Stayed here few times as this is the only a decent place around and near north of LA. Had a reservation in advance and check in was swift and efficient by friendly office staffs. It's gated and feels safe. The park ground is completely paved and site is terraced as it sits on a hill, but not difficult to drive a big rig. A bit narrow site, consists of half cement for rig and half grasses, with no picnic table. The space between sites is close but have seen worse. Due to the drought problem, what used to be green grasses are almost gone, and now it's mostly dirt. They could cover all with cement except a sloped portion for a better, useful space and to prevent dirt tracking to the rig. One big concern is a lack of lights at night, even entrance to bathroom/shower facility is so dark that I used my flashlight. Most parks I have been, have a pass code for bathroom/shower. However, I felt very uneasy with no pass code to bathroom/shower, but the laundry room requires a pass code. Swimming pool and laundry seem nice and bathroom/shower is always clean. Park Wi-Fi is almost useless s0 we used our Verizon jet-pack entire time. My iPhone connection was satisfactory but the cable listing is very limited with poor reception. The park itself gives you a rural atmosphere, surrounded with horse ranches and beautiful mountains. We stayed here in a 43' rig and the pad length is long enough to park a tow vehicle. Will definitely back! We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is an okay park for an overnighter. Sites are paved and terraced, reasonably level, but no room between for even a chair. Staff is friendly. Our site was a tight fit with our toad, but we managed, and there is overflow parking. Many full-timers, but not an issue. Restrooms were good, clean with hot water and good pressure. There is a pool and hot tub, but pool isn't heated. Wifi was okay. Good access from CA 14. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Antelope Valley California Poppy Preserve outside of Lancaster is a 40-minute drive from here through some beautiful countryside. Acton has a well-stocked grocery store, about 5 minutes away on Crown Valley Rd, with lots of natural and organic foods -- and it's a pretty area for a drive. Tipi Hendren's Shambala exotic animal refuge is also here, but public access is limited, with a strict no-kids policy (check out their website for info).

This is about the cheapest park you can find around LA, and it is not that far from everything in LA. The park is good sized, big RV will have no issues with getting around. There is plenty of extra parking, the place is very clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The spaces are a tad close together but not that bad really. There are concrete and gravel sites and trees that are not to big that blocking satellite signal is an issue. The local cities have everything you need and if you like deserts, it can be a lot of fun here as the open desert is not far away. Only three hours to Death Valley as well. The only downside to this park is that the pool is not heated, that might just be this time of year, but a heated pool 365 days would be a plus, the other negative is the poor Wifi. Most times you can get email and such, but with the slow system, when people start coming home, it crawls to a stop and then even watching a YouTube video is near impossible. We would stay here again, we stayed here in a 45' 5th wheel and had enough room. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

There aren't many RV parks/resorts in the LA metro area, especially those that can accommodate our 40.5' rig so we consider ourselves lucky to have found this lovely RV resort. The staff have all been helpful, accommodating, and courteous. The views at sunset are breathtaking. Yes, the sites might be close and tight for a large rig but not more so than in many other RV resorts and parks.

The park's rules are fair and not unusual for a well kept, clean, and safe RV resort that accommodates daily, weekly, and monthly guests. These rules are evenly and respectfully enforced. The resort has excellent security with keycard access for guests, which is comforting.

Unfortunately, like the rest of California, Acton is suffering from a long term and extreme drought and the resort's grass has suffered from it. The resort waters the greenery per the current limitations imposed by the state and, presumably, the county. The pool is clean and available during the warmer months. Propane gas grills are permitted.

RE: WiFi/ cable. The wifi is barely adequate and the cable is very spotty throughout the park. However, if you are only going to be a short term visitor and/or you have alternate means for entertainment (eg, satellite TV/internet) this will not be anywhere near a burden. This area is full of wonderful things to do that are close or well within a few hours from The park. The views, especially at sunset, are spectacular. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

1) during warm/hot mths, bring anti-ant products (eg, sprays, powders) to spray around the outside of your rig.

2) The resort doesn't have a playground for kids. The Acton, CA municipal website may assist parents seeking local activities for their kids.

3) There's terrific shopping in the Palmdale-Lancaster area (10-15 min north on I14). There is also shopping in Santa Clarita (20 min south on I 14).

Beautiful park with great views of the surrounding mountains. Quiet, clean, sites were close, but each had a nice grassy area for the dogs. About a 15 minute drive to nearest city/shopping area. Weekly rate. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice RV park. It consists of mostly long-term campers but has a long row of sites available for shorter stays. The sites are long enough for big rigs but very narrow. There aren't many trees so the narrowness of the sites doesn't pose a problem for slide-outs, but there is only a very small patch of grass at each site to sit out on, and there are no picnic tables. The facilities are all super clean. There is a pool & spa. Didn't use them but they looked very nice. The shower rooms were among the largest I've come across. Very comfortable. And they have a nice large laundry room which we made good use of. They have cable but didn't use it, however the Wi-Fi was free and excellent! Was able to use it fully both at our site and in the laundry room. I really appreciated being able to bring my laptop and multi-task while doing the laundry!

The office was closed when we arrived at 3 p.m. and there was no self-check in, only a confusing sign on the door. We almost left, but since we could see that there were lots of spaces available we called the number on the door. The owner (manager?) apparently lives just upstairs and came down right away and checked us in. That and the lack of picnic tables are the only reasons that I gave this park a 9 instead of a 10. Very nice place and we would definitely stay again if we are passing through this area. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Truck Camper.

Seemed like a good park although all he spaces are really close together. More like a place where people live full time, but it doesn't look like it. Worst dog run I have ever seen, they do have an area called "the back yard" where pets are allowed that is really nice. Could be a windy area. Didn't see anyone sitting outside of their rigs. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Watch for sign as GPS took us to the RV dealer 2 doors down. Check in was fast and easy. They allowed us to pick our site, great customer service. Cookies and site escort were a nice touch. They treated you like family, quick to respond to any issue. Many monthly sites but all neat and tidy, the best we have ever seen. Management seems to be on top of all sites, nice to see rules are for all guests not just short term ones! We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Great park for overnight. The pull-through site was long enough that we did not have to disconnect our toad. Sites are a bit close together. Office staff was friendly and led us to our site. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Previous reviews give this CG a bad rap but it is Fine for shorter rigs. I'd say anything up to 37 feet would have little to no difficulty. Mine is 35'. They said most buses disconnect toads after turning into the level portion inside the gate and have no problems thereafter. Interior roads are paved and double wide which makes turns into sites easy. Yes, sites are narrow at 11' and the power pedestal takes up some of that space right by the entry. Sites are 60 feet long but you may lose about 7 feet of that if you have a slide-out on the left side due to placement of the pedestal. They were parking rigs in every other spot and allowed me to park my toad in the adjacent spot since they weren't full. When you first turn into the park, you have to stop on an uphill grade to register. That bothered me more than the narrow sites. They lead you to your site which is terraced and paved into the hillside. There is nice grass and flowers between sites but everything slopes when you get off your pad. Overall this is a pretty park and well manicured. They also have 4 sites which they have widened about 2 feet for larger rigs so inquire about them if you need it. Good ATT & Verizon signals. Have stayed here several times. Park is on a hillside but all the sites are level concrete with grass and trees. Very nice. Clean, well kept; water, electricity. and sewer all good. Office staff helpful. Reasonably easy to get in and out of sites even with our 40' rig. Closest small shopping is 3 miles in Acton. Closest big shopping is 7-10 miles in Palmdale/Lancaster. Only 40 miles from N. Hollywood. Nice place, especially if you want access to North LA or Magic Mountain (20 miles). Will stay here again. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Some fwy noise from the 14, but not too bad. Sites are paved & long, but narrow (there's a grass strip in between each site that helps with this). No picnic tables. Wifi works well & cable TV is good, pool and spa are sparkling and inviting. Dog run is dirt and small, but the owners open up the grassy yard behind the office for off-leash dogs, which is very nice! Easy in and out, but you have to stop on an incline to check in. Roads are a bit narrow, but easy to navigate. All in all, a nice, relaxing park. We'll stay here again. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We parked here one night and did not need anything except full hookup. It is a beautiful park, friendly staff, but I would never park here again. I have been an 18 wheel driver, a safe, accident free driver, but I demolished the power pedestal at the first site I was assigned here while trying to keep trailer on pavement. The pads are very narrow, the power pedestals and water faucets are actually set within the concrete pads on one side, the sprinkler heads are installed against the concrete pads on the opposite side. You have to tramp in flower beds to hook up. After I hit the pedestal I commented about the small size of the sites and was told by the manager the sites were not meant for today's larger trailers; although, she had asked size of my travel trailer. At about 7 a.m. next morning grounds crew was noisily cleaning flower beds including bumping against out trailer. Again, beautiful park, but problematic for big rigs, We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park. Nice area in Antelope Vly hills. Built on a hillside and split into two separate areas, one for longer term. Level concrete sites, asphalt driveways with grass and trees between sites. Pads are a bit narrow but adequate space between sites (long term is a bit more room but asphalt &gravel and not as aesthetic. Controlled access. Wi-Fi good (1 week free), cable TV good. Water and power all good. Not much in way of shopping close by. Nearest is Palmdale-7 miles. 40 minutes from Burbank/N Hollywood (with decent traffic). We'd stay here again. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Nice quiet spot with good mountain views. The electricity, sewer and water hook-ups worked flawlessly. The pool was large and very clean. They do have some extended stay people, but everybody was friendly and respected other campers privacy. After quiet time, the place is so still I could hear the air leaking from my spare tire! All in all, a great place to stay. The only gripe I had is relatively minor. I wish there was a little more space between sites and for some reason, the sprinklers in the grass area between sites came on around 8 pm. We were still grilling dinner when we had to move everything to keep from getting wet. I think a better choice would be to have them come on late at night. Would stay here again. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
