Great 9 hole golf course. Sites are fine, not spacious but adequate for our 3 slides. Nice grass areas. We camped at Chinook Cove Golf & RV in a Motorhome.

A small gem of a park above Hwy 5 and the trains so it's fairly quiet. Our rate was for electric only, in Can $. Very tidy campground that serves the golfers but others are welcome. Nice walking trails around the park. We would stay here again. We camped at Chinook Cove Golf & RV in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The price is in Canadian $ before tax. No discount unless staying seven nights, then one night is free. The RV Park - not really a resort - is located on an elevated, level platform of ground above the golf club. Check-in is at the golf club and was fast. We had a gravel pull-thru site but fairly narrow and about 60' long. Very tight for our 40' 5er with opposing slides and 23' tow vehicle. I had to park away from my rig because of the placement of the trailer on the site - optimized for the utility post and being able to slot it in between the slid-outs. Our site had 20, 30 & 50 amp power (not all have 50amp), water & sewer. Water was a good pressure and the sewer was a ground level towards the rear of the site. Voltage read a steady 120. Wi-Fi is included in the cost of staying and we had a good, strong connection. Between the sites is a neatly mowed strip of grass about 12' wide and a gravel patio area with a heavy picnic table. The bathrooms were clean and tidy. For the men, one very large stall - very easy to get a wheelchair in and a grab bar for assistance. One very large shower stall and two hand sinks. There is a laundry - one washer and one dryer. $2 each (loonies). Also an outside kitchen prep area at the end of the washhouse building. Communal fire pit - no fire pits at sites. The railroad track is about 1km away but the rumble of the trains is very noticeable during the quiet of the night. There is no children's play area or dog walking section. I could not get any OTA TV signals but this is Canada and in the Rookies. Sites 8 - 11 look fairly short and may only fit an RV of about 20 - 25' with tow vehicle. All sites are south facing so pretty much full sun exposure all day with only small trees for shade. What is shown as overflow parking on their site map is now half a dozen electric and water only sites and a dump station.

The RV host was very pleasant and always busy trimming the grass or pruning the trees. We camped at Chinook Cove Golf & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Costco and Walmart about 70kms (45 minutes) south in Kamloops but there is a small grocery store in Barriere that is well stocked and not too expensive - by Canadian standards.

Overall Rating:

RV park is mainly for golfers, but as I'm not one, I did some exploring with my ADV bike in the area. I would have given a 10 overall, but there is a bit of dust raised by golfers in carts coming and going golfing and I am used to more elbow room. The sites are normal size, but it's a pretty new RV park and the trees are young and will be nicer in a few years. We camped at Chinook Cove Golf & RV in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Golf, explore back country, fish, canoe down the river. Lots to do in the area.

If you are interested in seeing some nice farming and want a little tour, Drive South across the river to Barrier and then North to Little Fort via the Chu Chua Indian reserve and Dunn Lake. You can then return to Chinook Cove after crossing the reaction ferry at Little Fort.

This is a very nice little RV park. We were assigned a 50 amp pull through spot but were not asked what we wanted. We learned later that the back in 30 amp spots were $10 less and all we needed, our mistake for not asking. Upon arriving you need to park and walk to the club house to register, a bit strange but not bad. The RV spots are up the hill from this parking lot, a bit of a climb but again not bad. The campground was very neat and tidy and had a great view. The pull through spot was a bit narrow and I think the back ins are a bit wider. We camped at Chinook Cove Golf & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

We just completed a trip from Washington state to Alaska and back and this was the best RV park we stayed at the entire trip. In fact we stayed both going up and coming back we liked it so well. Sites are all very spacious and level with well maintained lawn between all sites. There is a big rugged picnic table for each site. Park is above the golf course with nice views overlooking the North Thompson river valley. It is about a quarter mile off and above the highway so noise is not a problem. There are train tracks across the river, probably a mile away, and very few trains so also not a problem. Showers are free and very large and well maintained. Internet was the best we had the entire trip. If you can book ahead, site #8 is the primo site. We will be staying here again! We camped at Chinook Cove Golf & RV in a Travel Trailer.

If you play golf, the course is one of the best 9 hole courses we have played.

Nice, clean, well organized park. Mainly used by golfers but suitable for overnight use or for those visiting the area. Rate is for a full hookup 30A site. Sites are a bit narrow if you have a multi-slide unit. Great 9 hole golf course as well. We will return!! We camped at Chinook Cove Golf & RV in a Travel Trailer.
