We were traveling with 2 other couples and called ahead that morning and owner saved us 3 adjacent spots. This is not like so many other campgrounds, sites in the trees seem to fit the lay of the land in a random order. Most are pull throughs and if you stop early enough, some of the sites can accommodate the largest rigs. The resident owner is often busier than a 1 armed paper hanger as she runs the front and and her husband does all the baking in the back. She has little tolerance for nonsense but when things quiet down, her stories are a hoot. The cinnamon buns are amazing as are the breads and cured meats. They also offer a soup of the day. Diesel and 87 octane is offered as a convenience for those who need it. Power comes from a diesel generator concealed in a cabin and is quiet and not objectionable. 15A only on electric sites. Outlets do not have customer accessible circuit breakers. Power is 15A, enough to run 12 volt equipment and charge your batteries, but not enough for electric heaters, microwave, electric water heater, etc. If you need those things, look elsewhere. Everything here is expensive because of its remoteness. On the other hand, the camping rates are more than reasonable. This is a great spot for an overnight along the ALCAN. They also have a few cabins for the car travelers. We will definitely return on our next passage. We camped at Tetsa River Lodge (formerly Tetsa River Services) in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed overnight. Was asked not to use sewer due to excessive rain and drainage issues however we were able to use dump station. The staff are so welcoming and comical! Only 15 amp at our site. Enjoyed the grassy surroundings after being in so many gravel campsites and especially enjoyed the cinnamon buns! We camped at Tetsa River Lodge (formerly Tetsa River Services) in a Fifth Wheel.

Good spot for an overnight stay, right off of the road, we were going to stay at provincial park near there but saw so many bears near there we thought we would stay in a populated park. People friendly, except on wifi which was limited. I got an unexpected phone call over wifi in their presence and was asked to not talk over IP. Ok, thats fine didn't know how limited it was really was. Generator runs for electricity, they put is in the back away from it which was nice. Overall a good spot to stop. On way back stayed at Muncho Lake which was spectacular. We camped at Tetsa River Lodge (formerly Tetsa River Services) in a Truck Camper.

Overall Rating:

This park is nestled amongst trees and has the feel of a real campground, rather than just a pull-off along the AlCan. There are 25 sites, 8 = EWS, 17 = EW; $31.50 Cdn for EW or EWS. There are a few pull-throughs, and 4 cabins (3@$95, 1@$120). Electricity is by generator and is advertised as 15 amp, but that is a maximum. That being said it was enough to power my electric fridge, electric cooler, coffee maker, run the stereo and TV, and our electric blanket. I was even able to run my toaster oven, though I didn't try the microwave or electric water heater. There are free hot showers and a laundry (wash & dry = $4 each). Diesel & gas = $1.60/L. There is no cell phone service or WiFi, satellite radio works, but my satellite TV did not, though I was parked amongst trees. We camped at Tetsa River Lodge (formerly Tetsa River Services) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Cinnamon buns ($5) are huge and phenomenal. Bus tours stop expressly for their famous cinnamon buns and coffee. Their home smoked bacon at $9 for 6 slices is ridiculously expensive but sooo delicious. They also make bread daily. I especially like their multigrain whole wheat ($6 a loaf), which has just a touch of sweetness, like old fashioned brown bread.

Located about 75 miles north of Ft Nelson, this was an ok overnight spot. Very basic park, heavily wooded with good spacing of sites. They are on generator which goes until 10, then no power until early morning. Wifi was very limited and apparently someone was downloading too much, so they shut it down. We were given no instructions about limited usage which would have been helpful. I think we caught the woman at the desk on a bad day because she was quite the grump the whole time we were there. We camped at Tetsa River Lodge (formerly Tetsa River Services) in a Travel Trailer.

Doesn't amount to much. We had a pull through that was suppose to have hook ups (ones we didn't want). Well you couldn't reach them because they were at least a 100' away. They put us in a site with trees. It would have been nice enough, but the limbs hung down below our roof. I had to get on the roof and lift the limbs so we could get in and out. Showers and restrooms didn't look inviting at all. Cinnamon biscuits were good, but not worth $5 each. The wife and I split one. I would go down the road t next time. In the middle of nowhere (between towns), but a nice wooded area with passable sites and electric and water. But the electric is on generator only during the day. Wi-Fi worked for my good computer, but weak for my wife's. Very friendly people and excellent cinnamon buns - with cute "star trek" advertising signs on highway. High priced gas if you really needed it. We would stay there again if we did not need to dump. They were talking about selling or closing, after three generations in the same family. Your are on the Alaskan Highway. This is a great place to stay overnight. There's no formal registration and the people are as friendly as you'll find. The water is good, electricity is off after 9pm (all by generator) and back on at 5:30am. Their Wi-Fi is spotty but for them as well as you. Sites are nice, restrooms and showers are in a trailer but are clean as a whistle. The best part are the cinnamon buns in the morning - hot from the oven and one is big enough for a meal. Unless you area major fussy, I would recommend this place for an overnight just because they are so friendly. We camped at Tetsa River Lodge (formerly Tetsa River Services) in a Fifth Wheel.
