Self registration, although a sign said an attendant would come around later (which didn't happen in our case). Access road and main park loop road paved, interior roads gravel and individual sites gravel back-ins. Some sites (including ours) well laid out, while some sites had steep access to the pads. Our site was large enough for a big rig and included a picnic table and fire ring. The table was the standard cedar which had not been maintained in a while. No OTA TV and satellite TV would have been impossible due to the trees. No Wi-Fi or cell phone service either. A pay phone down near the beach was not working, so don't know how one would be able to get hold of anyone in an emergency. There was a beach trail nearby, but it was fairly steep and not maintained. We probably would not bother staying here again if in the area. We camped at Paul Lake Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Really nice provincial park 18 km outside of Kamloops. There is a nice beach area and a large day use area if you just want a picnic. The campsites are large and have mature trees. The trees have been cleared out well so that it's easy to back into the campsites. Loops aren't necessarily one-way, so you may have to turn around and go through from the opposite direction so that you can easily back in once you choose a site. The beach is a long walk from the campground and you may want to drive to it. There is plenty of parking down there, however. There is a dump station here, but it is a $5.00 (CAN) additional charge to use it, even if you camp here. No cell phone (Canada Bell) or WiFi. We did get local Kamloops radio stations, but no television. We camped at Paul Lake Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived late and found no space, but the wardens were really friendly and helpful and directed us to the overflow campground. The overflow campground was right next to the lake and had public toilets. The site was level and quiet. There were some good hiking trails directly from the campground. I'd recommend climbing to the top of Gibraltar rock! We camped at Paul Lake Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park with lots to do but, as with all Provincial parks We have visited lately - found the primary purpose of the park is to generate cash for the contractor - there is no longer any up keep of any of the facilities, rules are not enforced and it has taken a toll on the park and it's atmosphere. We hadn't even leveled our rig before getting asked for cash. The 20K speed limit is ignored by all, including the park staff as they were busily selling fire wood even though there were lots of kids running around. Such a shame. We camped at Paul Lake Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

If you like to dry camp this is a great place to enjoy a few days. The park is about 15 miles north of Kamloops located on a very nice lake. There is plenty to do here so just enjoy. If you have a big rig, plan on using one of the back-in sites on the outer loop for easy access. The inside sites are a little tight but some are still okay for a bigger rig. We camped at Paul Lake Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.
