Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $34.00

We have stayed here in previous years but in the cabins. This time we decided to haul our trailer and camp. We have a 33 ft travel trailer and they did put us in a site close to the water, but all camping sites are in very close proximity to the campers next to you. There are no cedars/trees or fencing that separates you from the next campers. The resort is very well laid out and is immaculately maintained. Very clean. Horse Lake is mainly a fishing lake. We stayed for 4 days, and we had a great trip. Our kids loved the playground. I must add, that this resort has the best playground we have ever seen at any resort. It's all hand made and reminds you of the good ol' days. Huge zip line, teeter todders, climbing wood play house, neat tire swings. Even has a bicycle track with jumps/ramps. Since we hauled our trailer up, we weren't able to bring our fishing boat with. So we did rent one of their fishing boats for the duration of our stay. Great boats, and only $65-$80 a day including gas. We had no luck catching fish. Lots of bites, but only 1 fish was caught. We even rented one of their nice pontoon boats on our last day. Spacious boat, and well kept. The only downfall to the trip, and maybe it's because of the time of year we went??But since June is prime fishing month, and they hold their annual fishing derby in June, they have a lot of seniors stay for long periods of time (some seasonal, mostly returning guests)...And we felt unwelcome by a lot of them. As if we were intruding, or taking over their space. We are mid 30's with 2 children (ages 5 & 7), and I felt like we got lots of stares from the seniors, when the kids would ride their bikes, or fishing off the docks. Our children are well mannered and behaved, and we don't stay up partying. However, I myself, felt out of place being a minority age there. Still would return in the future though. We camped at Cariboo Bonanza Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is located beside Horse Lake and provides a number of sites with a lake view. Extra charges are $1 per dog per day, $5 per day for wifi, $1 for two minutes of shower, and $7 for a load of laundry. If possible use your cell phone data for WiFi service. Each site has some grass, a fire pit, and a table although your neighbor may be very close. Lots of pipe line workers staying here. We might stay here again. This is primarily a fishing resort on Horse Lake, so if the fishing is poor, there is not much else to do, although swimming off the dock is possible. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. Sites are laid out in kind of a random pattern and are close together. They even use a farm tractor to tow trailers in and out of tight spots. You may not be able to have your tow vehicle at your site. It looked to be the kind of place where people often have group camping trips / gatherings. We camped at Cariboo Bonanza Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Horse Lake is a beautiful lake in central British Columbia, east of 93 Mile House. The address is for Lone Butte, about 10 miles away. This is the only fishing resort and RV park left on Horse Lake. There are no mountain views, and not much hiking, but the fishing can be great. The park is off the road, right on the lake, and very quiet - except for the families staying here. There are new and old log cabins, play areas, tent sites, docks, boat rentals, and a small store. All interior roads are gravel, and the parking pads are either gravel, grass, or dirt. Some sites are shaded, some are in the open. Most are not very level, and the pull-throughs are short and packed together. The bathroom in my area (only cold water) was built of unpainted plywood, but clean. The showers ($) and laundry ($) are very nice. There is some cell service and WiFi is $5 per day. We camped at Cariboo Bonanza Resort in a Travel Trailer.
