Typical Provincial Park with a very nice setting on the lake, in the forest. Asphalt driveways, level sites on gravel, longer and shorter sites, no problem for a 36' motorhome, all sites with fire pit. No hookups at all, so bring all the water you can and empty grey & black holding tanks. Both, pit toilets and WC with basin to wash your hands! No showers. Hiking trails through the forest, store close by but not much of a choice there. Can be very busy on long weekends and sites can be reserved online. Firewood is available for a fee and dumping costs extra too. If you arrive or depart on a rainy day, your RV will be very, very dirty as the last kilometers before the Park coming from Lumby are on gravel. We will definitely stay there again. We camped at Mabel Lake Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Great park very friendly people. Great fishing and we'll kept. There is a sanity dump with a $5.00 surcharge. There is no showers on site, however there is old style outhouses. We camped at Mabel Lake Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very pretty campground. Lots of play areas for kids, just be careful for the gopher holes. Great area for boats and water activities. Remember to bring your own firewood, because for 6.00 a bundle you don't get very much. We camped at Mabel Lake Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

This park is way off the beaten path - 36 km from Lumby, the last few kilometers are gravel. Plan to take everything you will need for your entire stay. The Marina store has very few supplies. The sites are rather small and close together. We were lucky to find a nice site for our 36' fifth wheel but there weren't too many that size. The overflow area was very crowded every night. A very few sites have lake frontage. The park was very crowded and very noisy with loud trucks pulling boat trailers. Most people are there to use their boats and fish. There is a playground, sandy beach and trails. No sites can be reserved but they can be "saved" with a boat trailer or vehicle parked on them. Park attendants were helpful in finding a site. We camped at Mabel Lake Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very crowded even though it was raining: lots of Albertans. Very little park enforcement. Loud trucks squawking tires. Fireworks after quiet hour. Park is 20+ miles from turnoff, but staff do not maintain the "campground full" sign. We ventured in despite the fact the sign showed no vacancy. We got the last open space available, but found that there were actually camp spaces empty that had nothing in them but speed boats. Even though there was ample parking close to the lake. They charges $5.00/ bundle of fire wood that is green, that even the heartiest of outdoors men could never get to burn. Must be to keep the mosquitos away. This camp ground has excellent potential, has an excellent house boat store on the lake and is absolutely beautiful. Just requires some management and care. Would avoid until this is remedied. We camped at Mabel Lake Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived on August 3rd for the BC Day Long Weekend. The sites were full, and they opened the over-flow parking lot (grass covered) for camping. The Park Host (contractors) were very nice and friendly, and maintained control over any park rule violators. We could not have a campfire because of the space we were camped in, but others did have fires, and I heard no bad comments about the wood. The last mile of road to the campground is gravel, and travelled by heavy log trucks. There is one narrow spot on the gravel, and if you see a logging truck coming, please give way and let them go through. The floating store is NOT part of the Provincial Campground. I arrived at 8 PM to get some ice for the cooler for the night, and he had already closed up for the night 10 minutes early. I asked him if I could get 2 blocks of ice for the food cooler, and the answer I got from him was "No. After being open for 14 hours I am closed!" This all being said while holding a can of beer in one hand. The last time I calculated 8 AM to 8 PM was 12 hours. We camped at Mabel Lake Provincial Park in a Tent Trailer.
