This is an older RV site, but the owners/managers keep it very clean and tidy. The showers have good pressure and the water is nice and hot.

WiFi is available through a 3rd party and is quite acceptable for speed and price.

We have seen a lot of very large rigs go through here, and although there are not a lot of 'pull-through' sites, the owners/managers take great pains to ensure you are tucked in nicely, with good clearance on your slides, and even lining you up so your steps land on your concrete pad.

Just off the old Highway 58, don't be concerned about the traffic noise, you seldom here any as Highway 15 has taken the bulk of traffic in the area.

We will definitely stay here again if we pass through Barstow. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Barstow is a great little town, rich in history and geological features. Part of Route 66, there are museums that reflect that. Although a little depressed, the people here are very friendly.

In spite of a slightly faded look, this is a really nice RV park! The bathrooms are immaculate and the property is very well maintained. Barstow has always been a camping problem for us, but no longer...

We camp in a small Airstream, but big rigs had no problem navigating the site. The pads are flat and gravelly.with a cement pad for tables, etc. The sites aren't wide, but there is room enough. We were next to a 40' RV that had no problem getting in and out. A charming place with very nice managers. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Travel Trailer.

The people who run this park are friendly and helpful! This park is clean and well-maintained, in spite of its age. Sites are on gravel/dirt with a small concrete pad at the side, with a picnic table. Plenty of trees for shade. Cable is free, WiFi is available at an extra cost. They do not accept credit cards - cash or personal check only. Would definitely stay here again! We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great overnight stop. It's is old school: call for a reservation and they hold the site w/o credit card. Upon arrival they lead you to your site, and direct you into the site. After you hook up and you approve of the site then you go to the office to pay. Cash or checks only. 30 or 50 Amps are different price, we paid for 50, with GS and paid 39 bucks. Owner was a wealth of info about the area and best routes to your next destination. Water, electric, cable and sewer ok. We did not use the bath house and we camped in a Motorhome. There are some long term people here in a separate area but they are quiet and neat. We will stay here again as we pass through. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Beware that this is a 40 year old RV park. The price reflects that. It has been in the family all that time. That said, the owners have excellent customer service and make sure you are comfortable and satisfied. This is a popular stop heading to Las Vegas.

The sites are dirt with a tree and picnic table at each. There is cable TV but no WiFi. You can get it commercially for $5.00 per day. Bathrooms are old but clean. Laundry is very large and clean.

We asked for a pull thru but those were full so we got a back-in. We were guided in perfectly and given instructions on hook-ups and location of facilities.

Overall I gave this a great rating because of the customer service. The owners really appreciate your business and it is great for a stopover. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Consider this park on the way to Zoe from a Vegas. Best customer service I have seen so far. Cash or check only; no credit. Owners invited us to use their car if we wanted to go into town to eat or shop.

Our GPS took us right here. We have the Rand McNalley one and it was right on.

Nice people to deal with.

Led us to our site which was close to another one but no problem getting in our site. Took our 40ft mh and connected toad no problem.

Dirt but clean.

Low rent neighborhood so wife didn't walk around here.

Would stay here again when passing through.

Oh, make a reservation if staying here. We did and good thing we did as it was full by 9PM. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Great place for an overnight stay. Staff is great! Even though we had enough room to stay, we unhooked and went into town, about 5 miles.

Don't follow your GPS. When you call to make your reservation they will tell you how to get there to avoid all the construction. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great overnight stop. The owners/managers are extremely friendly and very helpful. They did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable including a map to local amenities and an easy way to get on I-40. The park was very quiet, as it's away from the freeway about a mile but a bit dusty....but then it's the desert. We would not hesitate to stay here again for an overnight stop. Don't be fooled by the long term resident area to the right of the office. Transient sites are up the hill (sharp turn) to the left and are completely away from the semi-permanent portion. Our site was a paved, level pull-through with full hookups. Some shade trees, although we caught full afternoon sun (at 114 degrees) on the refrigerator side of the trailer. Water services had been recently replaced and pavement repairs were not complete, but that did not impede setting up.

We would stay here for an overnight again. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a gem because of great service and the cleanest restrooms and showers you'll find anywhere.
A first impression upon arrival is that it is an old a tired park. Older yes, tired not. As others have said the greeting upon arrival is unexcelled and you only go back to the office and pay when you are satisfied with your spot and everything is hooked up.
While in an older building, the showers and restrooms are spotless.
Our pad was level gravel with nice shade trees.

A very good choice in Barstow. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Travel Trailer.

This is not the most scenic place, but what is in Barstow. It's perfect for an overnight stay; close to the highway and old part of town's restaurants and services. The staff is the best. They took me for a ride in the golf cart and let me choose a site and then followed to help me park. I had trouble hooking up the cable tv, so he lent me his cable and then programmed my tv to get all the channels. Can't beat that service. Will definitely stop on our return trip. We stayed at Shady Lane passing through both ways. There are not many choices for full hook up in a quiet neighborhood. The neighborhood has seen better times.
The office was very accommodating by escorting us to our site, this is a cash only place. They even give you directions to get back on I40 the easy way. They do get rather cranky if you don't call and let them know if you are running behind on your arrival time. This is an older property, but the bathrooms were clean and they have someone raking the driveways and sites every day. We stayed here for an overnighter while traveling between Merced, Ca and Arizona. It is a decent park for a night or two and close enough to Highway 58 and 40. The two brothers who own and manage the park are kind and very helpful. We have a large rig and they were very accommodating. All of the hookups were convenient. The site was dirt which is typical for the desert and could be very messy of it rained so be prepared. Luckily, we had dry, cool weather in the Spring. We would stay here again. This is a tired CG that's run by the second generation; it's currently for sale and it appears no money has been put into it recently. The staff is quite friendly, particularly the lady who works in the office and the maintenance guy who takes great pride in raking the dirt every day, but one of the owners smokes constantly and everywhere and it's a little foul. CG hosts mostly permanent residents; we were put next to a Cat Lady who also loves to feed birds on her picnic table; she gave us some good laughs as we watched her from our windows. The bathrooms and laundry room were very clean, but very dated. Like the terrain all around here, the CG was all dirt, and a wind storm left our rig absolutely filthy, both inside (it seeped in thru the window drains) and out. The old trees were pretty, though. All this said, this is a satisfactory place for an overnight stay. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Motorhome.

A good place to spend a night, but that's it. We called ahead to be sure they could accommodate a 43' coach, and despite the sign at the entrance claiming a 36' limit we were able to fit into site #1 with the assistance of the very able manager. I think we could have also fit into site 2, but that's it. As it was, our slides hit the bushes between sites.

Sites are all dirt, so I wouldn't go here in the rain, it would be a quagmire. The park is far enough off of I-15 to be quiet. There is no good place to walk dogs. Cable TV worked. We camped at Shady Lane RV Camp in a Motorhome.

Call ahead. The park is small, there are a number of full time residents and there is no overflow area. Big rigs take note: you will have some tree branch issues because the roads are pretty tight. There are no nearby services.
