This RV park is on the main road to Prince George. It is on the river and very clean easy to move your rig, sites are spacious . Locked gate at night. Grounds are well manicured. The owner and his wife are very helpful and go out of their way to do anything for you. This RV park was one of the best in BC. It also had great wifi and cell phone service, many parks do not. Make this a place for your rig, and spend a few nights. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Motorhome.

What a nice surprise. I am 45 feet pulling a truck and i was able to pull into my site and then unhook. It has the best internet I have experienced in a campground. After touring Alaska and Canada it was such a treat to find this place. I never believe signs that say FREE INTERNET - well you can believe the sign here. The park was full with a caravan and the internet was still fast. Why can't other campgrounds have decent internet. Booked to stay here one night and stayed for 3. This is a great small campground on the bluffs over looking the river. Most all sites have a river view. The owners are very nice and accommodating. Also there is a free RV wash. What else can you ask for. All for a very reasonable price. We will stay here again. The owners are doing it right. Thanks. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Motorhome.

The campground is located along Hwy 16 on a hill overlooking the Bulkley river. As there are train tracks on the other side of the river, you will hear the train whistle during the night, though the highway noise is minimal. The owners are most friendly and helpful. In some ways this is a fairly typical private campground, with sites being side by side, though each site is 30 feet wide and has a picnic table and fire pit. Don't be tempted by the pull-through sites along the fence - there is no outdoor seating area, picnic table or fire pit. This campground has are some very nice perks. There is a free vehicle wash, a sauna, over 50 SD cable TV channels, and the fastest WiFi I have ever experienced in a campground - fiber optic. And the building that houses their showers, sauna, and laundry is wonderful. There are three private shower rooms, each with free hot shower, sink with electric outlet, and toilet. There are 3 washers and dryers ($3each). We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a gas station in Telkwa that sells diesel and propane by the pound. Nearby Smithers is a full service community with three grocery stores, Canadian Tire, etc.

This is a very nice park right on the river. The sites are pull in so they face the river and the view is great. Our site was level and hookups were good. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The bathrooms and laundry room were immaculate. They have a high pressure rv and car wash and it is free!! The only negative, and we weren't bothered by it, is that it is on the road so there is a little road noise, and there is a train that goes by occasionally on the other side of the river. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three weeks in a drive in site that looks out over the Balkley River. The owners are the best people you could ask for. Unfortunately, while we were here the river was closed for fishing but come August this place will be busy with fishermen looking for Chinook Salmon and Steehead Trout. The park is located right next to highway 16 so there is some traffic noise. An on site pressure washer that comes with the fee is a really handy feature. Wifi that actually works is included also. Mid way between Prince Rupert and Prince George, this is an excellent choice for your stopover or stay a while and do some fishing. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Smithers, 10Km west, is a nice town with lots of amenities. Great Farmers market on Saturday. Alpenhorn Pub/Bistro on Main Street is a must for good food, good service and of course, cold beer. And, did I mention the fishing?

This park is one of the best we have stayed at and the first one we gave 10 stars. The owners are super friendly and helpful. Our site was pull in so that we had the riverview out our front window. The site was mostly level and auto level only made a few adjustments. The RV wash was much appreciated as we had driven in snow/sleet a few days prior. We had 60 cable channels and the WIFI worked great. Almost wished we had a reason to stay longer. It was the perfect 1 night stop. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this campground twice during the summer. What a nice campground and the owners are wonderful people. The sights are pretty level, and very clean. The bathrooms are extremely clean and a joy to use. The river view is very pretty and I bet the fishing is great there. We were not lucky enough to see any bears though. This campground is right off the highway, so do expect some traffic noise as other reviews mentioned. It is secure with a gate in and out. The owners are very friendly and do a good job with the overall upkeep of the campground. Our site was a back in at the end of the campground on a bluff overlooking the river. The sites are long enough for big rigs and provide a large driveway turn space. The site was somewhat level, but did have fresh poured and raked dirt on the site. Overall it was one of the nicest parks we visited in BC and a one night stay during our travels. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

REALLY nice folks - owners/operators. We chose "pull-in" site - overlooking Bulkley River - about 40' below. We had a "pull-in" so we could see out the front - out-freakin'-standing!!! Clean. Neat. Friendly. Would stay here all summer, if we had something to do (owner sure could use some competent Work-Camper help). Walk down along the river, or into town of Telkwa for ice cream. Smithers - town of about 5000 - only 6 miles away. This is landscape you would expect to see in Amish Country in Pennsylvania - only with bigger mountains. We planned on an over-nite, but ended up staying an extra day, just because... Laundry is at the low-end of the price scale, and they have a DIY high-pressure wash to get the bugs off your camper (included in price). Campground is secure - quiet - and well-maintained. Tempted to drive the 2500 miles back next summer to do a stint as Work-Camper/Campground Host; these are the kind of folks that you work "with," instead of "for." Would DEFINITELY recommend this as "planned" stopping location if you're going back to lower-48, by way of the Cassiar/Yellowhead. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

"Stores" available in Smithers - about 6 miles NW from campground on Yellowhead Highway (Rt 16) - NICE drive in the TOAD. Pretty near everything you need in Smithers - Safeway store has it all - tire/vehicle repair locally available - liquor store next to Safeway - really nice town, complete with anything one "needs." Firewood available at campground - $7/CA.

This is a very nice campground in a beautiful location overlooking the river. Back-ins are easy in/out with a very wide travel lane. Sites are level gravel & big rig suitable at 60'+ long with 15'+ between sites. Some sites are shared pedestals so a coach might nose in & back out, which is okay as you can see the river better that way. Expect some highway noise as Hwy 16 goes right beside the campground. There is also a train track with frequent traffic just across the river. The campground has a free RV/vehicle wash which is a very nice touch. Their lower level bathrooms are a work in progress & barely suitable for use (e.g. showers plumbed but not functioning). I didn't get a chance to visit bathrooms in the main building but I'd guess they were fine. Wifi advertised as free & unlimited. Cable TV worked. TELUS had a good cell signal. Satellite reception was iffy due to trees along edge of campground. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very friend owner. Facilities spotless. Rates for park and laundry were great and a little lower than other parks. Free pressure washer pad. We parked on a bluff overlooking the river. Veronica. Unfortunately the only clump of tall trees blocked our DTV dish, thus I didn't give the park a 9. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Motorhome.

This has to be the best RV park in British Columbia. We are traveling back to the US after visiting Alaska. All parks thus far, have metered and lousy WiFi service. This RV park not only has free vehicle wash, but an outstanding WiFi and free HD TV reception. The only reason this park is not getting a 10 is due to proximity to Canada hwy 16 and the noise. The sites back up to the Telkwa River and provides beautiful relaxing surroundings. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is between the highway and the river. The sites are large and easy to get into. There are 2 sewer connections at each site so will accommodate a variety of RV types. They offer 30 and 50 amp and include sewer, water, cable & wifi. There is a free high power pressure wash for vehicles. We used the laundry room and it was spotless. The sites overlook the river: beautiful. The owners are welcoming and very friendly. Note: coming from the east, there is no turn lane so you must cross the highway which can be difficult if lots of traffic. We stayed here twice: on the way to Prince Rupert and also on the way back from Prince Rupert. Would recommend to others. We camped at Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to travel to Smithers. Quaint town with shops, restaurant's & groceries. Also take in sites of twin falls, house made like a shoe, fish hatchery, and tribal Indians fishing for salmon in a raging gorge using nets. Inquire about locations at Smithers visitor center.
