Scenic nice county park full of snowbirds when we were there but everybody friendly and helpful. People just kind of parked on the grass under the trees near water and electricity. No sewer but convenient dump. We did not use the bathroom but they looked new and clean. Enjoyed sitting and watching river lumber by. I don't know about TV or WiFi. I don't think there is any but Tmobile hot spot worked fine. When I called for reservations for winter week day I was told "don't make reservations they have room". They do not have pull through sites but we kind of just pulled around and never disconnected the towed. We are only 31 feet so that was ok. Larger rigs will need a lot more planning. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It is best to stop and walk the RV area before you decide where to pull up your rig. Roads seem a little haphazard but you can pick out your own site then go back to the office and register. There is a private campground almost adjacent to Mayflower that was pricier but probably more suitable for large rigs.

Very nice little park. Clean and maintained. Popular with snowbirds. Very quiet during the time we stayed - just one night for a stop over. RV sites are all grass with several tree's spaced apart for shade. We reserved online without knowing what to expect and thought our site was riverfront, but in fact ALL riverfront sites are dry camping for smaller/tent (no generators allowed in the park) but walking distance to the river with a launch ramp. The staff was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. Other campers were friendly as well. Easy to back in to sites. We are 37' with a toad and had no issues at all. We'd definitely stay here again We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We spent a month here, and the park is beautiful. The price is nice, $300 for the month, electricity included. They do not have sewer hookups, but pump you 3 times a week--and that is included in the price. The staff is wonderful, and will help you with anything you need to know. The Colorado River is right there, with birds to see, and the water goes up and down depending on what is going on at the dam farther up the road that they are working on. There were 3 things we didn't like about the park. The top of the list is the dog poop all over the place. A lot of people there do not clean up after their dogs. Dog poop was EVERYWHERE. We watched the owners take their dogs just to the outside of the park on the north side, so they wouldn't have to pick it up, but inside the park they had a lot of dog owners that stay there for the winter who never cleaned up after their pets. They weren't weekend people neither, but there for the winter. A lot of people took their dogs to empty lots, looked around to see who was watching, then walked off. We saw some owners cleaning up. It's the few that don't that ruin it for others. We just don't like that much dog poo any place we go. The other thing we didn't like was the water. We've been in places where its bad, but this place had the worst. We have water streaks in our toilet bowl now we are trying to remove, but the water is loaded with sediment. They put a new well in about a year ago we were told. Don't stay without a filter, and have an extra one on hand. Ours lasted 10 days. It was a cheapy tho. We ended up buying a whole house filter and that was filthy when we left. Fuel is cheaper in AZ. Blythe only has 2 grocery stores. Albertsons, and Smart N Final. Both cost a lot, but Smart N Final is the cheaper one. Laundromats in Blythe are dirty. They are in Quartsite too so you have to just bite the bullet when doing laundry. You won't find anything cheaper to stay at than here in that area. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Most of the sites are back in but very spacious. Plenty of room to park if you choose the right spot. It's shaded in there, and well worth going to. Like I said--my only two gripes were too much dog poop as its not enforced, and the water is bad. I wish when people checked into ANY park, that 1 or 2 dog bags were handed to owners and told "Here's to start you out--if you need more come back"--that's a subtle way of saying clean up after your dog. Some parks do that to make dog owners think.

Overall Rating:

This is an excellent park with huge spaces and a great park to roam with the dogs. The views are spectacular; try to get a spot on the outer rim. The river runs alongside the park. It is super quiet, too. The wi-fi is usually awful -- strong enough all over but hit and miss because too many people are using it at the same time. We have stayed at Mayflower many times. It is a frequent hub for snowbirders who stay for months at a time. There is a discount for a weekly stay and an enormous discount for monthly stays. There are no sewer hookups but the county has a crew of four (!) come by 3 times a week to pump your RV tanks. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rate reflects Passport America. Main interior road is paved, roads to sites are grass/dirt, sites are narrow, short and unlevel grass. Park was all but empty, so our overnight in and out was not a problem. Wide open, clean, well maintained campground, adjacent to Colorado River. Utilities worked; no sewer at site - dump station available. Women's toilets were not clean in early morning, but when we checked out, office claimed they had been cleaned just after we attempted to use them. Good park if you want to boat on the river. We would stay again. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects Passport America Discount. We stayed when the park was not very full. If you came here during their peak season sites would be very close together. Campground is on a grassy field and fairly easy to level. Site were not long enough to leave the truck / trailer attached. This was okay for a one night stopover, but would not be my first choice for a longer stay. Verizon, AT&Tm and Sprint all had very weak coverage for data and phone at this park. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

End site with great views. All grass camp area. Weekly and monthly rates excellent. Bumpy interior roads. Passably clean restrooms. Odd dump station, honey wagon weekly. Next year we'll stay for a month. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The rate is for a primitive site. We love to find places like this a few miles off the interstate. Very quiet at night. No generators allowed, we love that concept. Airplane noise as of 6:30 in the morning. Most dry camping sites are for smaller RVs except for #1 and #10, which are easy to back in to. However, watch out for some bent trees when making your turns inside the park. There was a picnic table, but no fire pit. Site was about level. Our Verizon worked well. Wi-Fi is offered, but we didn't try. We'll bookmark this park for an overnight stay when traveling again in this area. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a great place to camp. The views are incredible, the entire park is full of trees and somewhat-dead but often-watered lawn (this is in the desert), and it's a wonderful place to go with kids and dogs. Right outside of the park you can take your dogs off-leash to run. We love this park and have discovered that it's even better in the fall as there aren't many people there. In the winter, it's packed with snowbirders who are there for months at a time. While there are no septic hookups, you can pay extra to have your tank pumped 3x a week during weekdays only, or haul it to the septic hookup in the park to empty your tank. Wi-Fi is so-so here; better if you are near the office, but views are better at the opposite end. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We are traveling cross country in a large Motorhome and trying to economize using Passport America parks. We stopped at Hidden Beaches RV Park. It was well advertised. It was $22 a night with the PA discount, but had limited 50 amp service and didn't seem very appealing. We decided to try our luck just down the same street at the state park. They don't honor PA discounts after September 30th, but it was well worth the extra $8.00. The park is hosted by friendly volunteers. It was almost empty, so we were able to pull in an the back end of the park with an unobstructed view of the mountains and Colorado River. It was peaceful and beautiful. A great spot to sit in the sun and read or fly your RC plane. Not sure what it would be like in the summer, but November was spectacular. There is a community dump site as you leave, but power and water were ample. Wi-FI was a free code that was weak, but with so much beauty, who wants to be on the computer? If you want a rustic getaway for a little more money, this fits the bill! We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Motorhome.

Level grass sites, try to avoid the sprinklers. Very quite and serene. Worth the drive off the 10 for an overnight. Office was closed but a lady gave us a Tengo free wifi coupon. We hooked up to power only. Would stay here again We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hot!!! It got to 114 the day we arrived, but was 93 by the time we arrived. Friendly staff, good Wi-Fi, right on the Colorado River. Good power, restrooms so so but clean. Best not to park in the first row as the sprinklers ran all night and passing through the tree branches, plastered our tow vehicle with a sticky, oily residue that took awhile to clear. Overall, a pleasant stay. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunday, April 14 – Mayflower Country Park, Blythe, CA: This is right over the state line from AZ interstate 10 heading west. It cost us $12 with Passport America, but they don’t honor it during the winter months when this park is full. We had a half shade site with water and electric. This park sits on the Colorado River, but it is too dangerous to swim in it and warnings are posted. Check in was efficient and the guy was really nice and informative. There are no reservations; it’s a first come first serve park. Picnic areas are in the park and the bath house serves both those camping and those using the park for the day. The bath house needs to be updated. It is old, used, but it was clean. There is RV storage in the park, lawn bowling, and three loops for camping. We were allowed to pick our own site. On a Sunday night in April less than a third of the sites were taken. Fine for an overnight! We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The rate of 12.50/day reflects the Passport America discount. Sites are spacious but parking is on grass. Driveways are just sand and grass. Some driveways are difficult to get through because of loose sand. The water supply is really gross, as in nothing I could bear to taste. The park is too far from cell towers for reliable service, at least on my Sprint cell. Verizon air card service was weak. The good: the park is in a scenic location on the Colorado River and is a peaceful setting for a relaxing stay. We camped at Mayflower County Park in a Fifth Wheel.
