We had site #30 which is one of the pull-thru sites towards the back of the park. It was compacted gravel ... level and fairly quiet even with the nearby the cabins. We were escorted to our site once we checked in. Hookups worked well. WiFi signal was strong but speed slow. Typical campground wifi. Overall a nice play to stay late in the fall. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Murphy's is a short 15-minute drive for small-town shopping. There are also a handful of wineries. Big Trees State Park in Arnold is about 45 minutes away.

Great park. Advertised as having level pull-thru sites, but it seems we were assigned the only non-level pull-thru site which created leveling problems for our 40'+ MH. The site was sloped excessively side to side, which also made for uncomfortable seating outside. Not worth moving as we were only there a few days. Sites are terraced and separated from each other usually by vegetation. Facility was very clean and well maintained. We stayed on the "back side" of the park and except for the one night music festival at the nearby fairgrounds (all over by 10pm), nights were very peaceful. We'll be back again. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

With any kind of RV, I recommend approaching from the north, as Hwy 49 from the south is a bit challenging (especially south of Columbia)

Liked this park. Site we were in was separated some from others by landscaping. Sites in other areas of the park were closer together. Place was quiet and clean, minimal road noise from highway. Say 'Hi' to the emu... We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Road from Angels Camp (town) to campground was up, down and twisty, much more fun to drive in our Mustang than the MH. However, it was freshly paved and smooth. Town looked like fun but we didn't go in except for errands. Food at Rod's Grille is good but a little pricey.

I work while traveling so I need good internet. Park WIFI was not good in the corner we were in and my Verizon Hotspot was mediocre. Staff said they had good internet at the meeting room in the office, but I did not use it. The sight we had was a back in site in the far corner. Nice site with some trees. Level and the utilities were within easy reach. We were short a table but a call to the office brought an immediate response and a table. Staff was friendly, site was level gravel, neighbors were great. Hard to beat that. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

We had a pull-though site which was roomy enough for our rig, all four slides and the tow vehicle. There was really nice "front porch area" space with a picnic table and a fire ring. It was all gravel. We were in site #30 and we happened to be there during the week so the park was relatively empty. While we really enjoyed this site it was right across from the playground and group dining area. It just so happened no one was in the site next to us. Tent camping was directly in front of us and the cabins were directly behind us. We suspected this site would have been very loud and busy on a weekend. But for our stay it was fantastic. There is another entire area (maybe for longer stays or full time living) which is on the front - lower half of the park and far from the main activities area. The park was laid out well and has a good sized pool area and the playground was very nice, lots of fun for kids and a great place for families and pets! The office staff was very nice and efficient. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We drove into Columbia and walked for a few hours through the historic state park. Be sure to stop in the saloon for a cold one! Local beers as well as sarsaparilla on tap! Close by is also Sonora with beautiful architecture and shops. If you are looking for a great lunch visit "Mi Pueblo" on Washington Street. (in Sonora) You can eat a delicious lunch outside on the patio and watch the creek flowing by.

We are happy you chose to spend some time with us, but are sorry about the pool. We had a pump go down and being a holiday, had to wait to get the part. Without the pump, we legally had to close the pool. We apologize for the inconvenience and rest assured, we were as unhappy as any guest over the problem! Please visit us again.

We stayed one week and enjoyed the campground's quiet space. The site is well managed and maintained. Our space had a lovely large tree for shade, a picnic table and fire ring. The best part was the pet emu! We had difficulty getting our coach level. I will go back. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Campground was fine. Looks like it had been taken over and upgrades were in progress. We appreciate seeing campgrounds that are in good shape and are well maintained. Sites were level despite being on the side of a hill. It was not a problem other that being a little tight at the site. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

What a lovely RV park in the beautiful foothills of Calaveras County. We came up for the Bones and Blues Festival and enjoyed our relaxing stay. Big Bird, the park Emu is a neat attraction. We recently stayed here, we were in a 37' fifth wheel with 3 slides.

Reservation process worked smoothly. We arrived during their lunch hour, and the office closes during lunch. But they had our information posted right on the front door.

Location was easy to find, but if you are driving a larger unit, roads are very curvy and narrow. Postings on the road that units over a certain size aren't advised on the roads.

Our site was great, very private, fairly level. Water, electricity, and sewer all worked ok. Our particular site had large flowering trees around it, which were great for privacy, but also seemed to attract many, many bees. No big deal for us, but if you a concern about bees, you may want to note that when you make your reservations.

Even though the RV park is closed to the highway, we didn't seem to hear any road noise.

There is a pool on site, small but adequate for a quick dip. No hot tub.

We didn't use the wi-fi very much, but had ok reception with our AT&T cell phones.

Many attractions in the area, including caves, state parks, and many wineries. Also, if you are up for a long day trip, can get to the west entrance of Yosemite.

Bathrooms were ok, nothing special, but they were clean. It does seem to be an older park, roads are narrower, but the privacy of many of the sites can't be beat. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is cut into a steep hillside. After some rather interesting interior roads, we were escorted to a level pull through site with moderate afternoon shade. Utilities worked well and Wi-Fi was strong. A good overnight stop. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed with our camping club and were very impressed by the park. It's maintained well, the office staff was super friendly and helpful and the park staff escorting us to the site were great. Water pressure and taste were good and the 50 amp pedestal was well placed. Park staff offered us a 50-30 adapter for our use there when we checked in and instead of digging for mine, I accepted with no charge. WiFi was free and worked well for us and the park was calm and quiet for the weekend. This is a nice place to stay. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Sites are a bit close together, and due to drought it was rather dusty. Owners are wonderful and have worked to make the camp attractive with things to do. They have a huge dog park and a nice outdoor kitchen/pavilion. Wifi was slow. We are traveling with a tour group so didn't make arrangements or pay for the camping directly. This is a fairly large RV park which also has nice tent sites available. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The are a Good Sam park. There are fire pits at each site. A lot of the sites are not very wide and don't provide a lot of outside area. They are mostly gravel and dirt. It rained while we were there and got pretty muddy. They charge $5 extra per dog (per stay) and have a large dog run area that is dirt. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
