Overall Rating:

We liked this park. The waterview section had lots of shade trees--beautiful old firs--appreciated because it was hot. Neighbours were close, but it was ok. The site was fairly level, but required a bit of manoeuvering to get into. The swimming pool was very clean; decent size for a campground. The store had a reasonable selection of stuff for a campground store, but no basic food (milk, eggs, etc.) The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. No real swimming beach, lots of smooth stones. Nice sunsets. Nice location, about 10 min south of Campbell River. We'd come back. We camped at Salmon Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

*Popsey's in Campbell River is popular with locals for breakfast. Open till 5. *Lots of geocaching in the area. * We arranged a fishing charter through the resort (Crabbie's, 4 people, 5 hours, $500, caught a fish on a day when they weren't biting!) Recommended by a lot of people we met.

Overall Rating:

We've stayed here a couple times for a 4-5 day stay. This is a fairly well run park and priced right. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are showing their age somewhat but are quite well maintained. As with most parks with "Free" Wifi, the Wifi here is woefully inadequate when the park is full. Our only con with this park is with the Laundry Facility which was very poor. The machines, aside from being past their prime, were filthy. One load of laundry came out covered in white fuzz. A couple of the machines had grass in the bottom of the tub. They had not been wiped out for a long while. The dryer vent screens were all full of lint and ill fitting. This laundry facility needs to be more closely attended. With the exception of the laundry facility, it's a great park. We camped at Salmon Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Campbell River is the Salmon Fishing Capital of BC. Both fresh water fly fishing and ocean fishing. Fishermans Pair A Dice.

Park is at peak of season and jammed. Wifi is woefully inadequate due to overuse. Still a charming place with pool, boat basin and spectacular ocean views. Pk has been a stop for us for many yrs and we still luv it. Also great fishing deztination. In spite of heavy use pk is still orderly and quiet at nite. We camped at Salmon Point RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This one of our favorite parks. The setting, the restaurant, the service, and the location keep us coming back. One of the most enjoyable parts was the PUB lic hike. The trail starts at the Salmon Point pub and you have a beautiful easy walk along the sea side then, the Oyster River estuary, then through the woods to the Oyster river pub. Unfortunately the Oyster River pub closed this year after being open for about 80 years. But it is still a wonderful 3-4 km hike. We camped at Salmon Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here many times in various units and it is a good place. This time we stayed not in the main park, but in the oceanside area - seems that these spots are taken by units that will be for the full season- being away from the office means less control with parents of kids not controlling either actvities or noise. The oceanside washrooms are pay showers-the main park are free. The main park is heavily treed and the oceanside is not, thus for a satellite dish, the better is the oceanside. We camped at Salmon Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in a site by the ocean which was away from the main campground and where we were was very quiet. The restaurant is one minute walk away so very handy if you don't feel like cooking. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Salmon Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The location and amenities are superb. However, we will not return. We stayed in September 2015 and the internet was diabolical, we were told that they were in the process of installing a new system, so we put up with it. (we need the internet to keep tabs on our business). Then this week, June 2016, we are told that the internet is poor because they are installing a new system, what they really mean is that they don't want to pay for a decent system but want your money anyway and will keeping fobbing you off with the same lame excuse.

So I set up the cable TV, nothing! In 2015 it worked though. Nothing was said about this when we checked in. So now you have to leave a deposit on $100 to get a decoder box which you have to install in your RV somewhere, our neighbour tried it and said it was not just a simple plug in but required removing the TV off the wall and using red, yellow, white cables to make the connection. On mine these cables are connected to the surround sound so I am not messing with it.

So for a camp site with poor internet and no TV it is overpriced and not suitable for our needs.

The worst part is that the owners think they can get away with cutting costs, providing a diminished service, and expecting us to return.

No thank you. Management/Owners wake up Internet and TV have been BASIC services for the past 15 years or more! We camped at Salmon Point RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Booked in for 2 weeks mid to end of Feb, 2016. Rate was $180/wk Cdn. Office staff checking in were extremely friendly and helpful.

We chose site 34 because it had a concrete patio beside our rig. Grassy site with view of boat marina and mountains on the BC mainland across the Strait of Georgia.

This park is mid way between Campbell River on the north and Courtenay/Comox to the south so plenty to see and do in both towns. We camped at Salmon Point RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Fishermans Wharf in C.R. for crabs. Rocky Mountain Cafe in Comox for coffee also Comox Air Force Museum (RCAF)

Did not feel safe at this place, had strange people hanging around my RV day and night. We were promised a secure gate a month before we pulled in to the RV park, but that gate was a joke. People who were not paid guests used it as an off leash doggy park, also was the mess they left behind. One of us always stayed with the RV because of all the strange people hanging around that never should have been allowed in. If you have a little doggy you have to be careful here, I would always carry dog spray with me, thats how bad it got here. Some people were actually unhooking the leash of their Pit Bulls and Rottweilers 10 ft in front of my motorhome, crazy. This is supposed to be a RV resort not a dog park but management lets anyone come in so I didnt feel safe here. The site is gravel with a picnic table, if you put your awning down you would almost hit the next RV. People around us worked in town so you were woke up every morning with them at 6:00 am. Best look for another Rv park in this area. We camped at Salmon Point RV Park in a Motorhome.
