This CG is large, meaning a lot of rowdy children and adults. Staff was very good, CG was clean. Wasn't very happy with the length and width of our space. Did like the grass and shrub at our site.We drove to Surf (west on 246) to the ocean, very nice ride. Also visited Ostrich Land (between CG and Solvang on 246) Solvang, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Lompoc and Gaviota State Park. Lots of wineries and wine tasting in the near by country side. For the children, there is a splash pad and pool. At the office, there is another pool and adult spa. Our site was packed gravel, which was a premium pull thru and not long enough for TT and truck. We made the mistake of staying over the Easter weekend, with tons of speeding, bike riding children and not watching for vehicles. BE VERY CAREFUL. Not a problem of the CG, but it appears they cater to rowdy campers who are very noisy and inconsiderate by cutting thru camp sites. We finally blocked the path with our lawn chairs. We would visit here again, but not on a holiday or regular weekend. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Things I liked: Great staff, they go out of their way to help. The park is walking distance to stores and restaurants and 4 miles to the tourist town of Solvang and 3 more miles past that to the town of Santa Inez. Also relatively close to Santa Barbara and its beaches. It is obvious that the owners have a plan to continuously upgrade the park. Two swimming pools, multiple club houses, small restaurant etc. Things I didn't like: Narrow sites. While many if not most of the sites are pull throughs the site I had was not nearly long enough for me to pull my 38 for motorhome and car through, had I known I would have dropped the car before pulling in. No big deal, but to me a pull through means not having to drop your car unless you want to. Lots of trees so most sites will not get Satellite, but some will and they have plenty of cable channels. Given all they have for an RV park and all they are doing to continuously upgrade they probably deserve a 10, but I personally like nice wide spaces between sites. In the newest section you can most likely get Satellite, but you will also get highway noise. Most sites are hard pack gravel though many are concrete. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Three towns within 7 or 8 miles and several others in 45 minute or less drive. The Danish Village of Solvang is 4 miles easy drive away. The town of Buellton is within walking distance. Santa Barbara is about 40 miles away.

One night stay to break up our trip from central California back to San Diego. We had a pull through site, easy to access and level. The grandchildren enjoyed the water play area and playground; grandma forgot to pack a swim suit so no pool use. There were LOTS of families enjoying the family pool though. Not so great: I realize this campground caters to larger rigs with full hook-ups, but it seems strange that there are only 2 restroom areas (although I think one was under construction/renovation) and only one shower facility. I don't count the outside shower by the family pool. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

When you first check in you are greeted with the most friendliest people and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for everybody in your party. We stayed during Labor Day weekend. It was the hottest ever. The pools were GREAT! Only negative thing we would have to say is the pool hours are from 9am-10pm and people got in somehow and held cabanas at 7am. The cabanas are first come first serve which is fine, but we feel you should be there using your cabana. We enjoyed the tri-tip dinner with wonderful sides. Potato Salad was the BEST ever! Every night we walked to the little restaurant and got ice cream sandwiches with their homemade cookies. Our site was nice and level. The grass is soft and green. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

It has been about 4 years since we last visited Flying Flags. I was amazed to see the wonderful improvements the new ownership has made. Many more sites with concrete pads, a LOT of cabanas/cabins, cottages and more. First class improvements... added a second swimming pool, bocce courts, a couple of on-site bars and so much more. The staff greeted us with BIG smiles and were very helpful. Drawbacks for us were even though we were in the new section, the pads were still fairly narrow and with 4 slides, I found myself ducking to get around the picnic table and under my slide. There wasn't any room for our patio chairs except right next to our motorhome. There was no close trash enclosure or site pickup, so you have to walk about 100+ yards to get rid of the trash. Please, don't get me wrong, Flying Flags is a great RV park and I encourage you to go and experience it for yourselves. It's a step up from other parks you have visited! Stayed at Flying Flags for 2 nights. This park is beautiful, lots of shade trees and well groomed sites. There are two pools, one with a splash park. There is a small restaurant, expensive but very good food. Wish it stayed open a little later at night (closes at 8). Would have given Flying Flags a 10 but the WIFI was terrible. We enjoyed our stay very much and will go back. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We loved this park! It was quite expensive on the summer weekends but only $65 during the week. Our site was nice with good spacing, grass and each site had a large tree. Some of the other reviews seemed to recommend the new section but after driving through, there was no shade, the grass was a little burnt out and didn't seem as nice but the pads were all concrete there and clean. We ended up in site 330 which was fantastic even though it was gravel. Very close to both pools. There is so much to do at this park. Friday night had a BBQ and live music with one man playing guitar - quite good. We sat in the large patio area that had comfortable cushioned patio furniture and a large circular gas firepit. Saturday night was a band. Both pools are fantastic. There are areas for games such as bocce ball, volleyball, etc, but we didn't even get to these as we were so busy having fun in the other areas. There is a nice off-leash dog park, one of the best I've seen at an RV park. There are some full-timers here too but they seem to be on one side of the park and didn't detract from the rest of the park. One of the pools had fountains, a playground and is very good for the kids. The other one seemed to be geared more toward the adults with (free) cabanas and both an outdoor and adult-only indoor gazebo hot tub spa. They provide a large selection of free dvd's - 2 at a time, have a large store and cafe with espresso and ice cream on site. We will definitely plan another vacation here again! We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

So much to do at this resort, but if you venture out there is Solvang which is fantastic for breakfast. Just 5 or 6 miles down the road to Solvang and just a short drive to Santa Barbara and the beaches. We went to Paula's Pancake House and had the danish pancakes which were excellent. The Solvang Restaurant has ebelskivers which are fun to try. Santa Barbara is approx 45 minutes away and has several dog beaches. Our favorite was Arroyo Burro Beach County Park. It even has a dog wash for $10 to clean your dog after swimming.

We have stayed here many times in the past and really love the newly developed sites at the back of the park. They are large and spacious and well designed to accommodate the larger rigs of today. My only complaint is that you must be careful when booking over the internet as the photos of the sites don't always correlate to what you may be reserving. On this trip we got stuck with a small site outside our intended location. We have found it better to call for reservations to make sure we will be given a site in the area we desire. The recent improvements to the park are amazing and there is much to do there. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Extremely clean campground with excellent amenities! We had a pull-through site that was level with a picnic table and some shade. The facilities are in impecable condition and they were busy building new facilities. The public restrooms were spa quality with gorgeous tile work. The pool we went to was awesome and the kids enjoyed the zero entry + adjacent splash pad! Their signage around property/on buildings is terrific and really ties everything together. Enjoyed their Friday Night BBQ on the outdoor patio and listened to a talented musician. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great spot to stay if you're visiting Solvang/Santa Ynez Valley! Also accessible to Goleta beach (about 15 min south on the 101) and Santa Barbara for day trips. We had a great dinner at the Solvang Brewing Company and decided not to fight the crowds at the popular "Paula's Pancake House" and found a great breakfast place one block off the main road - Fresco Valley Cafe! We also visited Ostrichland USA - a fun little activity for the kids. You can feed the ostriches and emus.

Great park with lots and lots to do just in the park. The sites are good size and you can pay more to get a larger site with a fire pit, propane grill and concrete pad. The original site we were given would've been an ideal spot but one side of our 5th wheel needed to be on pads to be level and made the step very high, so we chose to move to another spot. This spot turned out to be better because the sun was behind us in the afternoon. We had a small patch of grass for our dog but this patch needed to be watered badly. We saw other sites that we would request on our next visit that we liked much better. They have two swimming pools and three spas in two different areas of the park. They also had a fitness room that my girls really enjoyed. They also offer airstreams, cabins and safari tents to camp in. Some rv sites also had plenty of room for tents as well. They had a large fenced dog run area which our beautiful Golden Retriever Abbie enjoyed on her last vacation with her family (she passed two days after returning home.) We thoroughly enjoyed camping here and would love to come back in the future. We arrived on a Monday and the park was nice and quiet until Thursday when many families traveling together arrive and it became loud and very busy. Music was playing that was way too loud and it was hard to hear our own conversations. Other then the loud music, everyone from the park employees to other campers were very nice. We hope to plan another trip soon with other family members who would use the various cabins and even the hotel that is operated by the park. The park is close to Solvang and we even drove to a beach in Goleta that we enjoyed very much. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Just finished up a week at Flying Flags (Sunday to Saturday) and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast burrito in the little cafe was great. All roads are paved with asphalt. Sites are dirt/grass in the older/smaller portion of the park and concrete in the newer sections. Everything was clean. Big laundry room (machines take coins or credit card). We were in a pull through in the newest (southern) section of the park. Had plenty of room for our 40' 5th wheel toyhauler, our trike, and our Ram 3500 town vehicle. Back-ins looked to a little shorter, but can't say for sure. There is a fenced dog run. Currently, they are doing a lot of construction (that's the only reason they didn't get a 10 this time), but it looks to be just about finished. They have added a bunch of park models/tiny houses, a huge new pool, and rec area. Although it was VERY busy on the weekends, folks observed quiet time without a problem. Our only real complaint is that there were a million kids there on the weekend - all of them on bikes, skateboards, scooters, etc. The roads were an obstacle course! Please drive slowly. It's a great stop for this area of California. We will definitely return. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

So we paid for super premium site at 75 bucks a night. Upon arrival we got a site that was half full of these big green electrical boxes. It is my birthday weekend so we were hoping for a nice site. Site 29 is across from the office and half full of electical boxes. I asked to be moved and very rude staff refused to move us. This RV park will not let you reserve spots which really sucks. Bottoms line is half the site was taken with electrical equip so should be half price. I guess they throw in a grill and call it super premium, what a bad deal. If booking this RV park I would make a second reservation somewhere else, just in case. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed one night passing through so I asked about the length of pull thru sites as I didn't want to unhook toad. Was told all sites were 65' long. Our site was barely long enough for my 30' MH and tow, maybe 55' long at most. Our site as compacted dirt (maybe for one nighters?) while some others were concrete. We were too tired to go out and eat so we asked the front desk about pizza delivery. They suggested Gino's Pizza as they deliver right to your site. The Pizza was fantastic!! Order a medium pizza but it looked more like a large to me, and boy was it good. Probably the best pizza I've had in a while. Highly recommend giving them a try. A little pricey, but worth every penny.

The good news they are redoing the park with a new pool and rec area, it is going to be beautiful. Now during the construction the turns are tight with lots of equipment to dodge plus most of the street signs are down making it difficult to get to your site. Was promised a satellite friendly site but the site had a tree completely over the MH, the gentlemen across the way came over and said he had changed sites because there was no way the satellite was going to work ...disappointed. Our site was a pull thru that was not long enough to keep the toad off the road, the sites are narrow and my electric cord just reached the power. Hope at sometime they redo the sites to make them more big rig friendly. A hard park to rate. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Hitching Post II in Buellton (made famous by the movie Sideways) is an awesome place for dinner!

There is a ton of stuff to see and do in the area. Easy drive to Santa Barbara or Pismo Beach. The town of Solvang is 10 minutes away and there is a big casino there. Also a lot of golf choices and wineries in the area.

Go into Solvang get some pastries. Also wine tasting at a $$. Lot of restaurants in the area. It is worth staying a few days to take advantage of the area offerings. Very nice large gas fire pit near store to sit and have your hand dipped ice cream or glass of wine. Park store limited, but there is an Alberson's a few miles away. No Walgreens or Wal Mart in area. CVS store nearby. There are gas stations in Solvang for gassers, but check them out before taking your rig in.

Terrific restaurants include Hitching Post (of Sideways fame) which serves their amazing hamburgers ONLY Mon, Tues, and Wed. in the bar area. The locals love this place. Also some really good restaurants in Solvang plus lots of shops if that's your thing.

This park is very close to Solvang, which is a Danish community with lots of shopping and restaurants. There are many wineries around the park, so you can go winetasting.

Mortenson's Bakery. Get a strudel for the wife. It's almost as good as giving her diamonds, but way cheaper. A local grocery store within walking distance (Albertson's), a Pea Soup Anderson's, and of course, Solvang.

If you plan to get to the CG early, call before you get in line. Several people told me they were sent back on the street because they were too early. The entrance and exit cross so if you have to leave when the check in line is long, you will sit there idling.

If you visit the charming Danish town of Solvang, avoid the touristy section, and try Birkholm's, the ORIGINAL Solvang bakery. 9 varieties of cookies in tub for $16 (the others on the main street charge up to $21 for smaller tub / 6 varieties). And friendly servers!

Visit Anderson's Pea Soup, good food and easy walk. We found walking for Groceries and fast food easy to do. You may not have to drive too far, unless you are going to visit wineries.
