The sites in this park are quite close together with not a lot of privacy but the location is terrific. Across the street from Discovery Pass where we saw cruise ships, and lots of eagles plus very close to town and all amenities. This is probably one of the cleanest parks around and we even saw staff washing the dumpsters inside and out. Never seen that before. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The check-in area is not very well defined, so I ended up parking in front of a couple of empty sites. Staff were friendly and efficient. Our site #11 was in the middle of the north ocean front view section. It was fairly level, gravel and had a table and fire ring. There were two sewer outlets in the middle and up front. There was just enough room to extend our slideout and awning. We pulled into our site due to location of utilities. RVs alternately pulled in or backed in for many of the campground sites except for a few pull-throughs. From our site there were great views of Discovery Passage with marine traffic going by all the time. Our friendly neighbour even gave us a home made can of sockeye salmon after I had lamented that I couldn't find any made in Canada in the supermarkets anymore. Cable TV had around 30 channels and picture was clear. Wi-Fi from the park was pay. After I paid my fee, I discovered that a Shaw open portal was available and free. The washrooms and laundry room are accessed by a door code. This park is convenient to the downtown area and there is a walkway to a nearby public park at the end of Tyee Spit. I would probably stay here again, but the wife says try another place next time. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Motorhome.

The new cabins were very comfortable, and well furnished. A most delightful 2 day stay.

Only comment would be, we had to leave before the office opened at 9 and the was no place to leave the keys. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Cabin.

The RV site felt very crowded-there were a lot of RVs on a large gravel area. You had to pay extra for showers (we opted not to use them) and Wi-Fi (this worked well).

The park is separated from the ocean by a chain link fence and a road. To get the chance to look at the ocean properly we had to leave the park and take a short walk up the road.

Because of the way the RVs were crammed in, the park did not feel particularly relaxing, but was a useful stop off point. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in Class C motorhome with our two labs. Paved walking path across the street, beautiful walk along harbor/spit (busy with fishing boats, tug boats pulling loads of logs and wood chips, sea lions & sea otters swimming). Park very open, little privacy, but this was not an issue. Firewood available for fire pits $, Good Internet for a small fee, friendly staff, very close to major shopping (groceries, restaurants , drug store, clothing, souvenirs,etc.). Full hookup, including cable TV. You can see the ferry crossing to Quadra Island every half hour. We would definitely recommend this location/ park. Crushed rock sites with small grassy area. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Motorhome.

We are traveling through Canada and USA for two months. We have seen and will see many RV parks. This one is, so far, the best value for money we have encountered. The plots are quite large, but the highlight was that the restrooms and the laundry where the cleanest we have come across.

They charge extra for shower time and laundry, but you get a rather clean facilities and a big laundry room, heated, clean, with machines where to buy soap and softener if you have to.

The staff at the reception where very friendly and helpful and stay until 19:30 even though it was off season. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Motorhome.

There is a shopping mall less than 10 minutes walk and a beautiful natives handicraft store. The city lies about 20 minutes away on foot. Is not far.

We loved it here! Stayed a week and extended three more days. If you can, request the north side of the park. The street is in front of you but WHAT A VIEW! The street leads to a park at the end of the spit which is where we walked our dog every morning and evening. It has light traffic coming and going to the park during the day but virtually no cars at night so it's very quiet. You can look out your front window and see whales, cruise ships, bald eagles, sea planes, etc. all day long. Perfect location for exploring the area north, south or west. Sites were adequately sized. This is a nicely run park in a really good location. Walk/bike to shopping and restaurants just 10 minutes away. Can't wait to go back. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an okay park. We were a little disappointed as we believed the park was right next to the ocean. It is across a busy street and many of the sites have a view of a very large industrial storage building. We were fortunate and had a good view of Discovery Passage. Check in was easy and efficient. The staff were friendly and professional. The sites are arranged so that a Coach can nose in and next to it a Trailer can back in. They were gravel and level. The services are in the middle (and well placed) so that everyone has a view (if available). There are no privacy breaks between units and they were typical urban spacing, fairly tight. There is a grass strip in front that has a fire ring and then a chain link fence. The dog walk is a long wide strip of grass next to the busy road so there is not an opportunity for any off leash time. P,W,S and Cable are included. Wi-Fi is planned very well in my opinion. None is free but there is an opportunity to purchase the amount of service you need. Basic being quite reasonably priced and for those that need to stream movies, more expensive. We don’t know how well the service worked as we have our own mobile internet service. Cable is basic. There is a large shopping center within walking distance complete with restaurants if you need them and a Burger Joint right next door. The park is in the city therefore expect typical urban noise. Traffic seemed to die down in the evenings but during the day we heard Helicopters and Sea Planes taking off and landing as well as traffic. We discovered that there are a number of permanent units in the park. It was pretty much impossible to tell which ones. Wow. Every one looked like it was transient. Rules are basic and enforced. While we were there, we were able to spot a number of Killer Whales as well as view Cruise Ships on their way to and from Alaska. This is not a resort so don’t expect to be entertained. We paid $34.65 including taxes and feel we received good value. We would return. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an awesome location!!!! Our front window looked out over the Alaskan Marine Hwy and we watched freighters & cruise ships go by. Good 50 amps, long level sites which easily accommodated our 45 footer & towed vehicle with grass facing the ocean. Very close to everything in town. We did not use the facilities, but park is very clean & well kept. This is definitely a place we will return when visiting Campbell River. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Motorhome.

Basically this is a huge gravel parking lot just half a mile past a shopping mall north of Campbell River. Sites are arranged side by side, no trees, no shade, no privacy. The road between the RV park and the water isn't busy at all, very quiet at night indeed. The sites are well leveled, easy to get in and out and the hookups are arranged perfectly. Wi-Fi was reliable and mostly fast. Overall a good place to stay for a reasonable price if you go out for day trips in the area. The place itself is not the nicest to hang out and the more attractive sites to the rear that offer some nice views to Strathcona are occupied by seasonals. However, if looking for a place to stay for a few nights in the area we would come here again. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Large gravel pads with grass at the back of the site with a fire pit. Well kept and clean. WiFi was $1 a day and was good at your spot. We were backed up to the strait. The road was between us and the water. There was lots of traffic during the day, but it was quiet during the night. Nice and close to shopping, boat tours and Elk Falls. Staff was friendly and helpful. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Has a beautiful view of the ocean and islands, as well as the estuary. Eagles, cruise ships and snow covered mountains in the distance. Great walking paths out the gate. It's near town, and has excellent hosts. We will come back. WiFi was $1 a day extra. The 7th day of camping is free. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A nice spot close to city center Campbell River. A great biking trail and park nearby! Charge $8.00 per wheel barrel of wood and allow fires. Nice, well kept park. Cost was lower due to us staying one week. We camped at Thunderbird RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
