. Utilities are fine and trash is picked up at your site 3 times a day. One word on calling in for a reservation for the first time. You might encounter a lady who's english isn't exactly the best. Due to her accent she may come across as being a bit curt over the phone but don't be fooled, she is very kind and helpful in person. This was not our first stay here and will return without a doubt. Don't come down 8th ave!!! Exit from I55 and follow the lead in signs to the south Loop. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Located on the banks of the Mississippi River just across the bridge from Memphis. Our site was located very close to the river. Other sites are further back. Huge field to exercise dogs that is kept mowed. No recreation or playground on site. Clean and free laundry. Check river levels before arriving because this campground is in a flood plain. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice big campground on the banks of the Mississippi. No traffic or train noise but you do get the humm of passing barges. Sites are long with lots of room between you & your neighbour. Sites are level with easy access to services. Laundry is free, but be considerate only a couple of washer & dryers. Easy access to downtown Memphis. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

The park was extremely busy. A sign at the park entrance indicated they were full but we went to the office anyway. They were able to offer us a spot. The site appeared to be fairly new and maybe used as an overflow area. It was a level pull through and offer plenty of room for our RV and tow vehicle. They do not offer cable TV but we had good reception on our roof top antenna. The park is located on the banks of the Mississippi River. Based on the number of rigs in the park, I would recommend a reservation. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

RV Park is located off I-55 and Hwy 38, South Loop Dr. This park has a very, very small store in the office, and no nearby stores. They have gravel driveways and sites with gravel pads and sites with concrete pads. We had a level, concrete pull-through long enough for the toad and the motor home. We had full hook-ups on the side of the motor home. There was mowed grass around the edge of the pads. Our site had a beautiful view of the Mississippi River and the barges going up and down the river. They had picnic tables. They had screw in sewer connections. Water pressure was good. Electrical was 30 and 50 amps. There was no cable TV, but with an antenna you we got 32 clear HD channels. Verizon Wireless was 3 out of 5 bars; ATT wireless was 3 out of 5 bars. There was WiFi with the password required. Response was one screen about every 30 seconds at night; it got better in the morning. There were 2 trash pick ups at the site, 9am and 6pm. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

We enjoy this CG on the Mississippi. The front row pull through sites were full so we were in a second row gravel site. The roads are also gravel. Verizon cell phone and hotspot worked well, no trees. The CG WiFi was intermittent working 80% of the time. Utilities all worked well. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Been here many times over the years. The views along the river are neat with barges traveling up and down day and night. The facilities are acceptable with full hookups, but no cable. Problem is they are getting pretty pricey. Went up $10 a night from our stay in 2016, and that is with a GS discount. Our stays here will be shorter. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in a gravel pull through site in the 3rd row back from the river. It looks like campers who stay more than a week are put in the last row so views of the river and barges are blocked most of the time. Shorter stay campers were assigned site by the river. Nice grassy areas to walk dogs. Very pet friendly. Wouldn't stay here again unless we could get riverfront site. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Decent enough park, located along Mississippi River in west Memphis. Huge pull through and back in sites. Mix sites some Gravel and some concrete. Was flat & level ground, water pressure mostly ok. Not a lot in immediate area, requires driving into Memphis itself or west Memphis for groceries. Easy access to the motorways. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

This park seems overated. Yes, it's on the river, which is nice. But other than that, it's average at best. Gravel interior roads with a mix of gravel and concrete sites (I paid extra for concrete). It seemed like there were two "sections". One loop close to the river, and another loop a little further back (with unobstructed views across a field). Biggest problem I had was that there only TWO combination bath/showers (unisex) for the entire loop. That's inadequate. The location is off the beaten path in West Memphis. Between I-40 and the park, there are some questionable areas (Two WMPD officers hanging out near the entrance). The park is far enough down the road that it's sort of isolated and probably fairly safe, despite the police presence. Unless your thing is being adjacent to the river, it's easy to find a nicer park for less money. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rather strange route to get here. You pass through a rundown part of town, cross over railroad tracks, and dive down a hill. It's not apparent that you are heading in the right direction but eventually you see the entrance to the park. We waited a few minutes for someone to come over to the office as they were running around the campground. They have flooding problems, and there are markings on some buildings noting flood levels. And, the website will indicate whether they are closed or not due to flooding. There is even a link to check the river stage. There are tons of warnings regarding bugs and other nefarious creatures. Guess we lucked out due to the time of year we were there as we had no problems. Roads are gravel and dusty. There are quite a few seasonal sites but they are fairly neat and tidy. It's a pretty large park with a mixed bag of sites. Some sites are really nice and level while others are cracked and not so level. There are trees in some loops but not in others. We could not get the WII FI to work. Satellite with Directv worked fine as did Verizon. It was fairly quiet in spite of the Fed Ex airport right across the river with near constant activity. Many sites are right on the river and others have a fairly clear view. It's fun to watch the tug boats and small freighters. It's a bit of a hike for one night but it might be interesting to hang around for a few days. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

I look forward to coming back here and staying a few days sometime when the weather is good. It was too cold to stay this time, down in the low 20s. The campground is right on the river, very spacious, lots of room to walk. Its off the beaten track so be sure to study those directions on their website and then its easy to find. This looks like a work in progress so quite bare bones now but there is an area of concrete pad sites. When they finish this project, it will be incredible, in my opinion. We really liked staying here. Unique park right on the banks of the Mississippi. Most sites with views and plenty of benches for sitting on the bank. Bathhouse a little walk away (we were in the south loop) -we did not use it. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.
