I'm not sure how this place made it to R V Park Reviews. It is not an RV Park. It is not even BLM property. It is private property owned by the mining company that is no longer working the area. Having said that, this place was perfect for us. We do like to 'Dry Camp". Be aware. There are NO SERVICES. Users of this land respected the spaces. It was not crowded. It was clean. The ground was hard packed sand, flat and level. The scenery is spectacular as it is situated on a bit of a bluff. Nearby Borrego Springs has limited services but enough so you don't have to leave the area to shop. There are lots of BLM areas around but we feel this is the best place to stop. We would return in a heart beat. We camped at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Rockhouse Trail in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You can fill and dump at the State Park for $10.00. Make sure you get a map and visit the sculptures. Citrus Groves aplenty and a few will sell you direct. Lots of Jeep trails. Very quiet location.

Rockhouse Trail (also known as Rockhouse Road) is an area of dispersed camping in Anza-Borrego State Park. This is an easily accessed FREE boondocking area off S22 and about a 15 minute drive into Borrego Springs. If you like desert scenery and a degree of solitude and can do without all the amenities that come with standard campgrounds, this is the place for you. There's room for lots of rigs and you can set up close to a neighbor or far apart, whatever suits you and your neighbor's fancy. Any size rig will do fine here as long as you're careful - some tracks can be sandy. Be aware that there are NO services here, not even trash dumpsters. Come in with a full fresh water tank and empty holding tanks. Be a conscientious camper and pack it in and pack it out. Ground fires are not permitted here, but you can have a fire in a metal container of some sort. We had good cell reception with AT&T. After your stay at Rockhouse you can dump your tanks, fill fresh water and take showers at Palm Canyon Campground near the Visitors Center in the park proper by paying the $10 day use fee. We camped at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Rockhouse Trail in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Enjoy the quiet and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Explore the rest of Anza-Borrego SP and the cute town of Borrego Springs. See the amazing sculptures scattered around the desert and take in the Friday farmers market. The hike to Palm Canyon is moderately challenging but worth it.
