We love this RV park! Right on the Mississippi river, seeing the barges come and go, nice level sites, free laundry - what more can you ask for? This is our second stay, two years apart and I am so happy it was as serene as I remembered. We had to change our plans so got a second row site instead of a front row site facing the Mississippi River, however we could still see the river even with RVs in front of us. The people who run the place are very nice and really do a good job of keeping it clean. We were there over July 4th and were a bit concerned over the fireworks guests were setting off in the park however for the most part the quiet time was observed. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

This is a clean, well maintained park. The staff is friendly. The sites are level and the park is designed for maximum visibility to the Mississippi River. They escort you to your site. They pick up trash several times a day. And they have been consistent over the many years we have been staying here. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Diesel fuel at the exit for this park runs about $.30/gal higher at the truck stops than any other source along the I-55 or I-40 service road. Try to fuel up at one of those if possible.

Stayed in a 40' class A motorhome on a river view site. It is pull thru with a concrete pad and long enough to straighten out to unhook the tow vehicle. There is barge traffic on the river night and day to keep one occupied. This is our favorite campground so a little biased. They pick up trash all day long placed in front of your rig. There are benches to sit on. It is a well maintained place and the staff is always helpful and friendly. It is pet friendly. We will be back.

Call in advance for a river view if that is what you want. Lots of sites available that are not on the front row though. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

There are a lot of good comments about this park, so I will just try to add a few new things here. The walking trail is 3.03 miles and very easy to follow - well moved and rather obvious. It's wide enough for 3 people to walk abreast. The sites closest to the river have concrete pads; the other sites have gravel. There is lots to do here, and if we care to brave the bad roads and crazy traffic, Memphis is only 20 minutes away. Overall, if the park were closer to my home, I would come much more often. The biggest tip I can give is, be sure you follow the directions they give you to get into and out of the park. That is a much better route than what the typical GPS will give. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

There are two parts to this campground. One side is open without trees and the other side is mostly shaded by trees. The front row of both sides are right on the bank of the Mississippi River. It was fun to sit at your site and watch all the barges going up and down the river. Conviently located about 10 minutes from downtown Memphis. Trash picked up at site. Bathrooms adequate. Personnel very nice. Good 4G phone service. Park Wi-Fi was inconsistent depending on how many were using it. We used ATT Hotspot to supplement. Free washers and dryers. We would return for the river view alone. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is such an interesting RV park based on the fact that timing is everything. When the Mississippi River floods, this lovely park disappears under water. It's hard to imagine, so we went to the park website to see the flood photos. They are amazing. The two sections of this park, River Front and Woods, are both nice. If you prefer shade, the Woods section is best, but if you want an amazing view of the Mississippi, the River Front is wonderful. We were in the end site #66, which is a paved, angled, pull thru with plenty of length for our 40 ft motorhome and toad. Since we were only planning to stay for 3 nights, we didn't have any need to disconnect to toad. Price is based on Good Sam discount. While there is no cable, our TV antenna gave us an adequate number of stations and our Sprint Broadband internet worked well. The grassy area along the river have many benches so you can sit and enjoy the tug boats and barges. We had a treat when the huge American Queen paddle boat passed by and got some great photos. With free laundry facilities, clean restrooms, daily trash pick up and a friendly staff, this is an excellent park to chill out for a few days. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Great location for visiting Memphis and Graceland, or just sit and enjoy the quiet, peaceful passing of the tug boats pushing the huge barges up and down the Mississippi.

If you want a fabulous view of the mighty Mississippi, park here. We are in #72 facing the river with the passenger side to the water. Wonderful but hot for June. Concrete pad, picnic table, shade trees, about 5-6 antenna channels, no cable. BUT YOU MUST follow their directions, as GPS wanted to take us through a residential neighborhood. Road over the levee and to the RV camp needs repair, low branches trimmed. We are in West Memphis on the Arkansas side of the river. No pool, no rec room, but a quiet space in the country with a view of traffic on the Mississippi.

The view, the view, the view...

Small one room office. Many of our friends have stayed here and recommended it. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

This is the second time we have camped here and once again it was wonderful. The sites are the best - level and concrete.

Two highlights here - first laundry is free and the machines are in excellent condition - LG mainly. The second is the ability to see the "Mighty Mississippi" in action. Lots of barge/tug traffic. One of the best parks we have stayed in. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Escorted to site 66 facing the Mississippi River. Great view of the river. There was a fantastic breeze and a large shade tree that made this a terrific stop. Wish we had stayed more than one night. The site was level and clean. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was our 4th time to stay here and we enjoy it every time we do stay here. We always get one of the sites close to the river as we like to watch the tows go by. All utilities are good. Close to any shopping you might need. Site was level concrete. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very interesting park. It is on the banks of the Mississippi River and very nice to watch the boat traffic. Boats and barges pass all times during the day. Enjoy watching the tug boats and barges from you campsite, even the ones on the 3rd row can see between others - or enjoy a bench on the water. Very clean, trash picked up at your site during the day, no additional charge for laundry (although only 2 sets). Site 52 has one of the very few fire rings. One of the worse parks for WiFi and for the "quality" of this park, it needs to be improved. As others wrote - very convenient to Memphis attractions OR to visit Johnny Cash's boyhood home in Dyess, AR (about 40 mi N). We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Great view of the mighty Mississippi. Very quiet, relaxing and great location for visiting Memphis without staying in all the traffic. Staff very accommodating. Wireless is very bad. Love this campground but a little pricey, I guess we are paying for view which makes it well worth it! We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Road is rough getting over to the campground but once we were there, we were impressed. Can not beat the view of the Mississippi River! If you want open area access for the satellite

TV, you might want to park in the 5th wheel section. Staff was helpful and allowed us to move over there from the tree lined motor home sites. Level, concrete with pad and table. Free laundry! New washers and dryers and it was a pleasant surprise. We loved the place and would come back again. We camped in a motor home. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.
