This is a clean park, with clean bathrooms and really nice private shower rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful, they have a big store, and they have propane deliveries on Wednesdays. They have an indoor pool. However, the sites are very tight and hard to get into. We witnessed several campers taking out bushes trying to maneuver into the sites. We just barely got our 31' RV in and the slide-out on one side was right up against the hedge. Also, there is hardly any grass at all, which makes walking a dog very difficult. Our tow vehicle had to be parked in a lot at the front of the park. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a large and high volume RV park given that it is very accessible to Vancouver. It's a bit of a factory but they have nice facilities: indoor pool, spa, fitness facility, picnic area, etc. They have asphalt driveways and site pads that are in good condition. However, most of the sites are VERY tight, both length and width. We had a back-in site with 30amp electric, water and sewer. The back of our RV was pressed up against a large shrub and I had to crawl around on the asphalt in order to access some of our basement storage. There is a picnic table but there was no room for us to use it. Tow car parking is in a separate parking area. On the plus side, they have large privacy shrubs between the sites so you don't have to stare into each other's windows. WiFi is included through TengoInternet. You have 4 hours free per day in blocks distributed through a 24 hour period. Weird but it was reliable and responsive. There is a large city park next door with plenty of walking paths. Premium price due to the location. We paid $53 USD per night. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate is US Dollars and based on weekly rate. My review is relevant only to big rigs. We are in a 45' MH. This is not what I would call big rig friendly. Even though RV Park Reviews checks Big Rigs, and it is published in Big Rig Best Bets, etc - this park is far from ideal for 45' motorhomes (and I would say anything over 40'). I had to cut bushes and back the tag axle off the paved site (the maximum I could go back) and the front of the motorhome was even with the narrow street in front of the site. Had to ensure we positioned the coach just right so slide-outs could extend and bay doors could open. BTW - this was a 'premium site'. Interior roads are 2 way narrow asphalt with trees trimmed to about 12' and overhang the road. Not great from nicely painted rigs. Real tight turns if sites at the corners are occupied. IF you still book a stay here, definitely unhook your toad prior to arriving at your site. Parking for toad (we have a Grand Cherokee) is also tight. Rear is 1' from concrete picnic table and front of coach is 1' from street. Again, we are in a 'premium site'. We booked 6 months in advance and asked for the largest available site. from what I can tell, we got it. Also, be careful with GPS (Rand McNally), as it did not have us turn on Caribou Road off Gaglardi Road, (thinking we arrived while still on Gaglardi Road). If you miss it (no signage) you will have quite a bit of turning thru city streets. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This was by far the best RV Park we encountered on our journey. It was head and shoulders above everywhere else with excellent facilities, a pool sauna and bubble pool. The lots were fairly tightly packed but in a sympathetic way so it all worked well. The front desk staff were so helpful and the front office was stacked with everything you could imagine from fresh to frozen foods and accessories for the RV. Top class. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Yes, it is an older park, engulfed by the city. The location near Vancouver does make it higher in cost than some rural sites but it is within short distance of shopping (Costco, Walmart, Safeway, and a good-sized mall), and very close to Bus and Skytrain stations which provide easy access to the city center. Any place you park downtown will cost you so we found it easier to just jump on the train. Big laundry room which was nice. Park store is well stocked and the staff provided excellent tips for using the transit system and all the local sights. Easy access from the RV park to an extensive trail system along rivers and lakes. Best park we could find in the area. We would stay here again. Don't try to take bell peppers back into the US... Tips for other Campers:

The Maritime Musum, Vancouver Museum, and Museum of Anthropology are excellent and were an escape from the rainy weather. Don't miss Stanley Park, the Capilano Salmon Hatchery, or the Cleveland Dam. You can run, walk, or bicycle for miles along the water front. Mahony and Sons for food and brews. We ran out of time but there is much more to do.

Cariboo RV Park is old, and shows it. However distant it might once have been from urban Vancouver, the mega-city has ignored and engulfed it. However secluded the shrubbery around sites made them feel, the resulting narrow lane and the narrow opening to my site, are unsuited to modern big rigs, and made backing my long full-timer's trailer a challenge. Many of the sites, of course, were filled with smaller rigs, but my frustration was matched by my neighbor. Moreover, there is no room for any vehicles but the RV at the site. I had to park my truck a quarter mile away. Once in the site, I had no problems. The services and utilities were quite up to par. It was a good thing that I was tired that week, however. The park is right next to a major train track, with noisy locomotives passing through at all hours. The amenities and activities seemed minimal. There is a very large municipal park right next door, providing a reasonable outlet for childhood energy. Nonetheless, although I picked this campground because of its proximity to Vancouver. I would not do so again. It is not so close to make a trip into the city convenient, and as a place to camp, it leaves much to be desired. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We used this park to leave our RV and tow car while we took a cruise ship to Alaska for a week. My end price was $377.15 US for three nights camping and 7 nights storage with electric. Sites are separated by a row of shrubs and each has a table. We have a smaller motorhome however in walking around the park there were many larger RVs. Showers were nice and clean. Laundry was good (uses Canadian 1$ coins which can be gotten at desk). Wi fi was good. There are many shops within 5-7 minute drive as well as a bus that can take you to Vancouver's train system. We took a city tour which picked us up and dropped us off at the park. We felt comfortable leaving RV and tow car (which had a plastic taped window) and would use park again if going to Vancouver. Travelled with pup and travel trailer. Spots are tight and you are crammed in. For the amount of money I was expecting nicer facilities. Everything was old, very old. But clean, so that's a huge plus. It was a convienent spot, close to nice trails. But for the amount of money I would probably stay elsewhere. I called in and they were rude on the phone. But much nicer when we actually went in We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Easy access from the Freeway (Highway 1). Signage to park is very good. Check in was straight forward. Interior roads are paved and fairly wide. No vehicle parking on roads so navigating is very easy. This is an urban park so expect traffic noise. There is train tracks near the park and they rumble by a couple of times a day. The noise is tolerable. There are no shops or restaurants within walking distance. Lougheed Mall is a five minute drive. Our site (44) was right beside the access path to a regional park with good trails. Great for walking the dog, bikes and access to a river for fishing. No motorized vehicles allowed. This is a full facility park. There is an indoor pool, hot tub, exercise room, laundry facilities, store, RV wash station etc. A clean well run operation. There are a few full time units all are in good condition and no junk or clutter visible. Site are pretty tight but are separated by cedar hedges so it's not that bad. Cable is an extra $3.00 per day and not worth it. Less than a dozen chanels but at least NO BOX. Internet is Tengo pay as you go. We never tried to log on as we have our own hot spot. We paid $66.00 Cdn per night plus tax plus cable and because of the parks proximity to Vancouver and area, we feel we received fair value and will return. The sites are far too small. Our unit barely fit into the space they provided and apparently it's one of the better ones to get into. The slides were up against the hedge on one side and when you walked out the trailer door you were practically standing on the concrete table (which couldn't be moved). The concrete trailer slab was great until we realized how slanted it was!!! To level it, the wheels on one side were off the ground.

Staff was not very friendly and we were directed the wrong way around to most easily back into our site.

The space for parking the tow vehicle was on the opposite side of the concrete picnic table leaving very little room to sit outside. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Price paid was in CAD and included an up-charge for rig over 32'.

Sites are tight, tight, tight and access roads are narrow, I had a privacy hedge on 1 side and an access walkway on the other. Services (power, water, sewer) are at back end of sites; I needed 2 water hoses and 2 sewer lengths to reach them.

Parking for tow vehicles was 100 yds away, inconvenient.

Campground is near both a railroad track as well as Sky-train so you'll hear them all the time.

Large city park within 400 meters - good pet walk area as well.

Lots of amenities (pool, hot-tub, exercise room, lounge, etc) but park is family friendly so you'll have to deal with lots of youngsters in pool and spa.

Vancouver Island tours pickup at front (6:30AM), which was convenient. They offer pet walking for $10 CAD while on tour.

Location is convenient to malls and Sky-train station. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

You'll get great practice backing into tight sites. Had to unhook and park in lot 100 yds away - satisfactory but not convenient. Large hedges partially separate sites, but at rear, you are right in other campers 'personal space'. Overall, cg is very pleasant and clean.

Cable tv not avail at this site. Claimed we didnt order it but offered another site (for extra ctv fee) after we had already set up. No thanks!

Trains passed night and day. Our site was further away but others are near tracks. Run your AC, fan or white noise to sleep better.

Busy cg, lots of families. Store/office offers basic food, treats and supplies.

Internet access via TengoInternet is free with options that limit you to certain periods per 24 hrs, otherwise pay for expanded availability. Signal was weak and very sporadic at our site.

Never-the-less, compared to some of the other campgrounds I've visited in the Vancouver metro area, this is one of the nicest. We would stay again. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very clean park. Great city access, 20 minute drive to Vancouver. Staff is very friendly and knowledgable about locations, routes, etc. and helped arrange tours. They are one of the few RV parks where a day tour to Victoria/Butchart Gardens picks up at the park office, most only pick up at downtown Vancouver hotels. Spaces -- all are back-in -- are landscaped with high hedges between each site for privacy. Sites are concrete and relatively flat. Ours had a concrete pad wide enough to house 40-ft motorhome with 2 slides and tow vehicle so nothing was hanging out in the streets. RVs may be rinsed off at site, and they have a pay-to-wash station on park premises.

Yes, typical RV park, poor Tengo WiFi, low water pressure, 30 amp, train track at back; however, we had a delightful stay here and would recommend and come back. We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Take a day trip to Victoria/Butchart Gardens-gorgeous! Spend a few hours in Granville Island for farmer's market and to buy handmade and see artisans at work. Drive in to Vancouver to eat at Scoozi's - fantastic breakfast with deep dish casseroles or my favorite, smoked salmon Eggs Benedict. Tons to see and do in and around Vancouver.

This park was built in the 80's when rvs were not so large, not having slides. As such, the sites are on the smaller side and are rather narrow. The redeeming fact is that there are large cedar hedges between the sites, thus giving privacy to your site. Despite the age of the rv park, the sites are well maintained and the entire park is very clean park. Everything is in good working order. All sites are paved and level.
For amenities, there is an indoor pool, whirlpool, games room, small exercise room, and an on-site store that is well stocked. There is a large laundry room. The park only has 30 amp service.
This rv park is the closet one to downtown Vancouver. Public transit is easy to access. There is a Costco within walking distance and lots of shopping nearby. The park borders the Burnaby Lake Regional Park system which offers great walking trails and biking pathways.
There is no dedicated dog area, but this is not need given the proximity to the trail system that borders the rv park.
Note: the rate paid was the "winter rate". We camped at Burnaby Cariboo RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.
