We give this high marks as a very scenic spot on the banks of the Mississippi, with nice level spots, not too close together, full hookups and wonderful little bathroom-showers (very clean) that were toasty warm on a cool morning. The roads are unfortunately dirt with some gravel, so we had to deal with quite a bit of mud, but many of the sites are paved pads (snow thaw and spring rains this month). I especially appreciate the complimentary laundry...nice! The office stays open til 6 pm and the staff was super nice. It would be nicer if they had a few more offerings for sale in the office as it's a remote location and the nearest grocery is some distance away. They have several benches set up near the river bank for convenient viewing....with firepits nearby. This is a great place to camp short time or longer periods. We'll be back. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.
This site is super-close to downtown Memphis which has much to see and do. It's also easy access to Interstate 55 and/or 40.

Only one out of four bathrooms was in service, but otherwise it was a nice stay. They kept the office open late for us so we could check in - great service! The pad was concrete and level, although it was covered in snow/slush. It would have been nice if they had cleared that. Still, the site was nice. I would definitely stay there again (hopefully when the weather is a little nicer). We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Great view of the Mississippi River. The staff were quite helpful and very friendly. The road into the campground is a bit rough. Good hook-ups and nice level site. We will stay here again if we are in the area. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Memphis is very close.

We spent a week here. This is a "must visit" park to watch the barges. The park is well maintained and has the only free laundry we've ever encountered. There's about a hundred yards of very bumpy road getting to the entrance. Park Wi-Fi worked well for me (external antenna) and both Verizon & AT&T had strong signals. Since we were not on the river this was a pretty basic campground with gravel pull-throughs. Our site was level and the hook-ups worked fine. We had a picnic table at our site. The roads are gravel and stone which kick up dust when ever anyone drives by. They pick up the garbage at your site daily. There is a walking trail in the woods behind the park which is a nice distance and trail. Sometimes the barges could be loud but they did not bother us. We loved this park and even extended our stay here! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Nice wide roads with easy access to sites. The roads are gravel and they wet them down several times a day to keep the dust down. Very long, spacious sites. Wi-Fi worked fine and satellite reception was not a problem. They pick up trash several times a day. There were not fire pits, but they let us create one on the gravel in front of our motorhome. The best part to us was the unique setting right on the Mississippi River with a perfect view of the barge traffic coming and going. The laundry was free, which was a nice amenity. There is a nearby train that honks the horn at all hours of the day or night, but this seems to be pretty standard near RV parks. There are nice trails throughout the park as well. We highly recommend this park and would definitely stay again. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Stayed here for one night while passing through the area. Had a spacious, level, back in gravel site. A beautiful campground on the Mississippi River. Good AT&T cell phone service in the area, however the wifi was unusable due to such a weak signal. Make sure you take your mosquito repellent, they are crazy hungry after dark! Paid the extra $ for a riverfront site and wasn't disappointed. Full hook-ups with 50 amp. Big rig friendly. As previous reviewers stated, there is an extremely short stretch of road coming in that is getting a bit crumbly, but presents absolutely no obstacle. There is some train noise (far away) and the noise of the barges going by at night, but I don't mind those types of sounds and my husband, who usually complains about the slightest noise, slept undisturbed. Convenient to all that Memphis has to offer. Just a few miles off both I-40 and I-55. We will definitely stay again when in the area. Wonderful place! River-front spaces are concrete pads with unobstructed view of the river. Next rows back are gravel. It's so peaceful we could have spent a month there doing nothing but watching the river. Well laid out and maintained with easy big-rig access. Very easy to get to and from I-40 and I-55. Did not use the laundry. Will definitely stay again when in the area. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Walmart, Kroger and fast food restaurants are about 5 miles away near the interstates.

Nicely run park on the Mississippi River. The best spots are the ones closest to the water where you can see the barges up close. Occasional train whistles in the distance. There aren't a lot of stores nearby but a Walmart about 4 or 5 miles away. When we were there, the Wi-Fi had broken down and didn't work for several days. We did appreciate the free laundry they offer in the park and trash pickup in front of your rig. Once in a while, on Saturday nights, we have experienced auto racing at some park to the north, which was extremely loud but didn't hear it on this visit. Lots of heavy duty road construction on the freeways into Memphis and the roads are narrowed and extremely bumpy. The park has very level sites. Very nice park and fairly easy on off from I-40 in spite of all the road construction going on. We felt fortunate to get a shady spot without a reservation. Office staff is very efficient and friendly. Interior roads are gravel as are most sites but many have concrete pads which are level. The sites are huge compared with most commercial RV parks. Wi-Fi is OK most of the time, although we did get bumped off several times. No cable but over the air reception from Memphis is adequate. We would definitely stay here again. Right on the Mississippi. Most of the facilities are mobile (laundry, restrooms, etc) so can be pulled out if the river is up. Very good Verizon 4G. Really the best thing about this park is it's right on the Mississippi - literally. Kind of far to town stuff (restaurants) but Memphis, TN is maybe 25 minutes or so. Was construction while I was there so maybe quicker now. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Rate is with Good Sam 10% discount. The access road is a bit rough and dusty. The waterfront pull-throughs are just right for big rigs. A nice park on the Mississippi River. There were park benches on the shoreline with grassy areas and big trees. Very nice to sit was watch the barges pass by. The mosquitoes were bad at sunset, but that is to be expected. Even though the area must flood yearly the staff cleans up the debris and makes everything new again each year. We were very pleased during our overnight stay. This was our 3rd time to stay here and despite all the flooding that happens almost every year they recover and fix the park up again. We had a concrete site this time and it was level and long. Water pressure and voltage was very good. They have new large washers and dryers that are free to use so for fulltimers like us that is very nice. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of shopping within 5 miles and also plenty of eating places and fuel stations. We like to watch the tow traffic up and down the river and that part of it never gets old. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Rate is with Good Sam 10% discount. Access road is a bit rough and quite dusty. Our 33' motor home and tow vehicle fit the pull though site with no problem. A nice park on the Mississippi River with a view of the barges floating along. One negative was the tree at our site dripped sap all over our car that was already covered with dust.
