We were fortunate to have a site with a view of the lake. The pull thru we were in was plenty long and pretty wide also. Some of the sites in the woods shared a pedistal and the slides almost touched.. The water pressure went from fair to none so you better have water in your tank. I thought it was a temporary problem but see that it was mentioned years ago. The sites and roads are all rock about 1" in diameter. It was very quiet without any road noise or trains. We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The park is located on the south side of Quesnel. There is a Walmart Supercentre nearby as well as a couple of antique/flea market stores on 97 near where you turn onto Gook Road. Canadian Tire is on the way to town. There is a casino in town that has about 200 slot machines. Also several thrift stores in town.

We were in site 31, one of a few sites with a view of the lake. Those sites are very close, with fences separating the sites, and bushes that kind of just get in the way for our big rig. Sites further from the lake were much bigger. The lady in the office was really nice. WiFi and cable worked well. We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a good place to stay and drive the car to Barkerville, a wonderful living-history gold mining town about an hour away. This campground is crowded and densely-packed, and the barking dogs of the long-term residents next to us were rather bothersome. Gravel roads were passable. Our gravel site was level, but barely large enough for our 38' MH and car. Water, sewer, and 30-amp electricity hookups were convenient. WiFi was somewhat reliable and provided moderate thruput. We did not use the bathrooms or laundry. The price was right, though, and we thought it a pretty good value for what we paid. We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park appears to be a major fishing destination, and is on Dragon Lake, a large, shallow lake. When we over-nighted here in May, almost every site had a fishing boat pulled up on the lake bank. If you're not part of the fishing crowd you may feel left out here. Manager was friendly and site facilities were well-kept. There's a variety of site types including dry and tent camping along with FHU back-in and pull-throughs. Our site 14 was plenty large, fairly level. Wifi worked OK. We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of the nicest campgrounds we've been to in Canada. With sites right on the lake, the view was great. The gravel roads and sites must have been redone recently as they looked brand new. Our site was wide, level and open in front. Some of the others were a little closer together. The campground has a lot of flower beds. mature landscaping, green lawn, a raised lounging area with chairs, and a water feature for kids. The boat dock and launch ramp make it the perfect place for fishermen. Wifi was strong. Our Dish satellite worked fine. The one thing we really liked is that it is a gated park so you need a code to get in after hours. This place is very well maintained. There is also a Bistro on-site that is open in the evenings. The owner lives on-site which is nice. It's also very quiet. Only one complaint, the cable TV didn't work well so my husband couldn't watch football. We'll definitely be back, and for more than 2 nights next time. We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The 9 rating was based on our particular campsite. Some of the others were a lot closer together, and in that case I would only have rated it an 8. Very close to shopping and restaurants.

$37 Canadian for full hookups. We travel with kayaks so we chose this RV Park for the lake and we were glad we did. The lake was quiet and calm. I would, however, be a bit concerned about swimming due to the large number of geese that call the park home and leave their calling cards everywhere. If it wasn't for the droppings, I would have given this park 5 stars for cleanliness. We had site 17 which was full service but ours was a back in and the next site was a front in. This format results in less privacy. Fortunately, our neighbors were wonderful. Other sections of the park were laid out differently though. The overflow area was a large grassy area that would be fine for a couple of days providing you don't need hookups.

The park is located very close to all amenities which was a fifteen minute bicycle ride away. Checking in was a breeze and the staff was very helpful. They did present us with a ton of rules, which, is fine with us. The WiFi was very good. We would definitely stay here again but in a site closer to the lake. We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is located on Dragon Fly Lake near Quesnel B.C. about 2 k off hwy 97. We were dry camping the price was quite steep for no services...internet was sporadic and showers are coin operated...spectacular lakeside location made up for the lack of complete hook ups. Make reservations for hook up sites....no sewer but sani dump offered.....controlled access gate via code worked well. i would stay here again. We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Truck Camper.

The posted rate is for a W/E site including the Good Sam discount. There was a picnic table but no firepit. If you want a campfire you need to bring your own (needs to be an elevated one). However, fire bans are common during summer anyway. Site was level and shaded by trees which was nice. WiFi was very strong and fast. Now, why do we rate it so low then?

Well, we experienced it to be a very busy vacation camp. Pretty noisy from other campers activities well into the quiet hours. No privacy between sites (we could almost shake hands with the neighbors from our picnic table to theirs) and water pressure was so pathetic that pretty much everyone was using his water pump instead of the water hookup. This might be a nice place to stay outside the summer holidays but we will find a different place to stay when coming to Quesnel again. We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Sites are lakeside - lots of grass. Owner is very talkative but informative and nice. Very serene and quiet. We stayed in the FHU pull thru near the lake with little or no shade. The sites are fairly narrow buth there is a privacy fence between sites. The back-in sites have large trees for shade which would be great for hot sunny days. The back-in sites are also larger and secluded. 30amp breaker tripped with only one AC unit on. Not sure what happened - could be bad breaker. During thunderstorm entire park lost power. We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

keithevans, owner at Robert's Roost RV Park responded to this review

Thank you for your review. We would recommend that on a future drop in visit if the weather is hot and you seek more shade and space, that you request one of the more secluded/ shaded sites that you mentioned. Breakers get a large amount of abuse from overloading (we always suggest that a unit designed to run on 50 amp does not hook up to 30 amp). Also storms and the utilities they may affect are completely out of our control. It is unfortunate that you were here for a short blackout, but hey, that is nature! We try our best to please everyone and once again thanks for your opinion.

We stayed 6 nights and owner offered us the weekly rate without being asked. Very helpful and friendly. Nice sights right on Dragon Lake which is a popular trout fishing lake. Vey busy park but still quiet and clean. Nice sights looking out at the lake for our fifth with 3 slides. Large off leash area for pets. Will stay again. We were given site #41 close to Dragon Lake. Beautiful view of lake, but all gravel base - picnic table, but no grass or trees this close to lake. DW uses power wheelchair. Park definitely not wheelchair friendly - gravel too large - scooters (with larger tires) would probably be okay. No ramps to washroom complex.

Would stay here again but would opt for treed site - gravel pad, picnic table, grass, and trees. Also closer to washrooms/showers. We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We've stayed in literally dozens of campgrounds and RV resorts across Canada and the US. If I had to choose the nicest resort we've ever been to, this one would be it - without question. We booked slightly ahead of the Labour Day weekend and expected to take what we could get, based on the short notice. We were VERY pleasantly surprised to find ourselves assigned to the largest RV site we've ever been in! We could have put our 40' motorhome, tow vehicle, and ANOTHER 40' motorhome into that single site! Besides being wide and spacious, we were an end site - so the grassy area with picnic table that was also part of our site was like having our own personal park! Walking paths, Dragon Lake just metres from our doorstep, and a secure gated beautifully kept resort. I could have moved in for the rest of my life. Cable (which we didn't use - we have a satellite dish), speedy Internet (which we did use), laundry, restrooms, water, sewer, 30 amp power. Friendly helpful staff. The lovely town of Quesnel about 5 - 10 minutes away. Groceries and a Walmart almost on the doorstep for convenience. And Barkerville (our primary objective) about an hour's drive away. This is the nicest RV resort (it's much too nice to call it a campground!) we've ever stayed in. I would highly recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - and again and again and again! LOVED it! We camped at Robert's Roost RV Park in a Motorhome.
