An absolute beautiful green oasis in an otherwise brown, dusty Central California (at least brown and dusty this year), just off Highway 99. Impeccably neat, clean and well organized, this is truly a resort. There are 87 campsites with variety of back-ins, pull throughs and 19 head-in sites that surround a small man-made lake. Nightly rates vary depending on the type of site you choose. Campsites are long, level concrete pads that are wide enough for strips of grass and hedges on either side to shield you from your neighbors. Wide interior roads are paved and have gentle curves that make navigation easy, even for big rigs. The park is part of an overall gated golf resort and the nightly fee includes two free rounds of golf. Non-golfers can opt for a discounted park rate.Amenities include daily garbage pick-up and something we've not seen before--fire extinguishers mounted outside at several points throughout the park. Although there's little to see and do right in Chowchilla, this park is a great place for snowbirds to overnight or rest up for a couple of days or so as they travel from north to the sunny south and back. It'll definitely be on our list of places to stay again. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Final Round Grill overlooks the golf course (just across the parking lot from the park) and has 'pub grub plus' food. And there are a couple more restaurants a short drive up the road. There's also a grocery store nearby. For those staying longer than overnight, Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks are an hour and a half to the east.

What a wonderful RV park campground! Beautiful landscape, very clean with well kept grounds and big rig friendly. Long pull-through for our 43 ft MH with tow and didn't need to disconnect. Grass on each side of parking pad. The park is part of a golf resort and is gated. There's a wonderful bar and grill (The Final Round) at the Country Club overlooking the golf course that is easily accessed from the back right gate. They give you a key card to get in and out of the park when you check in. Would highly recommend staying here. Friendly and helpful staff. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a great RV Park. We stop here on our way to and from locations to the North. The Final Round restaurant at the golf course is an easy walk and very good. Unfortunately, many of the sites do not have tables. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice. Paved throughout. Well landscaped. Hedges between sites on the drive-thrus. Easy to maneuver with big rig. Electronic gated entrance and exit. Modern in every respect. Free round of golf thrown in with campground fee. Although a bit pricey, we would return for an overnight stay when north/south bound. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed in The Lakes to be near Yosemite. The concrete pad is narrow with a grassy area & smallish patio. Golf a nice option if desired. A very nice SaveMart is just down the street for grocery needs/Redbox. A few sites have shade, most of the larger pull thru sites do not. Full hook ups, clean pool/spa, clean showers and restrooms. The park is gated & guests receive a remote to enter the park during a visit. The park is far enough away from the highway to not hear traffic noise, but trains can be heard in the distance. Not much in Chowchilla to do or see. Mostly fast food restaurants. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

We paid $50 a night to camp here, we were going to stay longer and golf but due to inclement weather we decided to move on after one day so I really didn't have time to do a full evaluation of the park like I would like to . I personally have a problem with paying $50 a night only because I'm old-school and can't get used to paying that kind of money but I know that it's the new norm and most people don't even think twice about paying. We got a pull through and it was in a beautiful setting the dog park might've been a little bit unconventional compared to what I'm used to in the 55+ resorts down in Arizona, but the dog thought it was nice she did her thing and off we went. My plan of attack was to spend one night golf the next day and then leave the following morning due to the weather I decided to just stay the night check out the resort leave the next morning and head home. If you are playing golf they do not give you a discount rather they charge you the full amount and you golf free for two people, I chose the discount because of the weather and decided to just leave the following morning . I was told that you either have to pay the full amount weather you golf all days or take the discount amount you can't split it up for your particular daley usages. We camp here in the motorhome . This is our 4th time staying here; still one of the best RV parks to stay at in the surrounding area but you pay for that privilege. The last couple years we found the the lawns were not mowed, a lot more ants, and the water pressure is not very good. I don't know if it was because the park was full or if CA is just coming out of a drought but it was not good. The staff also messed up our reservation by booking us twice but they caught their mistake and gave us the proper site. They've always been very nice. Hope they fix the water pressure problem soon. We stayed in a pull-through site. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed a couple of nights passing through the area. This was our third stay. No changes from our last visit. Still a nice park even with the few weaknesses it has. The park is a short drive from HWY 99 (Exit 170: Roberts Rd/26th Ave) along paved, 2 lane roads. The park has gated access so you're given a remote to open the gate. The sites are a mixture of back-ins along the outer edge or pull-ins around the lake and P/T's. The back-ins and pull-ins seemed to be the extended stay sites. The interior roads are paved. The site parking pads are concrete but there is significant bump to transition from the road to the pad similar to driving over a curb. Several of the parking pads are experiencing broken concrete. The interior roads and turns are wide enough to negotiate without much problem. The parking pads are narrow. The P/T sites were long enough for coaches & their toads. This park understands the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level site as the sites were level and flat. Distance or hedge rows establishes privacy between the sites. There are manicured grass lawns with the sites and throughout the park. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50/30/20 AMP), & sewer. There were multiple utility connections hidden in the hedge rows which made accessing them difficult requiring a lot of hose/cord. The sewer connection was at the ground so it was easy to establish a downhill flow. Seem to remember there being an outside table. Only a few of the sites had fire pits but there was a common fire pit at the clubhouse. Curbside garbage pickup. There are a few trees scattered around the park so satellite reception would be dependent upon site assignment and your dish configuration. The park brochure show 24 channel cable line but made no mention of broadcast channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Close to golf, shopping, etc. We typically stay here as we're traveling from Seattle to S. Cal and Arizona. It's a great place to rest up for a couple of days while being on the road. Very Secure. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed 2 nights on way to Hemet CA. Great value if you golf. Yes I golf. stay includes golf for 2 on 18 hole course (nice course). small resort over all, secure and very clean. close to shopping(not walking though) first time here-not much to do other than golf. set in a area of housing and fruit groves. if you want to go for a walk somewhere the golf course is the best place. site backed on to houses with kids playing, we didn't mind, I realize it might bother others possibly. If you like to golf, stay here! We have stopped here three times and enjoyed a round of golf. The nightly fee includes golf for two (cart rental additional). If you don't play golf, they give you a discount (Good Sam, etc). Our site was a backin next to the road which was realitively quiet and nice. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The Good Sam discount basically made up for the tax, so we paid $40 instead of $44. It's one of the rare parks we've stayed at where resort is used correctly. It's a gated, landscaped, and very attractive place. When we made the reservation they did ask us how old our rig is. It's new, but they probably wouldn't have let us stay if we still had our old class B. This park is convenient to CA-99. Sites are close though there are short privacy hedges between sites. We had to level our front tires just a bit. The restrooms/showers are attractive and modern. There are 3 showers in the restroom area. They did not have a place to sit but only a towel bench. There was even a sign indicating the bench was for towels not sitting. We did not use the golf or restaurant facilities. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

I agree with the late 2016 reviews. Some of the earlier complaints may have been due to the severe drought in the Central Valley. But we are here is the middle of a big series of rain storms! Cable TV was good, no HD. Wifi excellent. Easy access from Hwy 99. A bit overpriced. Back in sites are $40, ours was a pull-through. Too wet to try the free golf. :-( We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

45' m/h with F250 tow. 2nd trip. The park is very nice. The first time we stayed we were told there was overflow parking for our extra vehicle (we were towing and had additional car). This time told that we would have to park at golf course, when the same overflow had spots. The overnight spots are all 70' concrete with 30/50 amp, water and sewer. Plenty of space for slides. they have smaller sites for longer stays/smaller rigs. The park is pleasant, a pond with geese, a dog area that's gated. Each time the neighbors are friendly. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
