Conveniently located just off SR14 a few miles south of Palmdale, this park has mostly full hookup pull-thru sites with a concrete site pad and a gravel or dirt patio, although the sites are a bit narrow since they are built up a steep hill and have an upgrade between the sites. No picnic table. There is what appears to be an older section that has more mature trees that provide some shade for these sites but we were in the section that has much smaller trees, no shade. There is a relatively large pool and excellent WiFi, although in order to connect you must ignore a security warning about their expired certificate. This should be corrected. The only real complaint I would mention is that the bathrooms were not being cleaned daily when we were there. The floor was quite dirty on many occasions and the door could use a new coat of paint (or replacement). We paid $37.85 per night on a weekly rate. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here on this visit to Antelope Valley rather than going to the Fairgrounds, hoping for some shade. They do have trees, but they are young and small. The sites are all pull through's just long enough for my 26'trailer and truck. Sites are level, but my slide extends over the uphill side, so I cannot get to my utilities until I retract the slide. My biggest complaint is no cable TV, and the over-air is very sketchy at best. No picnic table. The Internet works, but is pretty slow. They have a nice pool and hot tub area. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

As another reviewer mentioned, you do stop on a hill to check in or you can stop in the space in the street. The park is on a steep hill with terraced sites. Office staff is very friendly. Shorter term people are usually in the first three rows while the many longer term make up the remainder of the large park. The roads are paved and the sites are a mix of paved, gravel and dirt. Not much landscaping between sites and because the hills are steep, so are the site edges. Our site was long enough for our 38 ft fifth wheel and HDT with barely enough space for the Jeep. There are two parking areas in the park as well. The sites are pretty narrow. We stayed for a month and the $775 included electric. The wi-fi actually worked fairly well. We were in the park to visit family and were often gone for several days at a time with no concerns about leaving our rig. Verizon phone was fine but we did wander between 3 and 4g. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Because the hills in the park are so steep you can easily get a bit of a workout walking around.

The park is super clean and our site was level and plenty large enough for our 23' travel trailer. The view of the surrounding hills is beautiful. While Hwy 14 was very close the traffic noise was minimal. One reviewer mentioned the workout room did not have much equipment and while I didn't check out the room I did walk up and down the hilly streets and it was a great workout. I noticed lots of people doing this daily. We used this as our base to explore L.A. from and while it was an hour's drive to get there it didn't feel too far. We would stay there again. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

LOCATION: on a hillside above CA-14. Some freeway noise if you're outside, but not bothersome, and barely audible if you're in your rig. Nice views of surrounding mountains. Generally quiet park with mostly higher-end RVs. You're out of the big city, but it's still accessible - although it will take about 45-60 minutes to get into central LA or Pasadena, or more if traffic is bad. Not much in the way of shopping or restaurants in Acton, but there are many choices in Palmdale, about 8 miles away. BIG RIG ACCESS: very good through the park itself. Most sites are pull-thrus. Turns getting into and out of sites can be tight, especially with overhanging branches, but management will trim them if needed. SITES: average width; you're not right up against your neighbors, but you are close enough that their rigs mostly block your view. Long enough (just barely) to park our truck in front of rig. Very level, even though park is on a hillside. Some sites are all concrete, some have concrete pads with adjacent grass strip, and some are gravel, so ask when you make your reservation. Many sites have trees at one end or the other or both. CONNECTIVITY: strong wifi signal throughout the park, but their connection to internet seemed poor. Wifi frequently disconnected. We had to rely on our Verizon hotspot most of the time. Verizon and AT&T signals weak but usable. MANAGEMENT: Excellent. Some of the friendliest and most responsive folks you'll ever meet. Any concerns we had were addressed promptly. VALUE: at $775 per month (electricity included), it's a good value considering the area. We stayed one month + four days, three of them at Passport America rate ($23) and the last with a Good Sam discount ($40). OVERALL: This is an excellent park, and we would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. The main disadvantage is the distance from LA if you want to do in-city activities. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is probably the nicest RV park in the area. The sites are OK, but they vary in quality. The biggest problem is that the park's website indicates that they offer more than they actually do. No cable TV. Very poor wifi. Minimal exercise room with old equipment. No picnic table. Etc. Lots of long term RVers, though the spaces are kept nice. So, it's actually a pretty basic park without a lot of extras. Great for a short stay. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Very well run RV park that is always clean. It is situated on a steep hill but each space is leveled out very well. We had to disconnect our tow, to fit it in on the front. (42 ft Motorcoach) We had no work navigating in the park with our coach. One thing: when checking in, there's a slight hill you have to stop on and I worry about stopping on the slope, so we parked out on the main approach road and made the short walk up the hill to registration. You are charged $25 for a gate entry card, so you have to make sure you return it for a refund of your deposit. This park is close to the Metrolink Station at Vincent Grade, where you can take a train all the way to downtown LA, with connections everywhere. Soledad Canyon, further to the West, suffered a lot of fire damage in this year's fire. There are no picnic tables, fire rings and limited room to set up outside. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed here few times as this is the only a decent place around and near north of LA. Had a reservation in advance and check in was swift and efficient by friendly office staffs. It's gated and feels safe. The park ground is completely paved and site is terraced as it sits on a hill, but not difficult to drive a big rig. A bit narrow site, consists of half cement for rig and half grasses, with no picnic table. The space between sites is close but have seen worse. Due to the drought problem, what used to be green grasses are almost gone, and now it's mostly dirt. They could cover all with cement except a sloped portion for a better, useful space and to prevent dirt tracking to the rig. One big concern is a lack of lights at night, even entrance to bathroom/shower facility is so dark that I used my flashlight. Most parks I have been, have a pass code for bathroom/shower. However, I felt very uneasy with no pass code to bathroom/shower, but the laundry room requires a pass code. Swimming pool and laundry seem nice and bathroom/shower is always clean. Park Wi-Fi is almost useless s0 we used our Verizon jet-pack entire time. My iPhone connection was satisfactory but the cable listing is very limited with poor reception. The park itself gives you a rural atmosphere, surrounded with horse ranches and beautiful mountains. We stayed here in a 43' rig and the pad length is long enough to park a tow vehicle. Will definitely back! We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is an okay park for an overnighter. Sites are paved and terraced, reasonably level, but no room between for even a chair. Staff is friendly. Our site was a tight fit with our toad, but we managed, and there is overflow parking. Many full-timers, but not an issue. Restrooms were good, clean with hot water and good pressure. There is a pool and hot tub, but pool isn't heated. Wifi was okay. Good access from CA 14. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Antelope Valley California Poppy Preserve outside of Lancaster is a 40-minute drive from here through some beautiful countryside. Acton has a well-stocked grocery store, about 5 minutes away on Crown Valley Rd, with lots of natural and organic foods -- and it's a pretty area for a drive. Tipi Hendren's Shambala exotic animal refuge is also here, but public access is limited, with a strict no-kids policy (check out their website for info).

This is about the cheapest park you can find around LA, and it is not that far from everything in LA. The park is good sized, big RV will have no issues with getting around. There is plenty of extra parking, the place is very clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The spaces are a tad close together but not that bad really. There are concrete and gravel sites and trees that are not to big that blocking satellite signal is an issue. The local cities have everything you need and if you like deserts, it can be a lot of fun here as the open desert is not far away. Only three hours to Death Valley as well. The only downside to this park is that the pool is not heated, that might just be this time of year, but a heated pool 365 days would be a plus, the other negative is the poor Wifi. Most times you can get email and such, but with the slow system, when people start coming home, it crawls to a stop and then even watching a YouTube video is near impossible. We would stay here again, we stayed here in a 45' 5th wheel and had enough room. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

There aren't many RV parks/resorts in the LA metro area, especially those that can accommodate our 40.5' rig so we consider ourselves lucky to have found this lovely RV resort. The staff have all been helpful, accommodating, and courteous. The views at sunset are breathtaking. Yes, the sites might be close and tight for a large rig but not more so than in many other RV resorts and parks.

The park's rules are fair and not unusual for a well kept, clean, and safe RV resort that accommodates daily, weekly, and monthly guests. These rules are evenly and respectfully enforced. The resort has excellent security with keycard access for guests, which is comforting.

Unfortunately, like the rest of California, Acton is suffering from a long term and extreme drought and the resort's grass has suffered from it. The resort waters the greenery per the current limitations imposed by the state and, presumably, the county. The pool is clean and available during the warmer months. Propane gas grills are permitted.

RE: WiFi/ cable. The wifi is barely adequate and the cable is very spotty throughout the park. However, if you are only going to be a short term visitor and/or you have alternate means for entertainment (eg, satellite TV/internet) this will not be anywhere near a burden. This area is full of wonderful things to do that are close or well within a few hours from The park. The views, especially at sunset, are spectacular. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

1) during warm/hot mths, bring anti-ant products (eg, sprays, powders) to spray around the outside of your rig.

2) The resort doesn't have a playground for kids. The Acton, CA municipal website may assist parents seeking local activities for their kids.

3) There's terrific shopping in the Palmdale-Lancaster area (10-15 min north on I14). There is also shopping in Santa Clarita (20 min south on I 14).

This is a very nice RV park. It consists of mostly long-term campers but has a long row of sites available for shorter stays. The sites are long enough for big rigs but very narrow. There aren't many trees so the narrowness of the sites doesn't pose a problem for slide-outs, but there is only a very small patch of grass at each site to sit out on, and there are no picnic tables. The facilities are all super clean. There is a pool & spa. Didn't use them but they looked very nice. The shower rooms were among the largest I've come across. Very comfortable. And they have a nice large laundry room which we made good use of. They have cable but didn't use it, however the Wi-Fi was free and excellent! Was able to use it fully both at our site and in the laundry room. I really appreciated being able to bring my laptop and multi-task while doing the laundry!

The office was closed when we arrived at 3 p.m. and there was no self-check in, only a confusing sign on the door. We almost left, but since we could see that there were lots of spaces available we called the number on the door. The owner (manager?) apparently lives just upstairs and came down right away and checked us in. That and the lack of picnic tables are the only reasons that I gave this park a 9 instead of a 10. Very nice place and we would definitely stay again if we are passing through this area. We camped at The Californian RV Resort in a Truck Camper.

Seemed like a good park although all he spaces are really close together. More like a place where people live full time, but it doesn't look like it. Worst dog run I have ever seen, they do have an area called "the back yard" where pets are allowed that is really nice. Could be a windy area. Didn't see anyone sitting outside of their rigs.
