The sites are big and there are some nice trees. However there are a lot of full time campers living here and things are quite run down. The spot is very close to a major highway and very noisy. There were people building shelters for their trailers so a lot of noise from power tools etc. We were here for 4 nights which we had pre-booked. It isn't a destination but more of a stopover. On day 2 of our stay, the pump for fresh well water malfuntioned and there seemed to be no urgency to fix this even though everyone was without fresh water. It never did get fixed before we left. There was one bathroom that was very clean but the other one was old and run down. Of course when there was no fresh water the washrooms were closed. We would never go back to this campground. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Access to the park is good. It is about 15 minutes east of the good sized town of Hope. Check in was quick and easy. An elderly couple appear to operate the park. They were friendly and offered information about the surrounding area. The office also serves as a small store. It offered snack food, ice etc. The park is located in a mountain valley so noise travels easily. That being said, the road noise was tolerable. There was NO cable or WiFi. Telus and Bell cell services worked very well. Sites are all back in and some larger rigs might have a problem on a few of the corners. Power, water and sewer all worked well and were properly placed in the site. Roads are hard packed gravel/dirt and could use some work. Sites are sparse gravel, dirt and uncut, dry grass. Most of the sites are heavily treed. We did no try for any over the air channels We had a table and fire pit. The fire pit was unusable because a fire ban was in effect. The forest was very dry and a number of wild fires were burning in the province. We noticed a small playground with dated equipment and a stocked fish pond. There is no marked pet area. We did not see any dog droppings around and leash rules appeared to be being followed. A number of permanents call this place home. Most were in good condition. This park is crying for a serious upgrade. We would use this park for an over nighter again. We paid $38.85 Cdn and would return. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A short hike is available that takes you to an abandoned railway road and the Othello Tunnels. We did not go so have no comment.

The lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating so I really would like to give this place a good review. Unfortunately, it's not great and at $35 for electric and water it is way overpriced in my estimation. The sites are short, close, and uneven as all get out. Took us a lot of maneuvering to get close to level. The ground was a muddy mess after some rain and it's right next to the busy highway with a fair amount of road noise, although with the camper closed up it was tolerable. Good thing I'm in a charitable mood, otherwise I'd call it a hell hole. But after a year on the road I've been in a lotvworse. There's wi-fi which would've been nice if it had WORKED. Didn't check out the restroom/shower/laundry. I would expect it's probably clean but very dated...like most of the place. The FHU sites looked slightly better but they were more money too. We will check out the "Othello Tunnels" which are just down the road tomorrow and I suppose if you're really amped about them this might be a convenient place to stay. I dunno, though. No matter how cool these tunnels are, I think you could do a lot better than this as a place to stay. The town of Hope is just down the road and the RV park right on the lake there in the middle of town was cheaper and looked comparable except with a nice view and within walking distance of restaurants. I'd go there if I come through this way again. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Very convenient to Othello Tunnels; an easy 1.3 km walk will get you to the trail head and then it's another 500 meters to the tunnels themselves. The campground is not a country club, but it is well kept and everything worked. Sites are wide and fairly open. Check in was seamless. If you take one of the full service (13-19) sites at the back, freeway noise from the Coquihalla Highway, located across the river, is a non issue. It is actually possible to cool off in the river but access is via a rocky bank, not for small children or those not sure footed. The store is very basic; however, they loaned us dice so we could play Yahtzee! It's about 10 minutes down to Hope if you need supplies. Overall, we liked it and will stay there again the next time we visit the tunnels. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Small RV Park with mostly grass and a bit of gravel. The noise from the Coquihalla Highway is non stop, but if you are camping or RVing in British Columbia near a major highway you will find trains are highway noise. Limited number of sites that have sewer hook ups, but there is a sani-flush. Wifi strength is very poor, even if you are close to the wifi transmitter. There is no cable TV, and no over the air TV channels available. Showers are free, but the building is very old. A little on the pricey side for what you get. OK for a one or two night stay if you are travelling through, but next time we will probably chose a different Park. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very friendly mom and pop run park. Nothing fancy, but everything works and it has well kept gravel and grass sites. We had a great site looking out over the fish pond. This park is nestled in amongst tall fir trees and the only negative about it is it is close to the Coquihalla freeway, but no railway tracks. I would definitely stay here again. We had a beatiful walk to Othello tunnels. No problem getting a big rig in here. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here with a camping club that has been coming to this park for several years. The owner is very friendly, and the campground has a nice covered pavilion for group get togethers. We were late checking in, so our site was not one of the nicest. There are several large grassy sites that are very nice. The fish pond is a neat attraction, and it is fun watching the owner feed the fish. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a shockingly downscale park. It may be clean but the facilities are more on par with a third world country. There are so many long-term residents with lean-to's built up around their trailers that this park looks more like a rural Louisiana trailer park than an RV park. The playground was unsafe, the shower was partly made of (painted) chipboard and the highway was so close you could actually see the semi-trailer lights shine through your window each time one went past. We will never be going back there again, especially since there are so many others in the area. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Hmm: Not so good. Yuck. We felt we needed eyes at the back of our heads, I will try to explain a little further. Guys camping freely in the bush. No "tents" just card board boxes as blankets. The kind of people that don't have access to a shower to clean themselves and I don't even want to think about the "what goes in must come out" situation. Getting the picture? Maybe they are gone now, I have no idea. Not in a hurry to return. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We've stayed here before, never rated. This place, as previous reviewers have stated, could use some TLC however, it's close to the tunnels which are great. There's a fishing pond for kids, which our grandchild loved and it's dog friendly which I really like. Great overnight spot and we'd stay there again. Pleasant hosts and great neighbors made this a great trip. The whole campground could use some TLC but otherwise quite nice. Free hot showers and firewood is available for $5 a bundle. We camped at Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
