The wifi was unusable at our site. No cable. Nothing here but dirt and weeds. Terrifying road entering and leaving which is brutal on the brakes. Garbage has to be taken to a dumpster by yourself with a super heavy hot lid clipped down. Only two washers. Campground is being closed permanently oct. 31 2017. Only overpriced cabins will remain. The area is so full of ground squirrel holes I rolled an ankle more than once. It's more expensive than a KOA for nothing to do. Crooked, unlevel sites. No shade! We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Off the beaten path with no frills. If you want to be in the quiet, off the beaten path with basic electric, water, sewer then this is your place. You can get verizon cell coverage because a tower is directly behind us and the wifi is ok. The drive in was slow going but not hazardous. It is only a few miles off the main road but if you want an easy on/off this is not your place. Not much going on, you are on your own to check in and find a spot (places with or without trees for your sat). The roads are not big so there are tight turns in the park to get around but you can make wide, on the grass, sweeps. Very pretty grassy and natural environment. Don;t think we would come back. Not a great value to us. We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wanting a spot as a base camp for going to Yosemite, we selected Sierra Meadow. When we called, they were super-busy dealing with a wedding but managed to reserve us a spot. While the road leading to the campsite is twisty, it's really not bad at all. The RV sites are asphalt with grassy areas between them, all fairly level. Ours didn't have a picnic table, but we asked for one and it was delivered quickly. No firepit/grill. Hookups worked well, and there was good WiFi and good Verizon signal. Men's restrooms/showers were under repair, with spotty availability; women's was nice. The laundry room was open and nice. The management people we encountered were nice and helpful. The park was very quiet. We would likely stay at Sierra Meadows again, but not as a base camp to explore Yosemite... it's too far away. We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Southgate Brewing Co. was pretty good (and has porters, our favorite beer). The Sweetwater Steakhouse was fair-to-good. There are a few nice grocery stores in Oakhurst. For a hike closer than Yosemite, try the Lewis Creek Trail... very nice.

To get into Oakhurst (which has lots of stores and restaurants) is only 15 minutes. However, the round-trip to Yosemite Valley is almost 4 hours. After three trips into Yosemite, we elected to find other hikes, closer to us.

This is a hidden diamond as far as we're concerned. We were at another site for one night and moved here. As far as the road getting here is concerned, its no big deal. It has great views of the mountains and yes your going down into a valley. A beautiful valley. We saw herds of deer, turkeys and talked to people who saw bobcats. . If motor home isn't your thing, there are numerous cabins to choose from. Fires aren't permitted but we have a big fire ring we bought at Costco fueled by propane which is aloud. Very quiet which we love. The least people the better. That's why we do this. Oh, did I mention the WiFi? Most places advertise WiFi and your lucky if you can check your email. The WiFi here actually works at high speed. Netfix Showtime and I can chrome my shows from my phone. My direct tv sat worked perfectly. The bathrooms were clean. DO NOT be afraid of Serra Meadows. It truly is a very nice campground. If we ever come back to Yosemite, this is where we're camping. One more thing. There are acres and acres to hike if you'd like to. And that's all I have to say about that! We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Interesting rv park. As others have said a quick uphill climb and then about a mile drive to the park.

Park was clean, did need a few few trees trimmed but overall a quiet place with golf course nearby.

We will be back. We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

We do not recommend you stay here. The 1.5 mile entrance road is filled with tight turns. Two of them had signs recommending just 10 MPH! The first quarter mile of the entrance road is an incredible 8 percent uphill grade. Very difficult to get into golf course club house parking lot to register. You must reverse course to get back to the actual RV park. Roads in the campground are narrow. Over half of the park was inaccessible due to narrow roads, tight turns and trees right up against the road. Half the accessible pads had a steep section at beginning or end of the slot which would make it very easy to scrape the back of your RV. Only three other RVs there when we arrived. We now know why. Unless you have an overpowered engine and are a risk-taker, avoid this site! We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is over priced for what it is. Very tight, unlevel sites. Grass stickers everywhere get in your feet and dogs . The worst is the road going in very steep and curvy. The motor home can drag on some. I would not stay there again. We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Keep looking. Road to campground is not good. Lots of sharp turns and hairpins. You have to go past the campground to the golf pro shop to check in. When we called about 30 minutes out they didn't bother to tell us that. The drive into the campground is narrow and requires a very careful turn. Have to make 3 (or more) point turn to get to first row. Pads are crumbling asphalt. Site is dirt. No where near level. Doubt you will be able to level even with pads. No TV. We asked for a site that would allow us to use our dish. Host didn't have a clue as to which ones would. We finally got it to work. Glad we unhooked at golf parking lot, would have been near impossible to find a level spot in campground to unhook. Grossly over priced for what little they have to offer. As I said, keep looking. In 4 years this campground ranks in the top 5 of the worst ones we have stayed in. We would Not stay here again. We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

There aren't many options for staying outside Yosemite. While this park is not visually the most appealing, it has everything we need including full hookups and Wi-Fi access. Both our satellite and AT&T cell phones works great. The park is three miles off Rt. 41, is across from the golf course, has lots of shade, and is very quiet. We were given a 10% discount and were charged $110 for three nights. The road to the park is steep and winding, but we managed fine in a 35' RV with tow. I would stay here again. We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 4 nights in a 40' motorhome. The park is big rig friendly once you get there, but the road that leads there from the highway has a couple of 20 mile an hour turns that are ok if you take them slowly. The camp host was very helpful by offering advice and a choice of spaces then guided me to the spot in his golfcart. There is decent Internet and a weak ATT cell signal. The laundry facility was clean and inexpensive, so we caught up doing several loads (we live full time in our motorhome). There are amenities at the golf club for an additional fee including pool and golf, etc., but we did not use them. We visited Yosemite 2 days while staying here and the drive was about 20 to 30 minutes away. My only negative if you could call it that was that when we made our reservation we did not receive an email confirming it and had to follow up with them (as it turns out they never fill up so they said they are a bit lax - I had been worried because this was Memorial Day weekend). We would stay there again. We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here while visiting Yosemite. Paved, level sites with good shade available. A bit out of the way, but was quiet. Wi-Fi worked reasonably well. Host was helpful. Laundry facilities very neat and clean. Other than the winding couple mile road necessary to get there from the main highway, this was a nice place to stay. It was a great base camp for Yosemite. We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is off the beaten track but worth stopping at. The only strange thing is that you have to register down the road at the golf club and not actually on the site. We park was nearly empty and we could choose any space. If it was full, then I think the pitches are probably quite close together. There is a horseshoe pit, volleyball court and a good children's play area. The bathrooms were excellent. The best we visited on our travels around California. Nice & quiet! What a treat. My first "10". Located about 5 miles from Oakhurst, which has a nice selection of restaurants and shopping (Much better than Mariposa). Most sites are shaded by mature trees and have ample grass medians between them. Overlooks the golf course and the foothills. The roads and sites are all paved. Tight roads coming in from Route 49 and they warn against rigs over 40 feet, but I had no trouble with a 38 foot motorhome. Rates are better than reasonable. For additional twenty dollars a day you can access swimming pool, fitness center, and tennis courts at the golf center. We stayed a week and paid $205 plus tax with Good Sam discount for a 50 amp. Full hook-ups on a back-in site. No cable, no broadcast reception. Would probably need a portable dish because of trees at most sites. We camped at Sierra Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.
