5 Parks near Fort Fraser, British Columbia
Aug 2016 - $25.00
After reading the other reviews, I had some concern that Piper's Glen would be a dud, but I didn't find that to be the case at all. I called for my reservation a few weeks prior to arriving, so I had no problem getting a 30 amp hookup. The view is fantastic, overlooking Fraser Lake. Yes, the TransCanada highway is behind us, but I doubt that it will create any disturbance. Also, the Canadian National Railway is below us, but again, I can't say that is an issue.
This looks to be a rather pleasant campground with a play area for the kids, a place for tent camping, canoes for rent, etc.
I would stay here again. - mpruet

This RV park has a beautiful view of Fraser Lake just downhill to the north. It is situated just below Highway 16 and just above the railroad tracks so expect some noise 24/7. The sites are mostly on grass with power and water but sanitation is through the communal dump. The vast majority of business comes from transients staying for one night so it is easy and possible to meet people coming from where you are heading or vice versa and that coupled with the view is probably its major attraction. - Kern

We did not camp here but tried to get a spot as we were tired. They had plenty of vacancies but they were all 15amp. From what the lady told me they have very few 30 amps. When I had asked for 30 amp, she looked at me like I was weird. The place looks OK and has a nice view over a lake but BEWARE 30 amp service is a rarity. - Sherib

Very nice park with a nice beach. Sites are large and shaded with privacy between sites. - Donna P

A short 1/2 kilometer drive from Rt 16. This free park is one of the nicest campgrounds I have ever stayed in and is completely free. 7 completely level, gravel, pull-throughs about 90 feet long, all facing the lake, with 3 back-ins. No trees, completely open. Immaculately clean and manicured. Two flush restrooms, but no hookups, no water, and no dump. Lakefront with a swimming beach. 2 night maximum. If you are looking for an overnight on 16, you are making a huge mistake if you pass this by. We stayed here in a 39 foot rig. - CharlieS

Glad we found this campground in Vanderhoof. It is operated by the city. The host was very friendly, and the sites were very attractive and decent privacy. The sites are in one loop. We got a site with electric and water, but you can also top up water from faucets spread through the campground. The campground is right next to the Nechako river. There is a trail that loops around the attached park to the river and during migratory seasons you can view the birds from an elevated tower overlooking the Nechako migratory bird sanctuary. - johnhag

Very clean and well kept showers, bathrooms and community room, we exchanged books. Didn't use wifi, Verizon signal was good. Very open spaces with garbage cans at site, convenient. Some sites had firepits. - AGalinAZ

Costs are in Canadian funds. Arrived with the intent of staying 3 nights, but we were only showing as staying 1 night on their ledger. Paid in full for three nights and then explored the town of Vanderhoof looking for a restaurant, but none were found or open. Our site was not level and required pads to level. This park is situated on a modest slope. All services available on site and cell service was available. The park charges $3 plus tax for wifi and it is valid for only 24 hours. We would not stay here again.
After seeing the lack of amenities in town, we told the owner that we may not stay 3 nights, but 2. We asked if he would credit us the night we gave up, his response: "Why should I?" The park was more than 50% vacant so he was not going to lose revenue. - Semiretired
Jul 2016 - $29.00
We enjoyed staying in this park on our way to the lower 48. The staff was friendly and helpful. The park including the showers and restrooms were very clean. Our site was spacious and level. This park is a little off of the main road, but easy enough to get to. Wi-Fi is available, but at an extra cost. We decided to forgo it for our stay. - Another brick in the wall
