Nice park, no sewer but dump station by the park. Short walk to town. Quaint shops, restaurants, a brewery and a store. I would stay again. We camped at Kaslo Municipal Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground is located near Kootenay Lake on the edge of town so it is easy to walk into town to enjoy the shops and services. Since we were staying only one night it was difficult to find a site that would accommodate our 43 feet of truck and trailer. The manager was quite helpful in finding us a level, grassed site with 30 amp power and water. The pay showers ($1 for 3 minutes) are clean and new. There is a sanidump nearby along with wifi, and radio but no tv. We would stay here again. We camped at Kaslo Municipal Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

In Kaslo there are a number of attractions including the SS Moyie, a local farmers market, visitor centre, and unique shops. There are a number of benches along the sandy shore looking out over the Kootenay Lake and the mountains.

This is the second time we've camped here. The first time we stayed in a site in the campground but this year we booked too late due to the popularity of the Kaslo Jazz Music Festival and were put in the overflow. We ended up on the park access road but, as it turned out, it was the perfect location. We had an unobstructed view of the lake and lots of room to spread out, all for $25 Cdn/night. We camped for 4 days without services but had no issues. The actual campground is small with power and water so if you're planning to camp here, book ahead. The hosts are great people and are eager to accommodate. They did a wonderful job of controlling the unusually large number of campers for the festival. The location is within easy walking distance to the main village. Kaslo is a delight which offers spectacular scenery, clean lake (a bit cool in the early summer though), great cycling and kayaking and a number of very good restaurants. If you motorcycle, the roads leading into Kaslo are fantastic with some challenging twisties. A quick drive south to Ainsworth Hot Springs offers a chance to relax in one of the many hot springs in the area. This is a great area to camp and explore so do yourself a favor and visit the Kootenays. We camped at Kaslo Municipal Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I go to this campsite at least one a year for a long stay. It is at a premium location, close to town and all the activities. Camp host is fantastic and makes you feel at home. It has nice camp sites. Bathroom facilities are very nice and kept clean. Lake is very close for bathing and picnicking. We camped at Kaslo Municipal Campground in a Tent.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure to call for reservation. It fills up pretty quick. Especially during music festival and lumberjack competition.

Lots of interesting and historic sites in town. Movie (the stern wheeler of the last century ) is dry docked there for visitation, mining museum, Japaneese internment museum and the old city jail is amongst the few. Also hiking is great, especially up and down the river.

I really like spending time in Kaslo.

Very clean and friendly park. New washrooms since the last time we were here. Park can be a little crowded when full as it was Labour Day weekend but still enough room to put out slides and awnings. All sites are grassed and some with large shade trees. Mostly only 15 amp service but for me that is plenty. Host was very nice and was always busy cutting grass or cleaning areas after sites were empty and before new campers arrived. We camped in a 35' rig and certainly would come back again. We camped at Kaslo Municipal Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a pleasure. The manager seemed to be continually working to keep this grass covered park in top shape. There is a free dump at the park. The manager even offered us the key if we wanted to use the dump before our very early departure on Sunday morning. Kaslo is a charming little town close to Ainsworth Hot Springs. Our space was an easy in and out for our 50' long truck and travel trailer. The park is bordered by the lake and a nice city park. We stayed two extra days and will choose it again. The management and camp cleanliness both rate a 10. We camped at Kaslo Municipal Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The RV park is very small and it is like a parking lot with grassed sites, wooden tables with a fire ring and electrical supply post that only allows for only one of the two adjacent sites to use the 30Amp service while the next rig can only use the 15Amp. So if it gets hot and you need air conditioning you are out of luck because the rule is "first come gets the 30 Amps" The best thing about this park is the location beeing so close to the "one and only" Front Street for groceries and window shopping. The lake is cold and there is no real beach for the swimming folks. Nothing is truly organized and outstanding to memory. The park host is nice and does a fine job directing trafic and looking after the grounds and facilities. The WiFi was the best we have ever had in any location. Flying fast. The washrooms were brand new and nice. Shower is 1 Canadian Dollar for 4 minutes. No laundry, no pool no excercise room and not much else. Park and play. Good enough for a couple of nights if you have to be in this area. We camped at Kaslo Municipal Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Upon arrival we had to pick a site as caretaker was not home (even though a sign said to see her first). Most of the sites are grass back-ins with little privacy in between. The campground has a view of the lake, but is at least 100 ft away from the shoreline. Power and water worked fine. No sewer, but sani dump available nearby for an extra $5 and caretaker has to unlock it. No cable TV, but satellite TV worked fine from our site (#21). Wi-Fi signal was good. Within walking distance of the village and the SS Moyie. We camped at Kaslo Municipal Campground in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent campground with an excellent hostess. You can request overflow and camp on the lake shore. Considering this is in the city, it is a completely quiet campground. We camped at Kaslo Municipal Campground in a Travel Trailer.
