Camping among the trees and shade gives a wilderness feel to this park despite its convenient location near a small town and the hot springs. Roads are paved; sites are dirt and not too level, but our pull-through was spacious. Electricity hookup was convenient, but we didn't have water or sewer. No WiFi or laundry. Bathrooms were nice and clean, even if a bit dated. This was a nice spot for a few days of hiking! We camped at Redstreak Campground (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.Undo

The fee structure for this campground is typical for all of the national parks that have at least electrical service. Dry (unserviced) cost $27.40. Electric only cost $32.30. FHU cost $38.20 and reservations costing $11. All campgrounds had a dump station(s) with fresh water available. The national park pass cost $67.70 per person and is good for all of the National Parks and some of the National museums. Otherwise, it would cost $8 per person per day to camp within the National Parks. Camp fires cost $8.50 per day with unlimited wood. Bring an axe – wood needs to be split more. There is no Wi-Fi within any of the parks. The utilities in this park have recently been upgraded and are located in middle side of the site. Very few of the sites are level. Many of the interior roads are narrow and are one way, but there are no signs indicating the direction. Seems like an accident waiting to happen. The interior roads are pot holed. There is a short steep uphill climb to get to the entrance to this park. Loop E has electric only. This loop would accommodate a 5th wheel 25 feet or shorter. We opted to stay at the FHU loop which was bigger and easier to get into. There were water spigots near the bathrooms within the loops that only had electricity. The bathrooms were clean and contained 3 showers. During our stay there appeared to be very little maintenance being done. There were no park hosts, perhaps this changes when the park officially opens. Reservations for this park started on Friday, June 14 and we understand that the campground was full. We would probably stay at this campground if we were in the area. However, we would go off season. We camped at Redstreak Campground (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

We where here just for closing season but they had still some beautiful pull through sites open. Big sites but some spots are a little difficult to get in and out because of the trees. But we managed well, and are not that experienced. Park is well maintained and just around the corner from Radium Hot Springs (3 miles). We sure will come back. Free WiFi at the Visitor Center downtown. Just be aware: the road to this campground appears all of a sudden, and is very poorly marked! It is just left passing (or before) the visitor center, outside the Park boundaries. We camped at Redstreak Campground (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This was a very nice campground in the Kootenay National Park. The restrooms were clean, national park attendants were very helpful, the campground was quiet. The park is working at updating the campground. Very pleasant experience. The only negative was charging an $8.00 extra fee in order to have a campfire. Campfires - and especially in a national park - are part of the experience - and to charge $8.00 for a campfire is really crummy. We camped at Redstreak Campground (Parks Canada) in a Truck Camper.Undo
