We came from the U.S. on the ferry from Anacortes, WA and the ferry landing was a great location to get to this RV park. It took us less than 15 minutes once we were through Customs. This is the quietest park I have ever stayed at. Absolutely no traffic noise except what goes in and out of the park. The roads are paved and our site was level and gravel with some low lying weeds. If they invested in some Round Up and new gravel, it would be perfect. That said, it really was a perfect place to stay. The sites were wide and roomy from your neighbor. There is a beach trail that goes to a rustic beach, which is a nice walk. The office staff was very helpful and pleasant and it was easy to get in and out of the park with a big rig. They have ample parking at the office for big rigs, which was appreciated. The wifi was okay but not great. I was able to connect on my phone but never on my laptop. When the park was full it was difficult to get on and stay on, but better when the park was less full. Best times were the morning. No problem with 50 amp service, water or sewer. We did not get cable but were able to use Dish Network satellite. Hwy 17 is close enough for convenience but far enough so there is no noise. It goes north to Sidney easily and south with a longer drive to Victoria. There are seasonal people here but their sites are well maintained and even enhanced with patios etc. We stayed a week and loved it. We'd definitely come back. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Motorhome.
We loved the more rural area here and all the local farm stands. There's a dog park on Lochside Dr going north to Sidney. On the west side, it's completely enclosed. On the east it is not. Sidney street market on Thursday night is a must go to. GREAT location for visiting Victoria area and attractions. Take the ferry from Anacortes, WA if coming from the states, as it's close to this RV park and a very easy drive.

Not a lot of options for RV parks in this area, but having said that, this is the best one around. The sites are well spaced and have some shrubs between them for a bit of privacy. I did find the location of the power and sewer hookups a little inconvenient for our motorhome, as the sewer was toward the back of the site and the power was near the center ( this was a pull through ). Everything was well kept and clean, roads were paved, but the sites were gravel and pretty much level. Lots to do here with Sidney and Central Saanich near by....bring your bikes, as you are minutes from the Lochside trail which will take you to Sidney or Victoria. Would have rated this park a bit higher except for the poor condition of the roads and neighborhood you have to go through to get here. Some of the sites toward the bottom of the hill (11 - 15) have a water view. I would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We're catching Sidney ->Anacortes tomorrow so this was a good choice to overnight. Super efficient in the office, very helpful. Site is nice and large with decorative plantings between sites. Peekaboo view of ocean from our site.
I couldn't find the cable outlet so went to office. A person came by 1/2 hr later and showed me where they'd put it - inside a waterproof duplex plug outlet - duh, why would I look there??!! He said that that and the breakers right up under the top of power "tower" caused him the most call outs. Park is looking at labels to tell people where things are - good idea!
Showers and bathroom in general were spotless! 1 loonie for 5 minutes!
Communal fire ring just outside washroom complex with benches around look like a nice place to sit on a summer evening. We didn't use it. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
Sidney is a nice artsy-fartsy community.

We originally planned to stay at this campground for 3 nights, but a medical issue extended our stay to 10 nights. The rate shown is the single night rate and is in U.S. dollars, as requested. We found the park to be excellent in all respects. Our level pull-through site had foliage on both sides for some privacy from adjacent campers. Seasonal users, which were a large majority of the park, were in a separate section from transient users. All camping units, including seasonal ones, were in excellent condition and very well maintained. Campground maintenance was excellent. There was little shade on sites, but the cooler weather of fall meant rigs did not get hot. Wi-fi, even with an external wi-fi adapter, was marginal. Victoria was about 12 miles away and the Sidney-Anacortes ferry was conveniently close. We would definitely stay here, were we to visit Vancouver Island again. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Butchart Gardens is nearby and well worth a half day visit. The flowers and other vegetation are outstanding. Victoria is a vibrant city only minutes from the campground and the busy inner harbor is fascinating with large ferries, water taxis, and float planes arriving and leaving.

The price likely reflects proximity to Victoria, otherwise it would be over priced. However, one is still a bit out of town and Victoria is not a place to drive about in a motorhome. Therefore, you need another vehicle for tourism. That said, it is a great location for catching the ferry to Anacortes from Sidney or for a first night coming from the U.S. on the Anacortes ferry, if you are continuing further north on Vancouver Island. The park is on Indian land and one drives through it about 3/4 mile to get there. We had no problems with the locals, as were mentioned previously by other reviewers. The park staff was friendly and efficient. Maintenance personnel were much in evidence and the park was pretty well maintained. In this light, it is as good as any local RV park and much better than most. Sites were reasonably spaced and separated by shrubbery. The one complaint I had was that the gravel used was of a poor quality and included a large percentage of ground, grey dust. Overall, the park was well laid out and included a decent playground near the non-seasonal sites. Seasonal sites were in a separate area but appeared well maintained. Other reviewers have praised the view, but I found it not at all special. Beach access was inconvenient and in general one should come here for proximity to local attractions. WiFi was good, when it worked. We kept being kicked off and it became very irritating. All in all, we will stay there again when taking the ferry or when vacationing in the Sidney area. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lovely campground. Staff was friendly and welcoming, park was well-maintained, and the sites were clean and spacious. Wi-Fi was a bit erratic at times, but adequate. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park with well cared for grounds. If you are looking for a 'Resort' which has lots of facilities this is not the park. I think most people, however, are happy to stay here for the price as it is the only park with services fit to stay in before Victoria. We would stay again waiting for the ferry. Rate is for shoulder season. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park. The permanents are in a separate section. The sites are level and most have a partial view to the water. The only criticism I can offer is that the Wi-Fi is very spotty and not dependable. You have to go near the office to get good Wi-Fi. This RV park is close to Victoria so it is easy to sightsee and tour the area. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 1 month while visiting family. Campsites are large, level, and very well maintained. Had a nice view of the water and the beach was wonderful. Washrooms and showers were spotless, and staff was great. Full timers are in another section with no derelict units. WiFi and TV worked fine. Like previous reports said, look the other way on the way in. We would stay here again; it is the best park by far on southern Vancouver Island. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Motorhome.

As far as parks go this is a very well kept park. On the plus side, the sites are a good size full gravel and the roads are paved and wide. The shrubbery and flower beds are trimmed and weed free. The park maintenance crews work very hard to keep everything just so. All the staff, office and grounds are polite and helpful. All the buildings are in very good condition and the washrooms are spotless. On the negative side, There is no security in the park, no front gate and no security perimeter fence. The park is located on aboriginal land and the park's neighbors walk, drive, bicycle and skateboard through the park day or night. Our coach was damaged on several occasions by children throwing and batting stones from a neighboring property and road. The dog run is a very narrow strip of dead grass that runs from the road side to a drainage ditch about 2-3 ft. wide and 100 ft. long, no doggy do garbage pail. As in all parks some do not clean up the dog do. This is by far one of the nicest parks on the island. Security is the #1 pressing issue. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Good location. As other reviews mention, don't be put off by what you see driving up to the park. Has lots of long term residents but well maintained and in their own section. Actually probably only 30-40 short term sites. Beautifully landscaped. Good cable TV and ok Wi-Fi (dropped off line at times). Good views of the water. Very convenient when coming off the BC ferries and also very convenient to Victoria and all of south Vancouver Island. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Very clean and well laid out, nice landscaping. Some long term residents, but everything was quite tasteful. This is a pretty good park, convenient to the ferries. The price was with a Good Sam discount, so the basic price is a bit high, preventing a ten rating. Almost all sites are good for a satellite connection. We would definitely stay here again. This is a very nice RV park. Internal roadways are paved, sites are level gravel and quite roomy. The multiple restrooms are modern and spotless. Wi-Fi worked for my laptop at our site with no problem, but my wife needed to take hers to a hot spot. The beach is distant and on a bay, but access may be muddy if it's rained recently. The location is convenient to the ferries and Victoria. This is an expensive park, but this is Vancouver Island which is not known as the bargain capital of Canada. (Getting your rig out here on the ferry will cost upwards of $150.) We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The office staff kindly moved us away from the noisy neighbour in the private house next to the campground. Staff were friendly and helpful. This is a very quiet park, surrounded by wetlands and ocean. We camped at Oceanside RV Resort in a Motorhome.
