This is not the place to go if you're traveling on a budget but it is very convenient to downtown Victoria and the service is excellent. They even agreed to let us check out late so we could spend time with our family. Thanks! There are quite a few long term campers in this park but it doesn't look junky and it's quite quiet, except for the traffic noise, but then it is near a larger city. We used this as a base to visit family in the area and it was very convenient for that. We would stay here again. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The traffic around Victoria is very busy especially at 'rush hour' so if you don't like sitting in traffic you may want to consider the bus or not trying to travel at all around rush hour.

Very nice park just a few kilometers away from the city Victoria. At the reception you can get a list with departures times, and in 10 minutes walk you will find the bus station. In 20 minutes you are in Victoria. Also you can do your laundry. Price is ok. The wifi is fine and also the place for the camper was big enough. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

A lot of sushi restaurants. The bookstore Chapters is great, the Irish pubs and restaurant The Keg in Victoria . Make sure you have cash and coins for the bus: 5 dollars for a day ticket.

Stayed here for a week in our 40' motorhome. This is an older park but the sites in the area we were in were adequate with good services and fairly level gravel site with a small brick patio. The staff at this park were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is located on Island Highway 1A. Good access to downtown Victoria and other sites. Four Mile Pub about a mile to the East on 1A has good food and a variety of great beers brewed on site. About a mile in the opposite direction on 1A is the 6 mile pub. Also good food and beer selection. Oldest pub in British Columbia. Gotta check these out.

Friendly staff who checked us in fast and efficiently. We had a well located site between the office and laundry. It was a fairly level gravel back-in. It had hedges for privacy. There was a picnic table on a brick patio. No fires allowed, not even propane portable devices. I did have to go back to the office to get a cable TV box for the digital channels. There are a few choices for Wi-Fi. Paid or free through the park and Shaw hotspot . I hooked up to the park's free access and had no problems with it for e-mail and browsing. The laundry equipment is old, but clean. Close to the Galloping Goose trail. We have been here before and will continue to stay here for any future visits to the area. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

While some sites are fairly close, I've been in worse in the States. Management / hosts very friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean. Showers were FREE - a big deal throughout Canada. Seemed about the best proximity for downtown Victoria. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is almost side by side "sardine can" RVing, but not quite. Some sites have trees that prevent units from putting their awnings out, and some are very short sites providing them with cramped space when parking their tow vehicle, or "towed" vehicle. All hook ups work well, but the wifi can be slow at times (both Shaw go, and Fort Victoria). There are a large number of permanent units, but most are well kept, and the park itself is quiet at night. There is a steady hum from traffic on the highway. Within walking distance at the corner of Pheasant Lane and Helmcken Rd there is a dog park with an off leash area. The park has narrow roads and a few small hills that can make maneuvering tricky. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We needed a place to stay as we are between homes having just moved to Vancouver Island. I really like to hosts they are friendly and very accommodating. Although the facilities are dated everything works and the facilities are really clean. All the sites are gravel but they are level and lots of room between each other. Definitely recommend. Tips for other Campers:

this is Victoria BC one of the most interesting beautiful cities in Canada, every weekend there is an event planned for the city during the summer months. Plan on spending a few days as there is so much to do and see

This is a city RV park, with a majority of permanent sites. It is also one of few options for a tourist looking for proximity to Victoria. Despite many permanent residents, not all of whom appear prosperous, we have never had a negative issue on numerous stays. Transient residents are grouped in the best area and the staff is efficient, helpful and pleasant. It was disappointing to find that they have gone to a cable box system, that was essentially ineffective for our motorhome's setup. We really had no cable, but were able to get a few channels over the aerial. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You are in the city of Victoria! There are too many great things to see and do to list here. For bicycle types, a major bike path runs right by and will take you into the downtown easily. Finally, try and get a site on the other side of the hill from the highway - you will thank me for this advice.

This park has an interesting mix of pros and cons.
The park is close to all areas of the city. The sites are small, clean, with little privacy and brick patios, picnic tables, and level parking. With the small sites, the roads have a large number of vehicles encroaching on the narrow paved roads. All of the services work well, including the wifi. Staff are helpful and washrooms facilities are well kept except there were no hand drying towels in the men's side and the electric hand drier was broken. Showers are free. A short distance to the east is a large off leash dog area. A trail used mostly for bicycles runs right through the center of the park as well. The park is full of steep hills which is a bit of a pain when walking to the washroom facilities. Unfortunately, there are a number of old ugly units belonging to some full time residents, but the park is quiet at night except for the constant hum of the adjacent highway. Some RVers complain about full timers, but it seems that these parks generally have a tendency to be more quiet than parks with large numbers of weekenders who arrive to party. This park is an example of paying for location rather than amenities. We would stay here again. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

There are over 300 sites in this park and it is situated under some major power lines. There is a picnic table in each site. The laundry room was large and open. We did not use it or the bathrooms and showers. The sites were too cramped for our liking, the sites are too close together.

Our dogs were attacked by an off leash (they say it ran out unexpectedly) vicious dog. You could tell it was not the first time. We notified the office and are cutting our stay short. We did not get a good vibe from this place anyway. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Most sites are small and close together.

Our site was on hill with cedar hedge on both sides on top of rock retaining wall which gave nice privacy. We were able to park our van in front of our trailer but took some doing with slope of roadway and our level site.

Most sites in the park are level and open with some fencing or hedging between some sites. Be prepared to level your rig to some degree.

This is a large park with many f/t residents which kinda gives the feel of a trailer park and not an rv park.

Laundry and washrooms were clean and tidy.

We stayed here for 1 week. We would stay here again perhaps a night or two tho. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The bad: Expensive for what you get. Right next to a highway...although it's more of a steady drone, so not too disturbing. A lot of permanent trailers/motorhomes...some in very rough condition. Fairly far from downtown Victoria. Most of the sites have little or no privacy. The good: fairly flat sites. Laundry room was clean. Children's park looked nice. All in all, I would stay here again for a one-night on the way to somewhere, but not for an extended stay. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We used this park due to its proximity to the ferry for Port Angeles. The overnighter section of the park is consistently quite acceptable and a good base for local activities, as it is centrally located. Staff were friendly and efficient. We will return when we are passing through, but would pick another park for extended stays to the area. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Friendly, helpful staff. Despite being over a hill, sites (while gravel) were reasonably level. A good spot when passing through or seeing Victoria (transit right to park). Train tracks right through park, but the rails are rusty. Nothing really special, but nothing really negative. Pricy, but right in the city. Will be back when passing through. We really liked our site with the patch of grass for the kids to play on and it provided some nice shade. The kids also really liked the playground (even though it was a bit old). I really appreciated that the playground area was fenced in. It was very quiet here. The sites were level and easy to get in & out of. The staff was very friendly & helpful here. I was surprised at how many "full-timers" there were here, but they kept the sites clean and it seemed they were all in one specific area. It is also close enough to walk to the bus line that takes you right into downtown so you didn't have to drive, which was nice. We camped at Fort Victoria RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
