Gorgeous lodge on the lake. RV park gravel and dirt which turned to packed mud after rain. We left two days early because the nominal 30A power is not stable. Our money was graciously refunded. Stay here if you are not all-electric. By-pass if you are. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Motorhome.

Pull through, gravel site with beautiful view of lake. Needed two, 1 inch boards to level side to side and had to raise the ball of my connected truck two inches to level the trailer from to back. Nice picnic table. No AT&T. Free 100 megabytes of WI-FI was provided. This park has one of the most beautiful views of scenery I had ever had. The woman at the desk was a disgrace. She was slow and acted like she was doing everybody in line a favor by being there. For the price, I would stay at another park in the area if passing through again. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

We liked being here a lot. Yes, there were some compromises. If you have one of the lakeview/lakeshore sites - it is heavenly. The other sites are just parking, but you can go down to the lake and sit and enjoy the views. The lake and background mountains are "to die for" in beauty. Wifi was adequate in campsite and in the lodge area, it was "good." Dinner in the lodge was both romantic and excellent for food and service. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

Some of the sites at this park are beautiful and some are gravel parking spots next to the maintenance building. We got a back in spot right on Muncho Lake and we drove in forward so we had a great view of the lake, we had to add to our connectors in order to reach the hook ups. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Motorhome.

The on site restaurant was great! Our waiter made the dinner extra special. We were able to pay corkage and bring in our own wine. The owners are German so the menu included schnitzel and other German dishes.

Gourmet restaurant. Seriously good food, but pricey. Showers are old and unattractive. They need to gut and remodel them. RV park is located lakeside with fabulous views. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

The Northern Rockies Lodge is a true lodge and is most beautiful, and Muncho Lake is very picturesque. There are 4 deluxe EW lakeshore sites (#1-4, $58) that are secluded and very nice. Sites 5 to 9 are full service pull-through sites (# 9 & 6, appear the widest, $55) that offer more privacy that the standard lakeshore sites (#16-21, $50) or the standard sites ($42) both of which are packed in like sardines. The standard and back-in lakeshore sites are the closest to the generator that operates 24 hrs a day. After paying $58 for a campsite and then being required to feed $1 coins into a machine to have a hot shower speaks volumes about this RV Park's priorities. There is a WiFi hotspot in the Lodge which is reliable and fast and can reach the deluxe lakeshore sites. Usage is limited to 100Mb per day, per device. Laundry is $3 each for wash & dry. The restaurant has a limited menu and prices are ridiculously high. There is no TV reception but there is satellite radio reception, and there is no cell phone service, though there is a pay phone on the premises. There is a playground, a boat launch, and a wharf. Gas and diesel are available at the Lodge (D=$1.64/L). But, the Lodge offers a $0.20 per litre discount on fuel for registered RV guests, bringing the price down to $1.42/L which is good, if you are heading north, but you are better to fill up at Toad River (D=$1.32/L) if heading south. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.

This was by far the most expensive campground that we stayed in crossing Canada to Alaska. Being near the lake was nice but not worth the expense. Even charging a higher price, you had to pay for the showers. We were lucky to get the best pull thru site. It was the roomiest with a nice picnic table and barbecue pit. The pull thrus on both sides of us were packed like sardines, four on the right side and two on the left. The full hook ups were nice, good water pressure. Watching the sea plane take off was fun. It was just way too expensive. They offer a .04 cent per liter discount on fuel, and even with the discount, it was the highest we paid in Canada. We wouldn't stay here again because of the prices. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

Many of the sites are surrounding a large shed in a muddy parking lot. Ours was one of those. We had water and electric in a back in site with no place to put our toad. Site was so narrow it would have had slides touching if anyone had been parked by us. Front desk staff only interested in selling tours or a more expensive site; don't even give you a campground map to find your site. Dump can only be used if you block in other folks from their site. Would not stay here again. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Motorhome.

I also was very disappointed with this park, if it can be called that. Very nice scenery overlooking the lake. We had a back in regular site that was very tight. We parked next to a telephone service truck who was only 3-4 feet away and people on the other side were the same distance from us. Fortunately they did not have a slide on that side of their rig. The park also had a generator running all night not far from our site. This was a lot like staying at a truck stop with a truck running next door.

Worst of all was the wifi. Worst set up we've run into in Canada yet and we've been in Canada almost a month plus 4 months last summer. 50MB of free service, then you start paying. I did not need to worry about the 50MB because the service was down most of the time and when it was working I got some sort of a virus which has totally messed up my computer. I would not stay here ever again. Be careful if you use the wifi. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Motorhome.

Despite some negative reviews, we were looking forward to our one night stay and having a nice dinner. Great setting, and we appreciate the large lodge which has been built. However, the emphasis in on fishing trips, not the users of the RV Park. Everything was so overpriced: the site, the gas, the dinner. Site was in the trees, but right on top of the one to the side. Laundry and restrooms existed and were clean enough, but seemed run down.I'd avoid this place. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Motorhome.

We were very disappointed with this campground. On first arrival, we found the setting magnificent, and we choose a site right on the water' s edge, with stunning views of the lake. However we soon discovered the staff was far more interested in accommodating the guests staying in the lodge than those in the campground. We ate dinner in the lodge one night and while the food was good, albeit expensive, the service was very poor. The "free Wifi" lasted all of 15 minutes, and even after buying more time, it still wouldn't let me log on most of the time. The staff at the desk offered no help at all. The laundry room consisted of one washer and one dryer in the basement for the entire complex. The store was essentially useless, not even selling milk. Considering the price we paid, we were hoping for a far more pleasant experience. We would not stay here again. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

This location was recommended by a fellow camper and it met all expectations! Resort is located on the lake and all the RV sites have a view of the lake and mountains. Accessing the campground area can be a little tricky with limited space. Site was excellent once we understood the route, work-camper helped us find the way. The lake is a beautiful aqua-green color. Only stayed 1 night but would highly recommend this resort. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Motorhome.

Nice owner, nicely laid out RV park. In need of some additional cleanup of old run down buildings. This campground is a rearranged old Alaska Highway lodge campground. Overpriced for what you get by about $10-$15, but in line with other Muncho Lake private parks. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Motorhome.

For $55 a night, one gets 20 amp electric and water only, and not on the lake. Oh, I forgot you also get their generator that runs all day and night. Of course, this was not mentioned when I made the reservation. We picked this place (knowing the price, but not about the generator) because of the Muncho Lake setting, and it is magnificent. However, the constant loud noise from their generator destroys any sense of peace and tranquility this setting would instill. And make sure you have plenty of fuel or you will pay $1.89 a liter! To be fair, they knock off 20 cents if you stay there - big deal - the next station up the road is still 25 cents less than that. These people are obviously out to make as much money as they can off people or take unfair advantage of people who may be stuck in the middle of nowhere. We would have stayed just up the road if they had been up front about that generator. And the Milepost and website pictures are deceiving. The lodge itself and cabins look very nice, but the RV sites are something else. The back-ins require you to back down a road to your site - also not mentioned or to be seen in the web photos. OK for a bus, more difficult for a 5er - not to mention they are more expensive because they are right on the lake. There are other RV Parks in the area - don't make our mistake. We camped at Northern Rockies Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.
