A bare bones campground in a beautiful setting. Right off the highway with some sites right on the lake. Sites are gravel and mostly set apart. No shrubs or other cover between the sites. No shade at all, but it is quite cool and windy up here, so you appreciate all the sun you get. Only a hand water pump in the campground, some pit toilets, that's it. Very nice hiking trails of different lengths and difficulty levels right from here. Traffic on the highway was dying down at 8pm and didn't pick up again before 6am. We will stay again when passing through. We camped at Stone Mountain Provincial Park in a Truck Camper.

Another great British Columbia Provincial Park. The campsites are spaced apart so that everyone has their own room. View of the lake and mountain is awesome. Not many trees, so it could be hot in the summer months. Also, water must be hand pumped, so it is not easy to fill your tanks. We camped at Stone Mountain Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This BC Provincial Park Campground called Summit Lake Campground, is right beside the Alaska Highway, at the highest point on the Highway at a little over 4,000 feet, but it feels much higher because of how far north you are. You can expect it to be much colder here than at the other campgrounds in the area. It is right on Summit Lake and some campsites are right next to the lake. The only water source is a hand pump, so there is no way to fill a tank. There is a notice on the pump that water should be boiled for 5 minutes before consuming. When we were here, we could not get any water out of the pump, so you will need to bring whatever water you will need during your stay. There are pit toilets and no dump station, so you will be hauling out whatever water you use. Since the campground is right on the highway, there is traffic noise, but, at least when we camped here, there was very little traffic during the day and almost no traffic at night, so it was not a big problem. We were the only ones in the campground and there was no attendant of any type. There are picnic tables and fire pits, but no firewood was available. We had moose walking through the campground and could watch the beaver from our motorhome. There is no Verizon phone signal. Satellite is not a problem as it is out in the open, but we had no luck getting satellite TV because of being so far north. It is a beautiful setting and we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Stone Mountain Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful campground situated on Summit Lake adjacent to the Alaska Highway. Great views - lake and mountains. It can be windy. Lots of wildlife in the area including Caribou and Stone's Sheep (about a 5 minute drive traveling West from the campground. Look for the Sheep on the cliffs as you go down the hill. Great hiking from the campground. The Flower Springs Lake Trail is an easy hike and well worth the effort. Summit Peak trail is also a great hike but more difficult. Watch for Lynx if you do this hike. Day use area. Composting toilet. Friendly and helpful campground hosts. Kayaking or canoeing on the lake is a great option. The site is exposed (no trees). Lots of level sites available. We would stay here again. We camped at Stone Mountain Provincial Park in a Motorhome.
