Funny to rate a park a 9 and then cite so many flaws, but you are backed in about 100 feet from the ocean and that's what it's all about. The sites are slightly unlevel and you need at least two sewer hoses if you have a motorhome. Site was full of weeds and the road in is long overdue for a repave. None of it mattered when we were sitting around the camp fire watching the waves! We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

Whale watching from Moss Landing about twenty miles away. Saw a whale feeding frenzy with 14 whales and abundant other wildlife; activity was literally surrounding our boat. 17 mile drive in Monterey and Carmel Beach.

Sea Cliff is a State owned/ran RV camping and day use area. We were in the full hook up area at the far north end of the park, and there are 3 dry camp lots, A,B and C as well. The dry camp spots are pretty much asphalt parking area with lines painted on the ground for your site. They were approximately 27X60'. The full hook up sites are narrow long sites with each one having 6" raised curb planters on each side. Unfortunately the planters were sand, and grassy weeds that were in dire need of cutting. The FHU sites had a heavy duty picnic table and raised fire pit at the front of the site. The sewer hook up was at the back of the sites, so bring lots of sewer hose. They are approximately 39X56'. Each site backs up to a public walkway that is about 8' wide and runs the length of the beach. On the other side of the walkway is the sand and the waves. On the front side of the sites is the road, and a embankment that's about 100+ feet tall. It used to be that there was zero cell signal in the camping area, but there is usable signal now probably from added cell towers in the area. The FHU sites are 30 amp only, but with a little conservation the 30 amp was not an issue. I love the relation of the sites to the beach, but the overall park is in dire need of maintenance. There is much weeding that needs to be done, the entrance road in front of the sites which is up against the embankment is over grown with trees and shrubs, and several large pot holes need filling in the road. The restrooms are typical for a public beach location, block walls and sparse on the inside. They are handicapped accessible, but there are NO hot showers available. Only cold water outdoor showers. Another point to keep in mind, they had me read and sign a small slip of paper upon checking in that advised among other things that there was a theft alert as chained generators and ice chests have been stolen. I very much like RVing at the beach, but as you can see there are trade offs. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

Great location. We dropped in on a sunday and they pulled names at random to fill the few locations that had hookups. we got lucky but declined since it was only good for one day. we stayed 3 days in a dry spot. there were plenty of those. there is only a $10/day difference for hookups. I think $20 discount for a dry spot would be more appropriate. a toilet "only" bathroom was close by but it became locked on the 2nd day. the next one was a bit of a hike. they were moderately clean...not too impressive. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Travel Trailer.

This is the most beautiful park, the ocean right at your doorstep, but the upkeep is poor. Weeds and sand everywhere around the campsites; the fencing is in a terrible state of dis-repair. It's very difficult to get reservations. The auctioning of spaces is a poor process, it should be first come, first served. The gift shop doesn't change their product enough, and have few sizes in each style of clothing. We love this place, and sometimes we tolerate these issues because it's worth it, but how wonderful it would be if they would maintain the park. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

If you want a park with lots of room between spaces, secluded and private, this is not for you. The sites are close together with basically a sand pit between sites that are within 10 feet of each other and with people walking by your site all day, you probably should look elsewhere. However, if you want a great view of the ocean (OK nearly on the ocean), conversation with all that pass, and being close to everything, then you might want to come here. We like that and found it great and will come back. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

Seaside golf course for a public course is very good. Of course Seaside is not actually on the ocean, but it sounds good.

This is a relatively expensive park to stay at, but what a location! I have only managed to secure the overflow section, but the side by side slots are wide enough for slideouts, and your table, chairs and fire ring. Meanwhile, you are sitting right at the ocean, kids are on the beach playing, and there is great people watching as lots of walkers and joggers use the board walk in front of your RV. Nice little museum on site, restrooms are heavily used, but at least available, and as clean as you might find at a sandy beach....and the sunsets are beautiful! If you are looking for a secluded beach spot, this is not the place. But I love visiting here, I just adjust my expectations accordingly! We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

Even though this camping spot is down at the beach, you can walk up to Aptos easily for groceries, coffee, ice cream, shopping and restaurants. So this is a great location for all other amenities. Also there is a kids park just up the road.

Sites are very close together. I will only do full hookups to avoid generators noise. The park is as good as your neighbors. Sites are very close. If neighbor has a fire - you get to breath the smoke. If neighbor talks loud, you get to hear every word of it. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Travel Trailer.

This is a wonderful California State beach campground. We have stayed in campgrounds across the country, and California Beaches are among the most beautiful. They are also among the most popular, hence the need for reservations! If you show up without a reservation, you take your chances. The sites are asphalt with grass between them, and the full hook up sites are great. The beach is close and the crashing waves are awesome. Cell signal is sketchy in the campground due to the tall cliffs behind the campground. Our Verizon air card worked well, but I had to go up to the parking lot for reliable phone signal. I will stay here again. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

This is the worst of the worst. No reservations so I was put in overflow. Just a black top parking lot. No water, table, shade or anything. All this for $58. I left and got a refund. As a lifelong resident of California, I am ashamed of our park system. Having traveled through many states, I can tell you California Parks are at the bottom of the heap, and the most expensive. We love love love Sea Cliff SB. It's very stressful trying to get a reservation the first day of each month. But we give it the old college try each month and are able to get in 4 times a year. We love watching everyone walking by all day. You are literally steps from the beach. The waves are so wonderful to listen to at night. You can't go wrong here. Good luck getting a reservation though. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

Check in was quick and friendly. We were in the overflow section which is just a parking lot but we knew that going in. Spaces were wide and long enough for us. We did not feel cramped. The camp host was friendly and helpful. The location is what attracted us and brought us back. We were here about 4 years ago. We were disappointed in the level of service though. There are no sinks in the bathrooms and half of them have been closed due to budget cuts. Garbage pick up must be limited too as the bins were full. The place no longer has the atmosphere that we found before. The dump station is closed (we had to drive a couple of miles to the next State Park to dump). I doubt if we will be back. We paid $55.00 to stay in a bare parking lot with limited service. The Parks Department needs to shake their heads. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

We love this campground. The spots are good size with plenty of room for tow vehicle and trailer. No shade or trees, but who needs that when your on the beach. The sites are ocean front with full hook-ups. It's very difficult to get reservations but well worth the effort. I would camp here again and again. What a dump! Basically a parking lot next to a dirty beach. We had a self contained space for $55 as there were no hooks ups available. You reverse into a lined off space (nice and wide and long). There is a public running/walking path right in front of the lots. We hadn't even set up the RV when we had to ask a lady to remove her dog's waste from next to the camper where she had let it do its affairs. Three dogs deposited within a couple of feet from our RV over the course of the evening, with 2 of the three owners clearing without being asked. But even so, parking near a local dog latrine is not very pleasant. The toilets were so dirty that we would not use them, and the same goes for the the shower. People we met in Las Vegas raved about the spot. So maybe we are too fussy for a dirty, dog latrine area on a stinky beach. Cannot recommend and would not use again. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

The most beautiful spot we've camped at! Back in sites right on the beach with full hookups. It was very quiet, and each site has a sandy "yard" with picnic table. The one-mile boardwalk is in front of the sites. We stayed 3 nights and wished it were longer. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.

We visit this park every year and have loved it. This year it seems to have gone downhill as far as cleanliness and quality of campers. There were doggy piles all over the place, cigarette butts, trash, broken glass and etc. The spaces are tight and close together, which in the past has never been a problem. However, the park is now overrun with rude, cigar-smoking, table-banging, beer-drinking, loud-talking at 6am, parking-their-car-in-front-of-other-camper's-spaces people whose dogs are out-of-control with aggressive behavior and excessive barking. All this made the close quarters nearly unbearable. One guy was even forging metal in his fire pit and clanging away all day with a hammer like the beach was his personal blacksmith shop. It was so loud it echoed up and down the beach, let alone what it must have been like for those in the spaces right next door! The civility and common courtesy that used to exist here is gone. Too bad because it is a great location and the proximity to the beach cannot be beat and the hosts and rangers are always very nice. We camped at Seacliff State Beach in a Motorhome.
