This is a a resort and the price reflects that. Park is gated and secure, clean, pond is nice, pool and spa look inviting although we didn't use them. The sites are owned individually -- they rent out sites when owners aren't using them. Last time we were here, you got golf included in the cost or you got a discount. This rate ($50) seems high for a full discount. We didn't golf, but golfers were abundant. This was a good overnight stop for us and we'd probably come back again, as long as they don't keep raising the prices. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

According to the AAA tour book, the Fossil Discovery Center of Madera County is located here, which sounds very interesting (with a mock dig for kids). We had to get on down the road, but next time the grandkid is with us we'll likely make a point of stopping here, just for that. (559 665 7107)

Rate is for a full hookup pull thru site after Good Sam discount is applied. We found the back in sites too short to accommodate the fifth wheel and the truck. We were too lazy to park the truck elsewhere in the overflow and spent the 10$ extra for the pull thru. The sites are level concrete pads with excellent hookups in a resort style park with a pond and a fountain in the middle. Your neighbors will be ten yards left and right with some low shrubbery between the sites. Don't expect too much privacy here. However, it is a good place just two miles off the I-5 to get away from the highway and train noise. We didn't use any amenities but assume they will all be in the same excellent shape as everything in this park appears to be. Friendly and competent staff at the check in. Garbage pick up in the morning. Probably more goodies we didn't check out because we just stayed over night. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Grocery store two miles down the road. Gas stations at the I-5 exit. Surprisingly large differences in price for diesel - check all gas stations before filling up!

This is a nice, clean, well-run campground. Our discount was through RPI, which means we only get to stay in certain spaces that are back-ins. The pull-through so are reserved for customers paying by other means.

Our only complaint about the campground is that the sewer connection is awkwardly placed so the only way to connect to them is with a 20-foot hose. The wifi worked well. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

$7 per night for electricity is out of line as is an additional $10 for a pull thru. Back in site was way too small for our 32 ft MH, no room for our Towd and way out of level. Staff wasn't interested in us and should have been as they don't know who might be a purchaser. All night long traffic noise. Electric box needed repair, got hot. Only restrooms are a long walk from site. However park is pretty. Will pass this one by. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful sites and amenities. Well maintained. Disappointed for the price there were no picnic tables provided. Also disappointed that they advertised a complimentary round of golf for 2 with each stay. This was even stated on their Good Sam listing. However, if you want the Good Sam discount (10% or $5/night) you don't get the complimentary golf. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed two weeks there. Great location. Adjacent to Pheasant Run Golf Course. RV Rate included complimentary green fees daily for two. Very clean, well run facility. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Very good grocery store nearby. Larger retail stores were within 30-40 minutes away, either direction.

Can't say enough about how amazing this park is! Exterior plots all have privacy maximized by hedges and private little lawns, all pads concrete. Large clean dog walk with scooper provided for cleanup. Every amenity provided and a very friendly accommodating staff. Interior plots surround "pool" designed to look like a natural pond with fountains, just the most amazing landscaping and design for an RV park. Wish I were a golfer, but the tennis courts and grounds were great too. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Museum nearby is very interesting, prehistoric remains were found on site during construction so now has become a small but very interesting museum. Convenient shopping also.

We our close to the end of a 30+day trip and this is the least full park we have visited. Which surprised us given the high marks this park receives. Our site had no table and the pad had not been cleaned in a long time. The landscaping was dying but given the draught in California is understandable. The pool area looked nice but the rest of the park needs some TLC. There are no shade trees for relief from the summer heat. It is an ownership park not sure why any one would want to buy a lot here. This park does not deserve the high marks it receives. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Hidden germ, very nice resort, very clean. Bathrooms are like in a hotel. Very good Internet and mobile signal - real find after Yosemite NP, with no connectivity. There's nothing to do around the RV park, which gets a little less than 10. Two hours drive to Yosemite NP, though. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is way overpriced for what it is. Golf course is the reason they have guests. We had a back in site. We have 45 ft MH. Barely fit next to wall. No room to park car. So small manager had to come cut bushes back to let out our slides. Also tree hanging on top of MH. We stopped gardener and had him trim the tree off our top. Bugs on trees coming inside from so much trees and shrubbery. We had to spray under our coach but still had them inside. Have never had bugs inside. The sprinklers come on and soaked our chairs and rug...shall I go on...

We chose the park as it was centrally located to San Francisco and Yosemite. The people in front office were not friendly. The manager and camp host very nice. The sites are so small that you sit outside and hear people talking inside their 5th wheel...beautiful golf course and restaurant. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Unless you are a golfer don't go...oh golfers get to play free if you stay at the park...whooooohooooo

At this park most of the lots have been sold but are for rent on a short-term basis. Great for a short stop on your way to the desert. A round of golf is included with each rental fee. Pleasant manager, nice back-in or pull-through sites with full services, and quiet. The weather in January is still cool so not much activity in this park. Will stay here again. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Rent a site and get a free round of golf!

This is the "off" season for this CG and we were given a premium drive-through site. WSE & CTV, daily garbage pick up and two complimentary rounds of golf per site on a quality golf course. Staff was terrific. This is an adult park well managed and quality in every way. Hedges separate sites and each site is concrete with patio area and ample parking for toad or tow vehicle. The pool and sauna is open and clean. We have enjoyed each stay here and will return. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Fuel and propane are nearby in Chowchilla. Groceries are even closer and there are local eateries nearby as well. This is an excellent place to stay and relax, tour the area, including Yosemite National Park. The GPS gets terribly confused with recent new construction on SR-99 and sometimes it isn't easy getting back to the park unless you return on exactly the same route by which you left.

First take this is a nice place; after driving through the big iron gates it is a different story. Weirdest utilities I've encountered with the sewer 40 feet in the middle of a 80 foot pull through and the rest of the utilities about 30 feet away. Grass is mostly dead from lack of water and weeds have replaced the grass. A flyer put in your welcome pack instructs you to keep your fresh water tank filled because they run out of water occasionally. Wifi was down. Pool and spa out of service for refinishing. Somewhat noisy due to road by park. I couldn't believe with so many amenities not available they did not reduce rate accordingly. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a great little RV park. We stop here on our way to Northern California from San Diego. There is a related golf course and restaurant. The Putter's Bistro is great for dinner. We will be back hopefully to enjoy the golf course in more temperate weather. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
