Did not stay at this CG. They only had one site available. 20 amp electrical only pull through. Went to site mostly dirt. Tested power supply, showed neutral and ground reversed. Went back to office and they said the maintenance man had reported that the electrical had been repaired. I explained what a dangerous situation this was and they said they would not put anyone in that site until repaired. They sent me up the road about 20 miles to Sikanni River RV that had available sites. We camped at Pink Mountain Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

First off, if you're overly picky about facilities along the Alaskan highway, perhaps this trip is not for you. Welcome to the wilderness -- stop expecting fancy resorts. Pink Mountain Campsite is pretty well-appointed for a stop off far from large populated centers. Friendly and very helpful staff, excellent WiFi, camp store with a good selection of items, a post office, gas and diesel, propane, and across the highway is a hotel with a restaurant and bar. The campground is rather messy-looking right now, as it is clearing an area for more pull-through sites, and a fair number of seasonal workers' abodes are on-site. If you have a big rig, plan on arriving early, because the big rig sites fill up very fast -- hence the construction project to build more pull-throughs. We would happily stay here again. We camped at Pink Mountain Campsite in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Buffalo Inn, across the highway, claims to have RV sites (we never saw them). A big sign says RVs must register at the Inn. Ignore it and pull into the Race Trac station on the west side of the highway, go inside the PinkMtnCamp building and register for this campground.

From Fort Nelson to Fort St John, very few options. Park was ok to pull, plug and dump. That's about it. After 3 trips on the Alcan, still trying to jet by this un scenic countryside without driving 500 miles. Reduced price was due to no water or sewer in early May. Things are still frozen north of Fort St John in early May. Gas station in Whitehorse and city dump and fill station in Fort Nelson only things open that early. We camped at Pink Mountain Campsite in a Motorhome.

Campsites are on side of campground road. Pullouts are on the road. New remodeled laundry/shower facilities. Friendly staff. Stayed 1 night. Value over boondock or provincial park is the laundry, however pricey. $5CD wash. $3CD dry, $5CD shower. We camped at Pink Mountain Campsite in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived on a storm ridden night. The roads were muddy. Our campsite was located on the road...more like parallel parking. Electricity only. Faucet for drinkable water is available at dump station. We had a problem with Wi-Fi, so my husband walked down to the store/office and the staff was courteous and helped solve the problem. Really can't say anything nice about the camping area, except we were glad to have a place to park for the night. We camped at Pink Mountain Campsite in a Motorhome.

Price was $24 in Canadian funds for 15amp (??) electric. This is a place to stay away from!! We had planned on staying at a different campground (Sasquatch Crossing), but were turned away as we were told that the campground services had not been “turned on” yet. This place is the pits! This “park” (and I use the term extremely loosely) houses mostly construction workers, along with a number of dilapidated old mobile homes. Our electrical service was barely adequate to microwave our TV dinners…only 106 volts! At 6:16 AM, the power went off until an emergency generator could be put into service. Fairly clean pay showers, cost 1 “Looney” or more. Water quality was not very good. A sign in the laundry cautioned not to wash whites with hot water due to the minerals in the water. The Wi-Fi advertised is nonexistent. When we checked in, we were told it hasn’t worked in the past month. We would not stay here again unless it was an emergency! We camped at Pink Mountain Campsite in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The absolute WORST place we stayed the whole 30 days we were on the road! Pull through sites were more than tight, muddy and the water we had hooked up to had an AWFUL smell. The water also stained our towels and toilet with what my husband says is iron, but it smelled like a sewer smell. Needless to say we unhooked our water line but were still left with the stains on our toilet (YUCK). After check in (people were very nice) we drove to our "pull through" just to be greeted by a plywood building that has a sign that reads, "All meat left in here must be skinned and quartered!!" Dear Lord!! The place is a bit scary. The only thing that kept me from leaving was the nice people camping beside us. All in all next trip, we will plan to drive much further and not stop here. We camped at Pink Mountain Campsite in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here after driving through a horrible snow and wind storm. They weren't officially open but cheerfully provided us with a site. They only had 15 AMP power but we were totally happy. We even ran out of propane that freezing night. Fortunately they had propane service. We were so happy to have landed safely that we stayed 2 nights. The people we met there were great and very accommodating. We camped at Pink Mountain Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

Actually the availability of Pink Mountain Campground was a Godsend. We got caught in a late season snowstorm and were desperate. Lois and Bill were very supportive and made our 2 day stay perfect. The power was a bare minimum and the mud was a challenge, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and recommend it (with caveats) to friends. Written up in the Milepost as "one of the nicest campgrounds of the Alaskan Highway". Not! We payed $18 for a 15 amp electric hookup. Had to tie the electric plug into the outlet to keep from having it fall out. Our space was a mud bog. They put two other rigs in our area and they had the same problems. Private residents close by had people walking through our campsite all night. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. We camped at Pink Mountain Campsite in a Motorhome.
