2 Parks near Ashcroft, British Columbia
Jul 2015 - $1.00
This is a free recreation site right on Barnes Lake. Leave Ashcroft on Hwy 97c to Kamloops and follow for 6 km. Turn left onto Barnes Lake Road (paved) and follow for another 5 km. The sites will be on your right. They are spread out over several hundred meters and come with a picnic table and a fire ring each. More place to park in the area. All sites have full sun exposure. There is no water source but a pit toilet. It's best to come here with a smaller rig, but there are at least two sites that can accommodate a large trailer or motorhome. Due to the lake and the swampy surrounding it was a little buggy (early July).
Very quiet at night but some logging trucks on the road in the morning. Still a good place away from highway traffic and train noise. We will be back. - TheSchweitzers
May 2010 - $20.00
Registration is done by a campground host on behalf of the village of Ashcroft. Most sites not level as most RVs in the park had boards under their wheels. Electricity is 15 amp. so could be a problem on a hot day. No sewer, but a sanitary dump just past the campsites at the exit. The park is located along the Thompson river which is a plus, but with two railways on either side of the river there is some noise at times. Pub and restaurant adjacent to the park and village stores within walking distance. - Onemoretrail
