We were here with a caravan. In 5 years of RVing this was a weird experience. Physically the park was clean and the grounds/buildings had been well taken care of. So what was it? It turns out the Park had just been sold and had a new owner who seems to have a bias against big rig owners. When the caravan leaders first showed up she accused the caravan of plugging up the sewer system. Except, no units were there yet! The Internet stopped working and when I asked about it she very arrogantly said "you sucked me dry"! Now it was not a good Internet system and didn't work well in the first place. She closed the showers and bath facilities, denying access to our group while telling others in the park they were only closed to us and then giving them a ride in her cart to them. The owner had taken down the "Good Sam" signs and flags and put them in the garbage because of people in motorhomes asking for a 10% discount. On the last morning, when the group met in the covered pavilion for coffee/goodies/goodbyes the electricity to it had been turned off. An electrical cord had to be run from a rig site to the pavilion to power the coffee pots and warmers. In fairness, this park, like most others way up north need improvements to their utilities etc., they just weren't built for today's rigs. The issue here is attitude. Perhaps it will change, but we'll never return to find out. We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here with the Winnebago Alaska Caravan on August 30, 2014. The woman who now owns this park apparently has some kind of issues. She was belligerent to all the participants of the Caravan and the Hosts and Tail-Enders who were running the caravan. She put an out of order sign on the showers and restrooms. But, other campers in the park clearly were using them. She informed us, that if we used too much electricity and kicked the breakers, she would not turn them back on. We had just finished a 48 day caravan through Alaska and accomplished it quite easily with limited electricity: so we were used to limited power. Rudeness was the order of the day, as far as her treatment of the owners of the 22 motorhomes that used her park for two days. I would certainly advise Winnebago and the other Caravans that travel to Alaska, BC and the Yukon to steer clear of this park . Also, from the past review, it is advisable for all RVs and campers to look elsewhere for lodging. We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Motorhome.

We just had the most bizarre experience with this campground. Two of us traveling together in big rigs made reservations over 2 weeks ago for a one night stay on the way through Prince George. When we arrived the office was locked and we went looking for attendant. The woman came strolling over and asked if we had reservations and we said yes. She asked if I gave her my credit card - I could not remember specifically since we've made so many reservations in the last 2 months they all run together. But I did say the if she asked for it then I gave it to her. So she said if we had not given the CC# when we made the reservation then we did not have a confirmed reservation and she was full for the night. She didn't even go in the office to check if we had given CC# over the phone or not. When we insisted we had reservations she got belligerent and the conversation went downhill fast with her telling us just to get lost. So we did. Bizarre indeed. Other than our observation that the sites were very tight and the gravel roads through the park were very tight I have nothing else to report since we did not stay there. I also don't know the rate since we didn't pay which is why I put in $1. We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was a nice clean park under new management the day before we arrived. The new owners were new to RV Park business and things were a little confused but they seemed to have good business acumen and were interested in making improvements. Power was a problem probably due to the age of the park. Fortunately we did not need our a/c so we managed alright. We would stay here again as it was convenient to town! We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park for two nights at the end of our Alaska caravan. The park is under new management since August 1st and seemed a little confused. We had a full hookup site with 30 amp power. With all appliances such as fridge, water heater, etc. turned off, we were hard pressed to make coffee. AC was definitely out of the question. The temperature was 30+ deg C. This park is an old park not set up to handle larger RVs with higher electricity demands. The management told us "this is a remote northern park and the amenities are not the same as we are used to down south". Prince George is a bustling city of 80K population. Not really remote. Will try a different park next time through PG. We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Motorhome.

We spent two nights here, not much to do this time of year. The few things available were closed on Mondays. Our only full day in PG. Only electric available this time of year, but the restroom was very clean and showers were free, unlike other parks that charge, and lots of hot water in shower. Only really bad thing is that there is very poor drainage of the water from the melting snow at this time of year which created s real problem when we were leaving. The road for exiting the camp loops was a quagmire and our truck sunk up to the axles and we had to contact our emergency road service to be towed out. The owner was nice enough to refund us our camping fee for both nights because of this problem. We have stayed at this park in 2009 and would stay again. We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was a good park, but not great. The guy that checked us in seemed a little confused. He didn't know what sites were available, and sent me to go look. I picked a site and returned while the wife filled out the paperwork. This is one of the parks that the Alaska Caravan tours stop at, and he seemed kind of put out by that. I don't think he likes working too hard. The sites are pull through and the property slopes downhill away from the office. There is Wi-Fi, but I guess it's better if you get closer to the office. I used a Telus air card that worked well. There are good shade trees and decent space between the sites. The restrooms are older but in good shape, and the laundry in new but pricey. Both are definitely not handicap accessible. The restrooms are down a set of 6 concrete steps, and the laundry is up a set of 9 wooden steps. I would stay here again. Found the sites narrow, even though they were pull through. Close to one another. Supposed dog run area was a roughed in trail into the woods which was not good to let dog off leash. Operator seemed a little strange. Don't think we would stay here again. We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Not a bad RV park neat clean with gravel roads. Sites are not level front to back or side to side. The park has a lot of rules that are over enforced by the owner. It is a good overnight stop. It is quite with very little road noise at this time there is a great deal of road construction on the main road to the park. The roads inside the park are tight if you are over 37 feet. The sites are well spaced and most appear level. We were able to get in with our 40 foot motorhome. I would have rated this park a 10 if the trees along the interior road had been trimmed back. The wi-fi was excellent and included in the price we paid, $28.56 Canadian for a full hook up pull through. We were also able to receive Directv with our roof mounted dome. The owners were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for two nights in our 33 foot 5th wheel and plan on returning in Sept. for a night. The sites were level and easy to get in and out of. We had cable TV but there were only about 5 stations. The Wi-Fi is not free - $4.95 for 24 hours and this is paid by credit card when you go online. The owner is very friendly and goes out of his way to make you welcome and answer your questions. The lawns, roads, and over-all appearance of the park did not appear as good as what we'd remember from our previous stays in 1998 and 2001 but we would not hesitate to recommend this park to others. We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great park. The owners are friendly and helpful and the sites are reasonably large and well-spaced. The only downside is the lack of cable TV but that's clearly a choice. We were able to get our satellite internet access from our site but not all sites would be able to get a clear enough view of the sky. But the water pressure was good, the power was good and at the time of year we were there it was not crowded. I think the pull throughs are back-to-back sites, though, so I'm not sure they would be available if the park were crowded. As it was, they were well able to accommodate our 36' fifth wheel and long truck without any problems. We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The couple running this park do a good job checking you in and making sure you have information about the surrounding area. Sites are level, pull through, and long enough not to need to unhook a tow car. There's a tree or two dividing each space and some plantings at each site. The area is reasonably well maintained. Suppose the constant rain we experienced made this place seem dismal and crowded to us, else we might give a higher rating. We camped at Southpark RV Park in a Motorhome.
