Overall Rating:

Small provincial park with both reservable and walk-up sites. The nightly cost is $20 CDN plus $6 CDN for each day reserved up to a max of $18 CDN. No electricity and only a hand operated water pump. No sani-station. The official website states the campsites are for small and medium size campers, but there are several sites that will accommodate very large RVs and trailers. The only concern is a narrow road in the campground with some overhanging branches, but we had no problem with our 35 ft fifth wheel except there was little room on the road for backing into our #24 site. Other sites would not have that problem. There was a good amount of highway noise from our site. Some sites back up to beautiful views of the lake. The CG is about 15 minutes from Port Edward and Prince Rupert and people use it to stage for the ferries. We camped at Prudomme Lake Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The North Pacific Cannery in Port Edward is a wonderful living museum with guided tours to explain the salmon cannery industry and its development in British Columbia. The nearby Diana Lake Provincial Park for day use offers a secluded picnic area on the lake if you don't mind a dirt road with potholes. And, of course, Prince Rupert has the attractions of a port city with an interesting history.
