Great RV resort. Plenty of shade trees and beautiful park to walk your dog. Slabs are a little tight and many slabs are broken. Overall with a little tlc, this resort could be a 10. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Pros: The park is clean. The interior roads are good. There are trees near many sites. The sites around the perimeter of the park have a little more room between you and your neighbors than those in the interior roads. There is a lovely small grassy area with a bubbling brook at the front of the park. There is a small concrete pad with a nice picnic table on it. Amenities include a fish cleaning station, a small clubhouse room, and laundry. The Cons: The cons however, overrode many of the pros. The sites overall are very, very cramped - it felt like camping in an RV storage area. The size of the first site we were assigned was way too small for our tip-outs and awning even though we provided size information when we made our reservation. The cable was not working. The WiFi was so slow as to be useless. While there was a posted rule that no more than 2 vehicles could be parked in each space, we felt even more crowded as our neighbors had three vehicles for both of the days were were here. For the price, we would generally expect to see a playground, dog walk area, pool, and hot tub. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bishop Transit Authority runs a Dial A Ride service for all to use. They will come to the front entrance of the park for pick up and drop off. Cost is $2.40 for age 60+ A "Must-Do" is the Laws Railroad Museum. It is 11 acres of old trains, wagons, steam equipment, antiques, buildings that house antique medical offices, railroad agent's home, telegraph office, general store, blacksmith's shop, wagon shop, ore refinery, and much more. We spent 2 hours there and could have easily stayed longer.

Sites are very close, you will not be opening a patio awning. Good utilities but as mentioned the septic and fresh water are next to each other. Very friendly staff and good location to tour the area from. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is the second time we have stayed here, first time was last month. The sites are mostly level pull thru. Each site has a nice picnic table and most have a tree. The park is very well maintained and the restrooms were sparkling clean. Wifi worked good as did cable tv. Office is closed Sun/Mon but they have self check in instructions with wifi and bathroom codes. We love this park and can't wait to stay here again. Also casino within walking distance. Made a reservation in advance, but wasn't told no one would be in the office upon our arrival. We found our site, but didn't know the bathroom code, or the wifi code. Attempted to call the office, but the recording said no one was there, wouldn't be there for the next 2 days and not to leave a message.

In other words, if you need anything, you are out of luck. I was able to get the bathroom code from another camper. The bathroom was filthy, garbage cans overflowing, floors and toilets in need of cleaning. No receipt available for staying there. Site was level and plenty of space for a 26 foot RV.

So if you want a basic place to stay that is reasonably clean, pick another location. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here one night on our way through town. There was no one working so we found a spot and pulled in. Sites are not very long; tow car barely fit in. Site was not level; front wheels were way off the ground. Sites are very close together. Wi-fi was good. Didn't even go in the restrooms or laundry room. Garbage dumpster was VERY full. I think we'd try a different park if we came through Bishop again. We do love the town itself. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Motorhome.

We ate at the Mexican Restaurant across the street that had a bakery name. We had eaten here a couple of years ago and enjoyed the owner and his food. But this time..... food was not so good. Owners are delightful people but we won't be eating here again.

This is a great campground in Bishop. We have stayed at the Highlands a few of times on the way home to Los Angeles and on our way to Reno. Nice level spaces, lots of trees, great staff, clean bathrooms and showers, and nice views. If we ever decide to stay a few days in Bishop, we will definitely stay at the Highlands. Very convenient and easy to find RV park just north of the fairgrounds on Hwy 395. Quick and pleasant check in as staff is very helpful and friendly. Large and clean laundry and restrooms located at entrance in the office building. Plenty of tv channels and very good wifi. Great park to use as a base camp to explore the whole area. Bishop has all the shopping and restaurants one could want. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is an attractive park in a town where there doesn't seem to be a lot of nice choices. The sites are very close together, otherwise fine. The grounds were very clean and well kept with a nice area of grass for dog walking and a little pond by the road. This was a quick overnight for us so didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment. At $39 (Good Sam) it seems a bit high, but that probably reflects the lack of competition and the popularity of the area. I suggest reservations, I called a day early and got the last site available. I would stay again. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Truck Camper.

This is a really nice campground. Only thing negative is how narrow the sites are. There is space between the sites, but the asphalt is quite narrow, so parking must be precise if you want to be level. Once you've got that down, it it okay. Turns are tight, too, but the place is full of huge rigs, so they all figure it out somehow. Clean and neat. Busy, too. Big laundry and ice machine. Can't complain. Rates are reasonable for location and time of year. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Many people in the big rigs parked their toads someplace else. We fit with our truck and 5th wheel, so I don't know where they all went to park, but most of the biggies parked toads elsewhere. Lots to do and see around here.

A newer well maintained and obviously popular park located just north of Bishop, CA. No Sprint telephone service. Other phone services seem to be OK. Free and strong internet. All facilities clean. Friendly Staff. Appears to be a destination park for hikers, 4-wheelers, fishermen and other outdoor enthusiasts. Located just outside the city limits. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was a quick in and out, overnight stay, and I will definitely be back. This will be a great home base to explore the upper Owens Valley. Only drawback is the wifi is a little slow, but I am used to high speed cable. I can live with that. Lots to do on day trips around the area most of the year. Tips for other Campers:

Bridgeport (fishing), Mammoth Lakes and Devils Postpile, June Lake, Mono Lake, Tuolumne Meadows, Bodie Ghost Town, all to the north; east is White Mountains and ancient Bristlecone Pine forest, west is the eastern Sierra Front, including Mt Whitney from Lone Pine, Manzanar Historic site is south as is the north approach to Death Valley. In town don't miss Schat's Bakery.

The staff is very friendly. While the sites are pretty tight we had no problem getting in with our toad attached. The cable and WiFi work well as do the power and water. The park is one of the cleanest we have experienced. There are lots of mature shade trees that are pruned well. We camped at Highlands RV Park in a Motorhome.
