Stayed 2 nights. Would stay for many more but had a schedule to keep. Excellent site by the lake, spacious, well kept. Plenty of wildlife to view, free showers, FREE firewood, fire rings. We had a minor mechanical issue with a stabilizer and their maint man did a repair for cost of a donation, NO big bill. Restaurant had good food, best hamburger steak in years. Highly recommended !! Hat count (hanging everywhere) as of our stay ... 10,099. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful, clean well maintained rv park. We were given a back in site right on the lake. We were able to watch a moose eat in the lake while we had our dinner and later saw two beaver.
Even though its right on the highway it was very quiet. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is really no decent area to walk dogs other than along the grassy verge of the highway. However we were able to let them swim in the lake

This small park on a lonely stretch of the Alaska Highway is one of the nicest places we've stayed at in more than eight years of full-time RVing. It's also one of the best bargains, thanks in part to the favorable foreign exchange rate and a Good Sam discount. Large, level gravel pads with picnic tables and fire boxes in good condition at each site, surrounded by well-groomed lawn. There's also FREE FIRE WOOD! The park slopes gently down to a medium sized lake with swans aswimming and there are stunning alpine vistas. There's a cafe with a good comfort food menu and cabins that look very nice on the outside. We extended our stay from an overnight to three days because we liked the place so much. There were only a few other campers while we were there, which allowed the dog off-leash to chase a Frisbee and swim in the lake without bothering anyone else (or the swans) or objection from the management. The wi-fi worked well. Elevation is 2,400 ft., so check the weather. We were just barely, and I mean barely given the latitude (North 58?51'), able to connect with DirecTV using a Winegard TRAV'LER dish; no luck with earlier attempts in Fort Nelson and Pink Mountain. If satellite fails, the cable TV signal here is good and channels include HBO and IFC. Fuel and propane are available; we did not check the prices. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was by far the most poorly managed place we've seen thus far in more than 8,000 miles of RVing. And it's a shame because the location (nestled in a valley by a small lake) is perfect and this could be a 5-star place. But it is poorly managed, short-staffed, and ill-kept.

Had a reservation for our RV at Toad River. Went in after a long day's drive only to wait at the counter for more than 10 minutes for someone to come from the kitchen. When we gave our name, she told us the "new girl" had booked us in a site that was already taken, they had no more RV sites available but we could pull up near one of the cabins and hook in to water and electric from one of the buildings. After looking at the tight space where they wanted to put us, I walked back in, waited again, and told her we'd decided to drive on. Miraculously, they suddenly had a site available. Unbelievable.

The sites were relatively flat, decent water pressure, enough space to park our Jeep alongside. They had extremely weak WiFi (worse than many campgrounds). Wildlife (we saw a moose, beaver, ducks, etc.) come to the water in the evening, but there is no designated place to walk to the lake's edge so we had to walk through people's campsites to access it.

We didn't even try the restaurant because we'd already seen people waiting impatiently for food and the same woman who finally "discovered" a site for us was already stacking chairs on tables at 8:20 even though we were told the restaurant was open until 9 p.m.

Had we not had such a hassle after we bothered to make reservations, my rating would have been a little better. This is such a missed opportunity on the owners' part. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed 3 nights. Beautiful spot on lake near beaver dam and lodge. Enjoyed watching the beaver and muskrats. They have fuel, tire repair, and propane as well as good food at restaurant. Free firewood, cable TV and WiFi. Very friendly staff. Will definitely stay again. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here on the way up to check it out, as it was much too early in the day to stop for the night. Liked what we saw and stayed two nights on the way back from Alaska. Very clean, excellent views, friendly staff, lots of room to maneuver our rig. We had a pull through, level, easy hook ups. Free firewood. Here in a 42 towing, Would certainly stay here again. Beautiful RV Park a couple of hours north of Ft Nelson. Wi-Fi in Park as well as Lodge. Perfect setting - we stayed 2 nights in lakeside view site.

Pull-through sites in middle of park - big rigs had no problems that we saw. Back-in site around perimeter (lake side) were level with gravel and grass.

Obvious that owners care about their park. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Be sure to watch for moose in and around lake a.k.a. Very large beaver pond.

Had to sort out our reservation for this place as we were assigned a site away from the lake and for only one night. In the end we got our lake view site for 2 nights as previously requested. Our site (#15) was a level gravel back-in. It was a spacious site that had a table and grill. All utilities worked fine. Our satellite cable TV had problems with picture quality and would cut out at times. Only about 10 channels available. Wi-Fi worked fine until the evening traffic slowed it down considerably. It was good enough at times for downloading pictures. Laundromat has 3 washers and 3 dryers. Wash was good, but drying took time. Restrooms and showers clean, but old and dated. Still this place is one of the better stops along the Alaska highway and we would not hesitate in staying here again. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful scenery. Clean campsite, but it reminded me of a parking lot. 30-amp hookup. (50-amp not available.) Although we didn't have cell phone coverage, the WiFi worked quite well. If you need air in your RV tires, it's not available here, because their air compressor doesn't go to 90 PSI.

As a side note, restaurant food is good but took 20 minutes to get service and another 35-40 minutes before our food was ready. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Toad River RV Park is one of our favorite way stations along the Alaska Highway. FHU with cable and WIFI. Level gravel sites surrounded by grass in a picturesque valley adjacent to Beaver dam and lake. Quaint restaurant and gift shop in a historic facility. Outstanding value. We stayed two nights and really enjoyed it. If at all possible, take a back-in spot as they overlook the lake. Most have plenty of room to back in a big rig. When we think of camping and the Alaska Highway, this was it. Lots of birds and ducks around the lake as well as a beaver. We didn't see the resident moose while we were there but did see plenty of wildlife in the area with relatively close access to Stone Mountain and Muncho Lake Parks. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had read in Alaskan Camping about a concern of water being mineralized, not good for drinking and could stain clothes. As advised, we did arrive with a full tank of freshwater. However, by my simple tests of smell and taste, I saw nothing wrong with the water and we didn't use our tank water. We would most definitely stay here again. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here many times and always plan our trip so we don't miss the Toad River Lodge. Very nice hosts. The park is spotless and the view matches and surpasses anything we've experienced along the Alcan (Alaska Hiway). Laundry facilities were excellent as was the Wi-Fi. Cable TV was basic. Altogether a very restful, quiet park. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Toad River has been a highpoint of our camping experiences while traveling the Alaska Highway. Very nicely laid out and well maintained campsites located in a remote area adjacent to the highway. Restroom facilities were rustic and outdated as was the laundry room, however, it was a very enjoyable and lovely setting to stop and relax. A Beaver pond/lake next to the campsite provided excellent wildlife entertainment at no extra cost. Full hook-ups nicely positioned at campsites. Campsites well marked. Much needed fuel was available. The Wi-Fi was the best we’ve experienced in the Northwest. The on-site café ceiling was covered in ball caps. We would stay here again. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Was going to stop for just a night but ended up staying three days. Site was backed up to a large beaver pond. Very tranquil and restful. Pond had active beaver and muskrats along with migratory ducks. Seemed like we saw a different type of duck each day. Highlight was watching moose feed in the pond, as many as four at a time every early afternoon and some mornings. Nicest and most reasonable park we'd found in the last 3 weeks of traveling. Would definitely come back. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Best campground in the Alaska Highway! I really enjoyed the setting, access from main road, wifi, and noises of animals and fauna around. The internet speed was above expected in such a secluded setting. I was quite impressed about having such fast connection. I was able to do the accumulated work that I could not do during the rest of the Alaska highway. Most campgrounds advertise on the Milepost that they offer free wifi, but only once you are there they say they do not guarantee it will work, and of course, it won't. I did not use the campground showers or bathrooms so I cannot comment on them. I loved the beaver dam by the campground and all of the animal noises at dawn. Peaceful and secluded place ideal to rest after long driving hours. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
