Beautiful park. Loads of privacy in well sheltered camp sites. Gorgeous paths to walk (both paved and unpaved.) Wood is available if needed, but is a bit of a premium to buy. Campsites are a bit off the lake but not too far away. The beach is gorgeous. The lake is fairly large, so be prepared to share with boaters of all shapes and sizes. The mosquitoes were out in full force as it had rained but otherwise the bugs were tolerable. Lots of squirrels and birds nearby that are looking for some free pickings from friendly campers. We camped at Purden Lake Provincial Park in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice little resort up the road a bit. Was a great place to go warm up when the rain hit and the chill took over. Best pie for miles around!

Pristine, quiet, many level camp sites. Spacious sites in lovely forest. Beach walk, a bit cool for swimming or kayaking, but Purden Lake was so beautiful. Right off hiway 16. We camped at Purden Lake Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Our kids love this campground! The mosquitoes, horseflies, bees can be quite bothersome here. Have a screen tent! Our kids are 13 & 9. The beach is great, lake is clear (but can be cold), and there is a pet beach as well. Clean campsites, outhouses are clean - no shower houses here. Sites are fairly private, large trees between each. In July and August, if you can get there by Thursday early afternoon, don't reserve, take a site between 1 and 38 (the right side of the campground). Sites 39 to 78 are all reservable and furthest from the swimming beach but closest to the boat launch. Reservable sites 50 to 61 are off quite the incline, so if you have lots of experience backing up a hill into a level campsite, you'll be fine. We are not these people! We love sites 17, 19, and 21. Don't bother trying to find a site if you go out Friday afternoon on a hot weekend, they fill up by Thursday night! Our RV is 26' long. We camped at Purden Lake Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice provincial park. As others have stated it has paved roads, some flush toilets, nice beach and several walking trails. The sites are private and the park appears to be a mostly family park. The lake is used for everything form water skiing to fishing so be prepared to share. The cabins on the other side of the lake seem to keep to themselves or only use the middle of the lake for their water sports. The only confusing part appeared to be the reserved/available system used for reservable sites. This leads to a lot of stress when the park is nearly full and sites appear to be available. Hopefully this gets sorted out. We would stay here again and would NOT reserve a site. We camped at Purden Lake Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very beautiful place to camp. The sites are a fair size and are private. They have a wonderful play area for the kids, a nice boat launch, and a great beach as well. We would stay here again for sure. We camped at Purden Lake Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is 40 miles east of Prince George on Hwy 16. It is 2 miles off the main highway so it's quiet from highway noise. This is a water-activity park on a beautiful large lake. There is a boat launch, swim beach, large day use area, some hiking. The campground is comprised of two loops. Most sites were suitable for our 40' motorhome and car. The roads are paved and sites are gravel with tables and firepits. There is a dump station. What was really wierd was walking through a heavily forested area to the typical-looking "out houses". When you opened the door, the toilets are flush!! We camped at Purden Lake Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Great dry camping spot 40 minutes east of Prince George. Flush outhouses present. Nice wooded spots. Firewood costs $5.00 per bundle. Easy access (walk or drive) to great beach and boat launch. Good clean lake for swimming or boating or fishing. Playground for kids. We camped at Purden Lake Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.
