The access road is quite steep and windy. This park has a group campsite and three individual campsite loops. The sites in the first loop are closer and not as private as the other two loops. However, there were two long pull-through sites in that loop that would accommodate any size rig. We had a site in loop 3 and it was a good size with many trees for shade and privacy. Unfortunately, the trees were cottonwoods and the sticky seeds meant picking up debris and gravel and making a mess wherever we stepped. Our site was level, had a picnic table and fire ring. The old pit toilets in our loop have been converted to flush with a sink. No dump station in the park. Closest would be the one at Bear Creek park to the south. Picked up two OTA TV channels in HD. No Wi-Fi, but had 4 bars on the Rogers network. There are two beaches for swimming, a pet beach for dogs, a boat ramp, and a few trails around the former Fintry Estate. We were fortunate to get a tour of the Manor House, which is where the Scottish Liard, James Dun-Waters lived. A trail up 371 steps takes you to Shorts Creek Falls which was in full flood during our stay. The former estate also has other buildings such as an octagonal dairy barn and a former packing house for fruit. Very interesting place and an enjoyable stay. We would most definitely come back again. We camped at Fintry Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It's about 35km on a narrow and windy road to West Kelowna where most shopping is available. So the best bet is to bring in any supplies you may need for your stay.

Nightly stay $32 Cdn. (did not book on-line). We've stayed at Fintry a number of times and always enjoyed it. This is the first time that we camped in the new loops though. The second loop (51-75) is partly shaded on the perimeter sites and fully exposed in the interior. If it's a typical Okanagan summer day, you'll want shade. The third loop (76-100) is almost all in the open. I recommend the first loop (1-50). It is more established and better lake access with 1-13A right on the waters edge. Also, in the first loop, is the only playground for the kids. Fintry is a delta so it's completely flat, great for bicycling. If you're energetic, climb the 300+ stairs to the falls. Well worth the effort. The boat launch was closed due to high water but we were allowed to launch our kayaks from the shore. My only gripe is the $12 extra for having an extra vehicle. If you don't want to pay, you'll have to park outside the Park's gate. Also, the extra fee charged per day to book on-line, puts the cost close to full-service campground prices. We camped at Fintry Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Limited services in the area. Buy your supplies in Vernon or Kelowna. There are a few water taps available to fill your fresh water tank.

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice provincial park that is very busy during the summer season. It has sites that are in the shade and sites in the sun. Several sites are right on the lake which is good if you have a boat. There is a modern boat ramp and dock. There are a few pull-through sites that should accommodate the largest of RVs. The road down from Westside road is a bit steep and windy but if you take it slow you should have no problems. Westside road itself is also a bit windy, but again take it slow and it's not a problem. We will be back. We camped at Fintry Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The park is the former Fintry estate and has several old buildings including some that are restored. There is a staircase up to a fantastic view of the falls if you're looking for a bit of exercise (400 steps)!!
