The feel here was very "gated community" with a lot of rules but I think if I was an owner I might want it that way as well. I think if you're a golfer this is a great place. Though we received a "discount" since we didn't golf. The club is an easy walk and the restaurant was fine. The lake is really a pond but still it was lovely to sit outside there. The pool area is very nice with a grill you can use. We stayed a week here because we were using it as a home base for day trips. Both Yosemite and Monterey we a couple hours drive away. I wouldn't stay a week again. 4 full days would probably have been perfect for us. If you get a back-in site on the "lake" beware. We were told we would fit and did not. Parking is in a different area. They do pick up your trash every morning. It took me days to get the laundry finished because you are limited to using only one washer and dryer. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Farensi restaurant near the hotel was absolutely the best food ever. Don't be put off by the looks of the building. Don't travel 30 miles to Home Depot. The hardware store downtown has a little bit of everything and has a wonderful staff. Local supermarket nice and hair dressers and other stores very close by. Would not recommend the nail place though. I left with 3 nails bleeding.

We stayed here as a prelude to our trip to Yosemite to do some cooking and get trailer ready. The sites are concrete pads with some privacy hedging in between and are available as either pull through or back in. The pull through site accommodated our truck and trailer nicely. The park is gated and has a secure feel, not that the area seems to require security. The laundry area is a little on the small side with only three washers as I remember. A little concrete patio to step out on, but no picnic table in most of them (think you get one if you are lakeside). We would stay here again. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the better parks in the area. My comments: I was on pad 42. It rained rather hard while I was here. The area between the pads is hard packed dirt. Because of the rain, the area was muddy. They should put gravel, bark or stepping stones between the pads. The sewer hook-up is between the hedges and actually on my neighbors pad. They should either move the hedges, move the connection or make the opening in the hedges large enough so you can reach through to make the hook-up. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay when visiting Yosemite. Beautiful site across from a lovely fountain; incredibly well kept park. Gated and secure. Lots of shrubs between sites made for more privacy. We'd been through some dirt and mud on the way there and the manager recommended someone to come to the site and clean our RV. He did a great job! We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed a couple of nights passing through the area. This was our second stay here. Apparently we didn't rate the first stay.

The park is a short drive from HWY 99 (Exit 170) along paved, 2 lane roads. The park has gated access so you're given a remote to open the gate.

The sites are a mixture of back-ins and pull-throughs. There seemed to be the extended stay sites. There is significant bump to transition from the road to the pad similar to driving over a curb. Several of the parking pads are experiencing broken concrete. The parking pads are narrow. This park understands the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level site as the sites were level and flat. Distance or hedge rows establishes privacy between the sites. There are manicured grass lawns with the sites and throughout the park. Curbside garbage pickup.

There are a few trees scattered around the park so satellite reception would be dependent upon site assignment and your dish configuration. The park brochure didn't show any cable or broadcast channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels.

The park provided WiFi was excellent but occupancy was low. Our Verizon WiFi hotspot worked well. Didn't try the NET10 phone so don't know about the reception.

The designated fenced pet area was in a corner. It had a grass surface. There was a bag dispenser and waste collection station in the fenced pet area for waste. There was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park roads. But there weren't any bag dispensers and waste collection stations around the park for waste.

The clubhouse, pool & hot tub amenities and park's appearance made this a pleasant stop over. We would stay here again if the need arose while traveling through the area. Don't believe we would want to make it an extended stay site due to the limited shopping nearby and the complimentary round of golf for 2 per site per night. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Really no bad sites. We prefer the pull-throughs for short stays but would consider a back-in (#10-19) for an extended stay. Sites 20 - 42 were along the south edge of the park, which had a line of tall trees that could obstruct satellite reception. There is a mobile detailing service available to wash your RV which we took advantage of.

We love this place. We have stayed here twice in the past month. Free golf at their excellent course is included in the daily rate. The park is pretty and well maintained. There is a lake with a fountain in the center and palm trees all around. Spacious parking spots and daily trash pick up, a lovely pool and hot tub, cable and wi-fi, gated and secure and the golf clubhouse is within walking distance with a nice restaurant. A great place to relax. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice RV resort. Facilities are clean. Office/clubhouse is very nice. Pads are concrete with concrete patio space (2 spaces on pull-through sites). Spacing between sites is reasonable with tall hedge between sites to provide additional privacy although sites are narrower than what I would expect for an RV resort that sells the sites. We stayed on a pull-through site that was more than long enough for our 40' MH and toad. The back-in sites are short for an RV and 2nd vehicle. I did note some cracks in some of the concrete pads in the resort, but the ones I saw were fairly minor. Nice "lake". Gated park. Requires their wireless opener to enter. Check-in was very friendly and efficient. Discounted nightly rate was $50 with $5 per night tax. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Convenient to CA-99. Grocery nearby. Not a lot of choices for places to eat. Chowchilla seems to not be growing. Golf isn't free with Good Sam discount as one would believe from web site. You either get the 10% discount or golf. Good fuel prices in Chowchilla.

This is a a resort and the price reflects that. Park is gated and secure, clean, pond is nice, pool and spa look inviting although we didn't use them. The sites are owned individually -- they rent out sites when owners aren't using them. Last time we were here, you got golf included in the cost or you got a discount. This rate ($50) seems high for a full discount. We didn't golf, but golfers were abundant. This was a good overnight stop for us and we'd probably come back again, as long as they don't keep raising the prices. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

According to the AAA tour book, the Fossil Discovery Center of Madera County is located here, which sounds very interesting (with a mock dig for kids). We had to get on down the road, but next time the grandkid is with us we'll likely make a point of stopping here, just for that. (559 665 7107)

Rate is for a full hookup pull thru site after Good Sam discount is applied. We found the back in sites too short to accommodate the fifth wheel and the truck. We were too lazy to park the truck elsewhere in the overflow and spent the 10$ extra for the pull thru. The sites are level concrete pads with excellent hookups in a resort style park with a pond and a fountain in the middle. Your neighbors will be ten yards left and right with some low shrubbery between the sites. Don't expect too much privacy here. However, it is a good place just two miles off the I-5 to get away from the highway and train noise. We didn't use any amenities but assume they will all be in the same excellent shape as everything in this park appears to be. Friendly and competent staff at the check in. Garbage pick up in the morning. Probably more goodies we didn't check out because we just stayed over night. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice, clean, well-run campground. Our discount was through RPI, which means we only get to stay in certain spaces that are back-ins. The pull-through so are reserved for customers paying by other means.

Our only complaint about the campground is that the sewer connection is awkwardly placed so the only way to connect to them is with a 20-foot hose. The wifi worked well. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

$7 per night for electricity is out of line as is an additional $10 for a pull thru. Back in site was way too small for our 32 ft MH, no room for our Towd and way out of level. Staff wasn't interested in us and should have been as they don't know who might be a purchaser. All night long traffic noise. Electric box needed repair, got hot. Only restrooms are a long walk from site. However park is pretty. Will pass this one by. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful sites and amenities. Well maintained. Disappointed for the price there were no picnic tables provided. Also disappointed that they advertised a complimentary round of golf for 2 with each stay. This was even stated on their Good Sam listing. However, if you want the Good Sam discount (10% or $5/night) you don't get the complimentary golf. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Can't say enough about how amazing this park is! Exterior plots all have privacy maximized by hedges and private little lawns, all pads concrete. Large clean dog walk with scooper provided for cleanup. Every amenity provided and a very friendly accommodating staff. Interior plots surround "pool" designed to look like a natural pond with fountains, just the most amazing landscaping and design for an RV park. Wish I were a golfer, but the tennis courts and grounds were great too. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
