There were big potholes in the gravel road as soon as you enter the park past the gatehouse and on some of the campground loops. There are several different loop campgrounds here. We were in Radium, but in site R58 which is isolated from that loop being that it is on the main campground road. With only one neighbour, it was very private. Our site was a gravel back-in and level. It had a picnic table and fire ring. They were maintained and clean. There are pit toilets in each of the loops and the day use area. A dump station and potable water are available near the entrance to the campground. There is a playground and large field located above the day use area. A boat ramp and beach (even one for dogs) are on the north end of the lake. The beach wasn't accessible due to high water. The Trans Canada Trail and local park trails are available for hiking. The scenery is spectacular with all the surrounding mountains. The campground has pretty dense foliage with a lot of moss on the ground. This place would be a good base camp for the experienced hiker or if you had a boat. We camped at Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very pleasant place to go to get away from it all for a few days, not the kind of place you're going to go for a quick overnight stop. It's about 50Km (30 miles) in on a good paved road. There is no cell service and, although we don't have a satellite dish, I would guess you wouldn't be able to get much satellite reception because of the trees and mountains. Having said that, turn off the phone and just relax in nature or go for a hike! We have a 31' fifth wheel so we like to stay in the "Radium" loop because it is a bit newer and the spots are a bit larger with more space in between. The drawback is that it's farther from the lake, but not too far. Most of the sites in this loop are reservable (a red tag on the site post saying "reserved") but if a spot isn't reserved for that night, you can camp in that spot for two nights. There is a notice board just before the turnoff to the Radium loop that will list the available sites so check it out before you go driving around looking for a spot. Also, be careful entering the park. The road has lots of potholes but it gets better as you go in. It sure slows down the traffic! We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I stayed at this campsite in July 2016. We stayed at the lower loop that was closest to the lake and the beach. Our campsite was clean and easy to access. We were back to back on campsites which was the only issue I had.

There are great trails to be explored one that went to a bridge over the Chilliwack River where you got to see spawning salmon. We camped at Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Chilliwack Lake is about 1 1/2 hours drive from Vancouver. Road is paved to campsite but roads within campsite are not. There are 146 sites, 41 of which are reservable. The newer part of the campground - Radium Loop - has the largest and more open sites. The remainder of the loops are in the treed area. There is a small boat launch and a parking lot for boat trailers. There is a beach but it is fairly small and the water is quite cold. The pit toilets were not particularly clean or well-maintained. The continual presence of hordes of flies rendered them uninviting and more or less unusable. This resulted in a lower park rating - otherwise it is quite a nice campground. There is no cell phone coverage. While we were there, a fire ban was in effect but there are fire pits and picnic tables at each campsite with plenty of room between sites. Campground is open from May 1 to October 13. We camped at Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park is about 45 minutes east of the city of Chilliwack along the Chilliwack River. The campground is at the west end of the 9 kilometer long mountain lake. Its a typically beautiful BC Park in the mountains. The campsites are in the trees. The lake is great for swimming, boating and kayaking. LOTS of great hiking from level walks to strenuous mountain climbs. There is potable water for your tanks at the sani-station. No hookups at the campsites though, so be sure your batteries are charged up. The campground was full when I was there during the week at the height of summer. Lots of local people who have been coming up to the lake year after year for decades. Although there were some noisy teens, the park hosts kept everybody happy. I loved it! We camped at Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.
