Excellent find on our way thru the area. Two nights stop to visit Memphis. Perfect location across the river from Memphis. Quiet area on the river. River view from all sites. Trees in an area and open in another area, take your pick. Gravel sites and a few concrete. We had gravel and it was great. Second row still could see river well. Not very full, but could get full on the weekends. Friendly staff. Lots of room to stroll, watch bardges or walk the dog. Big grass field and fishing pond. Great local over the air coverage and Verizon cell was good. Wifi was ok but like everywhere. Local BBQ spot, Williams BBQ was the greatest find. Great value and good pork sandwich. We bought two lbs to go on the second day to take on our journey. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.

Williams BBQ a must!! Beale street just over the bridge, go early parking easy on the street. Bass pro shop pyramid an unusual site. Stop in to marvel at the fish, ducks and huge stuff inside. Even if not a bass pro shop fan, worth a go. Other rv parks in bad part of town, this one fab. Follow directions from their website not gps. Gps carries u thru town and neighborhoods. Website better straight shot.

The view of the Mississippi River is incredible! Our site was large, level cement pull-thru but others were gravel. Full hook-ups, 50 amp. Quiet. Very good wifi most of the time. Internal roads good for big rigs. Near Memphis, TN. Need bug spray as there are lots of bugs that like to bite, especially near water. Neighborhood in West Memphis is not so good, so be careful where you drive. Felt safe in RV park. Our GPS sent us down 7th & 8th St from 40/55. Don't go that way. Rig-unfriendly railroad crossing and sketchy neighborhood. Get off on Martin Luther King Dr (off 40 or 55) and go down the South Loop Rd (Pancho's Restaurant on corner). Would stay here again. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

City Tour that included Graceland and lunch (Rum Boogie Cafe) was very good. Lorraine Motel and Civil Rights Museum are excellent. Rendezvous has incredible dry-rub ribs. Beal Street interesting during day (don't go at night). Peabody Hotel & Ducks.

We stayed for two weeks and found this to be one of the nicer private campgrounds we've stayed at. Sites were a decent size, there were several giant open fields and even some "trails" mowed through grassy or wooded areas, great for longer dog walks. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, from the office to the lawnmowers. We were able to receive both UPS/Fedex packages and US mail at the campground, which was very convenient. There was a fair bit of ambient noise throughout our stay, from frequent train horns, to river barge engines, to some loud background hum from a nearby factory. None were loud enough to bother us while inside. Speaking of inside, that's where we were during most of our stay, since it was August with hot and humid weather and tons of flying insects. The campground WiFi was unusably slow most of the time. Our Verizon and AT&T hotspots each had two signal bars and had OK speeds, but were not fast. Our booster didn't help. We'd be happy to stay here again, but hopefully not in hot and humid August next time! We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

We love this park. Stayed here many times. Convenient to visit Memphis. They work hard to keep this place neat and clean. Ponds for fishing. The best part is backing right up to the mighty Mississippi River. We love to watch the barges go by. They have benches where you can sit and watch the river. They pick up the garbage at your site. As I said at the beginning of this review, we love this park. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a lovely campground right on the Mississippi river. The sites on the river are set so you don't really see other sites even though they're nearby. It is very well maintained even with the acres of grass. The drainage is good, in case it rains. Potholes seem to be filled as soon as they appear. The staff is efficient and very pleasant. The dog walking area is vast. The only downside was that our site, which was at the far end, had no wifi. Our Verizon cell did work though. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

This rates up there for one of our best campsite ever. Nice pull-through, level site with a cement pad. Nice shady site overlooking the Mississippi. We watched the boat traffic from under our awning. Quiet place, friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Bag of ice $1.00. Quiet. Convenient to Memphis. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here multiple times, and always enjoy our visit. The location is sandwiched between the Mississippi river and train tracks. It is somewhat isolated and definitely pretty, and highway access is good. Due to the location, you will hear the constant drone of barge engines and occasionally train horns. It has never been bad enough for me to consider not staying here. The sites are split up in several locations, with a combination of level gravel and concrete pads. They are mostly (all?) pull-through and HUGE. A big rig with toad can easily park in most spots. Some spots have nice shade trees, others are in open sun. There is nothing to do for the kids except look at the river. The park staff are friendly and very helpful. They will also guide you to your site. They used to segregate trailers from motorhomes on different sites, but that was no longer the case on our most recent trip. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Price reflects Good Sam discount and riverfront location. Tom Sawyer RV Park is unique, as it is inside the Levee and right on the "below flood stage" bank of the mighty Mississippi River. There is constant barge traffic, which is interesting to watch. Full 50-amp, water, sewer hookups. Price is steep, but these folks deal with a huge amount of work, as their entire campground floods fairly often requiring extensive work, so consider the high cost as a necessity to offer this location. No large trees, so satellite is easy. Most pads are concrete and drives are gravel. Can be muddy if lots of rain. Cell service excellent. 5 miles to Beale Street Memphis entertainment district. This is a really cool place to stay. The owner has laid out one of the loops for 5th wheels so that the rear window faces the river, and the other loop for motorhomes so the front windshield faces the river. Really nice staff. All good here, great place to stay near Memphis. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mud River has a half mile long scaled (30" = 1 mile) model of the Mississippi River that is free to see (parking $6.00). Beale Street nightlife and blues district 5 miles. La Margarita Mexican restaurant in West Memphis has an extensive menu and great food.

I only gave a 3 on cleanliness because they were still recovering from a flood. I'm sure after it all drys up it's much nicer. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. Trash pick up is three times a day. Lots of walking, when dry, for you and your pet. A nice distance between campers, not crowded at all. I will go back at another time. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We used Tom Sawyer's as a overnight stay to and from a trip to the Smoky Mountains from Oklahoma. On our way east, we arrived well after dark. Once we got to the exit off I-40 it was very easy to find with signs and by following the directions from the website. After hours check-in was easy and the map to our site was well marked and we had no trouble at all. We left early in the morning, but from what we could tell, we wanted to stop on the way home to check it out. On our return trip, it was only about 2.5 weeks after they had been underwater. There were still some campsites not ready, but the best ones (next to the Mississippi) were fantastic. Had some nice shade and the view was awesome. They have 2 main camping areas - the motorhomes face the river so the view is out the windshield and the 5 wheels have their rear toward the river for the view out what most have as their living room. The road in looks a little sketchy and the camp is not a "resort". However, the views, shade, barges, were great. It was very peaceful and quiet. In the motorhome areas the sites are a mix of concrete pads and gravel pads. The concrete pads were very level. Could not tell if cable was at the park and not yet re-installed or not. Over the air TV was available with a variety of channels. WiFi was available, but too spotty to be useful at our site. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

We were pleasantly surprised by the views of this RV Park. We loved being right next to the Mississippi River and the views of the tow boats and barges passing by. The campground was very maintained and we enjoyed the on site garbage pickup. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

This was just an overnight stay for us. We got the last pull-through site that was available. The restrooms are rustic-looking but clean. The park is right on the Mississippi River and across the river from Memphis. I suggest making a reservation at the very least early in the day. We would certainly stay here again. We stayed for 2 nights with a reservation. If you have a reservation, the check in process is fast. Little slow without one. Park has just recently reopened after flooding. This occurs occasionally, so check website. We parked on the row closest to the river and really enjoyed the view. Park was quite at night. We used Uber to go back and forth to Memphis twice without an issue. Big rig friendly. We were on a concrete site with full hookup and was level. Only negative was picnic table was very old and PATIO area was sand/grass and not level at all. We used Uber to get to Graceland as well as downtown. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.
