This was our first trip out this year. A little later than normal because of the cool weather we have had. Check in was a non event as we were given our site number when we reserved (and reserve you should. This can be a very busy park). We simply set up camp and looked after the financials Monday morning when the office opened. Our site was up on the hill this time and the ocean views were beautiful. All of the services worked well except the Wifi (barely good enough to check e-mail). Basic Cable TV is included in the nightly fee but I really hate having to install the "box" (not the operators fault but that of the provider). You can upgrade the offerings including adding internet should you desire, Within an easy walk are small stores for groceries, pubs and restaurants. The nearest full service center including big box stores and medical facilities is Duncan (about a 15 minute drive). There is plenty to do in and around Crofton. Lots of walking and hiking trails, fishing, whale watching, investigating the tidal pools, and the ferry to Salt Spring Island is almost next door. We paid $27.00 per night plus tax and we feel we received good value for our dollar. We will return. We camped at Osborne Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit "The Raptors" pnwraptors.com/, Forest Museum bcforestdiscoverycentre.com. On Salt Spring Island a drive up Mount Maxwell. http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/mt_maxwell . Very worth the trip but pick a sunny day or else all you will see are the top of clouds. 4X4 is not really necessary but don't take a low slung Buick.

Nice view of the ocean and walking trail right at our doorstep, along with a small sandy Beach Park a short distance away. Wi-Fi not available at our site, as you have to be near the guest house to pick up signal. Overall a pleasant stay for the money. We camped at Osborne Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

Crofton is a bit off the beaten path but well worth visiting. The park has many long term residents but only a few site were junky. We were able to secure E10 which is right next to the water. The views are very nice even though we could see the stacks and steam from the nearby Pulp Mill. It is quiet and sheltered. There is a lot of foot traffic almost on our door step from the Board Walk that will take you to the B C Ferry Dock (goes to Salt Spring Island) and nearby shops. Basic services are available in Crofton. Sites are large enough but not huge. Wifi was non existent but we were told that going in. Our big complaint was the power. Probably because we were here off season, and there was not an extra charge for power, all residents were probably using the electric to heat their units. It took forever to warm anything in the microwave so we limited our use of appliances. We will be back to explore Salt Spring and surrounding areas. We feel we were well served for the $28.00 Cdn inc Tax that we paid. We camped at Osborne Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

We called to make a reservation and were fortunate to be able to reserve a full-service (30 amp) site that was adjacent to the beach (E10). The park has power and water only sites right along the water, too, and further from the water there are full-service sites. Reception was excellent. We were advised that Wi-Fi was only accessible very near to the office, and even with an antenna booster, I was unable to connect from our site. There is a very nice boardwalk that goes in both directions from the park. The walk to Crofton is short, and there are a few shops, cafes, and a grocery store with a surprising selection of items. We did get some odor from the pulp mill early one morning, but for the rest of our 3-day stay, it was not detectable. We used the park as a base to explore the area's wineries, lakes, small bay towns and Chemainus. We explored other RV parks in the area, and we thought that Osborne Bay was the nicest. We would stay there again if we could get site E10. We camped at Osborne Bay Resort in a Motorhome.

"Diamond in the rough" best sums it up. Nice transients, many miserable full-timers who ignore the rules, unsafely. Very quiet, except for the 4:00 am risers going to work, slamming doors and roaring out. Although very close to a pulp and paper mill, there is absolutely no smell ! No recreation facilities except a kids' swing and tree fort, unsafe ocean swimming, no beach, and a low-tide accessible boat dock. Be prepared to be moved from site-to-site if you are not one of the long-time returning families - they come first, and rest of transients are slotted into the short vacancies. Rate reflects longer-term stay. Note on the laundry - often one or more broken machines, always dirty, poorly maintained. Water pressure at sites varies between 20 - 32 psi. Water is drinkable, chlorinated, fluoridated, but clean and safe. Town of Crofton is quite small, has two small grocery stores, one selling booze, there is a pub, book store, video rental and knickknack shops. It's only 20 minutes to a larger town (Duncan), or an hour to Victoria or Nanaimo. We camped at Osborne Bay Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A hidden gem, and very friendly people. This RV park is hard to get a spot in. It is very busy in the spring/summer/fall/winter. I recommend to book early so you are not disappointed. Great managers and they always go out of their way to help you. This park is right next to the ferry that goes over to Salt Spring Islands. If you want a park that you can relax in, this is it. Would most definitely stay here again. We camped at Osborne Bay Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
