Nothing fancy about this campground, but it has friendly owners and the sites are long enough for big rigs. Our site had a bit of roll that brought out some levelers. This particular site (#44) had trees on one side for privacy, small picnic table, fire ring, and a community fire bowl that would only be used when a group reserves the section around it. Half the pull-throughs appeared to be occupied by workers probably due to ongoing highway construction in the area. There was a grass area near the office for smaller units and tenters. The hookups at our site were conveniently located midway for our 28 ft rig. Received around 10 OTA TV channels, mostly Canadian networks and PBS. Wi-Fi worked well enough for e-mail and browsing. Nice panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. We would stay here again if ever back this way. We camped at Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park in a Motorhome.

Golden is around 20km south where food, gas, restaurants, and shops are available. The pedestrian bridge over the Kicking Horse River was worth seeing.

We wanted to try something in the Golden area that was further from the trains and Transcanada. Definitely quieter than other campgrounds. Check in was efficient and polite. Fairly clean except for other campers dog poops that weren't picked up. Good enough for 1 night on the way to somewhere else. We camped at Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park in a Motorhome.

We had a really bad experience here. We will never return or recommend to anyone!!!! First, we had to go find the guy to check in. Then he asks me if we're going to run our AC. I tell him no. He says he'll have to charge me more if we do. Then we have to pay $5/day for WiFi. I say okay and pay him. We get to our site and there's no WiFi. So I go to the laundry room and the lady who owns it is gardening nearby and said that they are working on the WiFi. She doesn't offer a refund. So I start my laundry and the power goes out... for 3 hours!! Next 2 days we have all of our windows and door open and we're running our fans and the AC police comes by and tells us that we didn't pay to run the AC! I tell him that it's our fans and, oh by the way, the WiFi does not work. He tells me to get in his golf cart and go with him to the office and get the WiFi there. That didn't work either. He said that he'd tell the owner. We also told another guy (son?) He didn't care either. And, of course, no one was in the office at 8:30 when we were leaving. Couldn't wait to get out of there and just sacrificed the money. Really old park with junk all over the place. Also, the mosquitoes are just awful!! You can't be outside or you'll be eaten alive!! It's a 25 or 30 minute drive to Golden to do or get anything! Avoid this place!!! We camped at Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park in a Travel Trailer.

We had a pull through and stayed in Site #47. The PT was long enough for us to stay hitched to the trailer and we are 55' long in total. The park's roadways were large enough to make manoeuvrability not a problem. Sites were a combination of grass and hard gravel. It was early in the year and the grass we just greening up. The manageress was very friendly and helpful. We have previously stayed at the Municipal Campground and Whispering Spruce and this park is decidedly better. The only downside if there is one, is that it is located about 16 miles west of Golden at Donald, BC. We would definitely stay there again. We camped at Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We unexpectedly found ourselves looking for a place to stay quite late in the day. Everything in Golden was full so we headed for Revelstoke. About 30 minutes west of Golden we came upon Campers Haven. We were given their last open site. 30 Amp and water but no sewer. All sites are very accessible long pull thrus. We didn't have to disconnect our Towed. Service was very friendly. Park was clean and well laid out. We spent a quiet night there. A great place to overnight. The closest place for groceries and fuel is Golden so make sure you are stocked up before you arrive. We will stop by again. We camped at Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park in a Motorhome.

Upon arriving at the park, you immediately notice the many flowers surrounding the easily found office. The park is very big rig friendly with large grassy pull-thrus, 30amp, good water pressure, two person picnic tables, gravel roads and fire ring. You will hear trains in the distance as well as coyotes. Will return for the quiet and spacious sites. We camped at Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park in a Motorhome.

Good WiFi, lots of stations on the antenna, perfect place to stay for a few days or weeks. Big pull thrus, quiet with no road noise. The train is far enough and only blows its horns when there is a bear on the tracks. Great owners who live in the park. We come here every year for a visit and love it. We have stayed here several times, we love this park. Huge pullthrus, all 30 amp, grass sites and beautiful views. Great owners! Great WiFi and a view channels on our antenna, enough. Golden only a 30 minute drive. We will be back. We camped at Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Golden is a good place to do some little shopping, IGA is much cheaper then going to a shop in Banff or Jasper, stock up here if you are going on to the parks.

Our stay was awesome. The owners are very nice and helpful with anything you may need. The campground was PACKED but Norma Jean made room for us and put us on nice site that was huge! All of the serviced sites are pull through and huge.....All non service sites are quite large too and are situated in a small orchard of fruit trees. Norma loves her flowers so there are pots of flowers and garden everywhere. We will come back and stay.....they are a short 5 minute drive down to the Columbia river which is just outstanding! Overall Rating:

We had a very good two-night stay at this campground. We were very late in the season but they kept the water on for us (we were the only guests present). It's a small, family-run campground with a very personal touch. The sites are quite large, all grass, fairly well spaced (but not overly private as nothing separates you from your neighbours). No cell service, no cable, but Wi-Fi is free and was solid (not sure how it would be during the summer when the campground gets very busy). Water and sewer were fine; power is limited to 30 amps. Easy for big rigs--but as noted in another review, trees at the entrance of each pull-through makes it difficult to negotiate with a larger rig. We backed into our spot instead, with no issue at all since the central 'road' is quite wide. We camped at Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

While there are no services in Donald as such, Golden is about 15 minutes away. We feel this campground if far better than the municipal campground in Golden, especially with a big rig.

Nice park. Be careful of directions, as Garmin does not have latest roads. Exit on Donald RD off RT#1 just West of weigh station. Stopped for the night. Did laundry ($2 wash and $0.25 for few min in dryer but dryers were reasonably quick with a couple loads only needing $0.75). Level gravel sites. Good Wi-Fi signal. Would stay here again. Nice place but have to pay $5 extra a person after 2 people even if you're staying in one tent at a non-power site. Then have to pay for showers and laundry. Nice people an nice place but a bit pricey for the lack of accommodations. We camped at Camper's Haven RV and Tent Park in a Tent.

Nothing fancy, but wide and long pull throughs, great views of the surrounding mountains in the distance. Grassy sites and nice fire pits. Very friendly staff. Just 25 km from Golden and 50 km from Yoho. Very quiet, almsot no noise of road or trains! Good value for money, we stayed here with PPAmerica discount. Certainly will come back when passing by.
